Grey's was very intense indeed! I went through a ton of kleenex watching and my eyes are still swollen :sad2: Talk about emotionally draining...whew!

YAY it's Friday :cool1: and I don't have any Saturday classes I have to teach tomorrow so I get the whole weekend to relax! I think we might go see Shrek and Robin Hood this weekend.

Terrie :)

Booked my bus trips from WL to port and port to MCO. I hope they show a movie and drinks would be nice. lol 70 bucks a piece. DVC cast member took care of it for me. Anyone else riding the bus over on Sunday?

Scott:smickey:

We won't be riding the bus to the port since we are driving down from MD. We will park our car at the port. How is everybody else getting to the port?

WE ARE TAKING BUS OVER FROM OKW SUN BUT USUALLY THERE ARE ENOUGH PEOPLE FROM CERTAIN RESORTS THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY BE ON DIFFERENT BUS. MANY BUSSES GO. NO MOVIES :rotfl2:

Hello again everyone! Its been a really long time since I have been on here. We just got back from a DVC "Party". What it basically was trying to get people to join or add more points on. While the incentives were good for adding on (not great) does anyone know or has anyone ever added on while on the member only cruise? Just wondering if we should what until than to add on? September can not come fast enough for us!

OK - all of the talk about Grey's and I had to watch it - now I have only watched maybe one or two shows but WOW!!! What an amazing episode - emotionally draining is an understatement!!!

OK on to important cruise stuff. How does the transportation work? We will be flying into MCO Sunday morning. We usually rent a car but since we will be staying at BLT we thought we would save the money of the rental. How does the transportation work? Where do I book it? Can I book it now? How much will it be? There are four of us. Do you pay per person and is it round trip? How do we get to BLT after the cruise? I guess I assumed (yes I know what happens when I assume:upsidedow) there would be some set up like ME for the cruises also. One final question is can we then do ME from BLT to MCO when we leave? I wasn't sure if we could book ME for just a return trip.

Nikki - if there are four of you needing a ride from MCO to the ship (and then back to WDW), you might want to check into renting a car. For the DCL bus to/from it is a per person charge and I'm not sure if they charge you each trip or if it's a round trip purchase) So, itt might be about the same price for you to rent a car and then you have the freedom of having your own transportation to and from the port. Of course, you have to figure in parking at the port, too. But depending on what kind of deal you can find on a rental, it might just about equal out. As far as when to set up ME...I think you can do a one way trip from BLT to MCO and I think you can do that now, but I'm not sure...we've never used ME because we always rent a car.

We're flying in on Saturday, renting a car, staying at the Radisson at the Port, then staying at BLT two nights after the cruise.

Well, I probably won't be back on here until tomorrow...I have an insanely busy day. Tutoring at 10:00, Baseball game at 11:45, Open house immediately after the game, birthday party immediately after the open house, then we're trying to go to the drive in to see Shrek and Iron Man 2. Hope you all have a great day!!

:wave2: Hi again! I haven't cruised before so I can't answer about adding on. DH and I are holding out too in order to see what incentives are offered on a member cruise. Where was the DVC party and what was it like?

Terrie :)

The incentives are usually better on the cruise. We added on on the cruise last year and paid less when we added on the June (I think) before the cruise. Plus, if you add on enough points (250) that usually gets you a stateroom on the next member cruise. We did not add on 250 points. We added on 210 points at AKV and received this:

Debbie is right. You might want to rent a car since the magical express (ME) charges per person. You can purchase a one way ticket which is aproximately $35. I am not sure the exact price but I know it is in the $30s price range per person. There are also car rental places at the port so you can return the car before you board so you would not have to pay the parking fee at the port. The parking fee last year was $15 per day which you had to pay when you parked.

If you decide to book ME, you can book it now through MS.

Hi,

I had recently wondered about this and spoke with a rep at DCL. They informed me that you can use the Disney transportation for the cruise either one way or return. It is $35 per person regardless of age per trip. So a round trip would be $70 pp. You just have to call DCL and make your reservation letting them know that you will be at MCO on Sunday morning and that you are going to BLT on Thursday. And yes you can still use ME to go to the airport from BLT upon check-out and that trip is for free.

