Thanks Terrie. It looks like the weather will be nice down there this weekend. Our friends who live in Sebastian said it was 83 today! And looking at the computer it says it should be in the upper 70's to almost 80! :woohoo:

Hello Everyone.

Hope that all is well with you.

Hi all!!! Happy Friday!! Yet another 2hr delay here!!! It rained last night and with the cold made some of the roads icy:scared1:!! Much better now!!

Have a great day!!!

Monika - you and Michael have a wonderful stay and BLT and an even wonderfuller, haha, cruise! We leave later today and will be at SSR probably by about 10:30 tonight. :woohoo:

Yes, we had more freezing precipitation over night here too. School was delayed for 2 hours this morning. And after driving to work I can see why. Very slick.

Have a great weekend everybody! :flower3:

GOOD AFTERNOON LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,
BOYS AND GIRLS!
WE SET SAIL IN 33 WEEKS!
:banana::banana::banana:

Good Morning all!!!

Monika and Chris - I hope you are enjoying your Disney time!! Wish I were there!!

Things have been busy here - the girls had a stomach flu bug - DD5 is old enough to go to the bathroom and UM CONTAIN the problem....DD2 not so much. Her's happened in the car - WOW what a little girl can do!!! Good news is she has been going pee on the potty for 5 days straight now. DD5 was fully trained long before this time - this one however has a mind of her own- but she wants to go to school with her sister - so I bribed her!!!

Our family trip is about 10 weeks away and the chaos begins.....why do I even try to plan. Airtran changed our return flight and a change in time would not be a problem except now it is a layover in ATL:scared1:!!! Our direct options were 8:30AM or 8:30PM. DSis(31) her fam and my mom opted for 8:30AM. Our fam of 4 opted for 8:30p. The rest of the crew stuck with the layover. DDad (who has a brain injury) was our concern - the 8:30a flight is too early and 8:30p would mean the day out which we cannot guarentee he could handle - his status changes day by day.:mad:AIRTRAN!!!!! When will Southwest join the luggage check -in??

I'm done ranting - thanks for letting me vent!!!

Morning everyone!
Been away from the board for a while - busy with work, etc. Nice to hear everyone's stories and what's going on in your lives. This is such a great idea.

Glad to hear that so many others have taken some of our Wisconsin snow over the last couple of weeks. We actually had a January thaw, for the first time in years I think! I no longer have a foot of snow and two inches of ice on my roof....

My favorite movie must be "The Bishop's Wife" starring Cary Grant, David Niven and Loretta Young. We watch it every holiday season, so I must have seen it over 20 times, therefore my favorite. A remake called "The Preacher's Wife" with Whitney Houston was pretty good, but the original is head and shoulder's above it. Nice humor, reminiscent of a simpler time, and a heartwarming message - what more could a person want, especially during the holidays!

So many favorite Disney movies - Lion King, LK 1 1/2, Bolt, Bug's Life, Dumbo, 3 Mouseketeers - I could go on and on. But if I'm forced to pick one, I guess it would be Fantasia. Gotta luv the Mouse.

Hope everyone is having a good week thus far.
Has everyone heard that Disney has named the new Ko Olina resort Aulani. One more reason to go to Hawaii. I wonder if Disney will ever do a Hawaiian cruise...:cloud9:

My wife is REALLY hoping that they will begin selling points to Aulani while we're on our Member's Cruise. I'm REALLY hoping that they don't.....I'm sure that would be a "discussion" that I'd probably end up losing!!!!

There was a website with some great construction photos.

http://www.yesterland.com/disneykoolina4.html

This same site had an interesting (but a little disappointing for me) article on why DCL would probably NOT cruise to Hawaii.

http://www.yesterland.com/disneykoolina2.html

But we can dream, can't we????

Wow, three posts in a row -- guess I've been away for a while!!!

Finally, has