I think that when you do the math, usually for groups of more than three it ends up being cheaper to rent a car than take Disney transportation. Some people park the car at the port and return in it. Others may get a rental from a company that has a return facility close to the port and drop that car off there. On one occasion we had used a private taxi service and found that to be convenient and less costly for our family of 5. So you have many options. Depending on when you are flying in on Sunday, you may want to consider Disney transportation as then you know you are making it to the boat. Hope this helps.

Just back from Rhode Island, DDIL graduated from Rodger Williams Law School.
My DD-DSIL-DGD will be driving from Ga. and parking at the port. Anything they need to know?
The rest of us -DS, DDIL, DGM, DH and ME[!] will be taking the ME from the airport and then back to OKW.

Hi all! I hope eveyone is enjoying their weekend. DH and I went and saw Robin Hood today. We enjoyed it very much!

We also just played a round of tetherball in front yard. I used to play for hours when I was 14. My body has just informed me that I am no longer 14 :sad2:

its a lot cheaper to rent car if there are more than 2 of you. We have done it both ways. We have rented from airport for 1 day, but i made sure we rented from a company that was close enough to the ship that they will shuttle you over . Then we rent a car from same company after cruise and they shuttle us back to pick car up. Then we drive to wdw. For example we stay at okw. We have car until 24hours after we picked it up near ship. I drop it off the next day and they shuttle me back to resort. It takes about an hour to get to rental then they shuttle you over. For 4 people its about $300 both ways on wdw bus. About half that for car rental. Its a very direct route both ways. Highway takes you from airport to port direct. Very simple.

The only things they need to know is that they have to pay for the entire stay in advance and the fee cannot be paid in cash.

Ugh, I know what you mean. I mean, we only played one round (didn't have the energy to go another) and not only did I get an asthma attack but my arms are already sore! On the upside...I won the round :woohoo:

Hey Gang! Life has just been hectic around here and I haven't been able to get on here as much as I would like. So, sorry to go back, but Grey's was just totally insane. In fact, I haven't slept well since that show. And, I believe like Terrie, went through a ton of kleenex. I was on the edge of my seat all night. That was just so intense.

Transportation. . . . we have done it all. We have taken a town car, a rental car, the Disney Bus, our private vehicle, yada, yada, yada. This trip we are renting a car and driving down to Vero Beach Saturday before the cruise. We will then return our car to Dollar, really close to the terminal, and have them shuttle us to the cruise terminal (which is very easy to do, we did it last year). Then we are planning on purchasing the Disney transfer to go back to BLT, only because the last time we did a town car service we thought we were going to die before we got to our resort. The driver was very, um, not careful with his car load and scared the crappola out of us. Then we will book the ME back to MCO on Sunday morning. So we are going to be doing a little bit of it all this time. I realize that the Disney transfer will be more money for the four of us but we are willing to pay it. It worked really slick last year for us.

Today we had to go to my DH's uncle's funeral, then dress shopping with the youngest DD for her eighth grade graduation in June. Tomorrow is my niece and nephew's gradution from HS. I also need to plant flowers, do laundry and try to get some of my family time in. I just can't believe my niece and nephew (twins) are graduating. That means my oldest DD is just days away from becoming a Senior in HS. And she really can't do that already! I mean just because she is 17 doesn't mean she can go and be a Senior on me. I know, time flies when you are having fun.

Sorry to have such a long post, but when I am unable to get on for a while I just go crazy when I do.

Have a great evening! :flower3:

I used to love playing Tetherball. What fun that was! Sounds like you did good Terrie!

Hi Chris! Sorry to hear about your DH's uncle. My condolences.

Congratulations to your niece & nephew! And, next year you will have 2 daughters in high school! Wow! Graduation season is in full swing. My DS's class is even having a "graduation" in June. I could not believe it. They will get certificates. And, of course I will be there to see him get his certificate.
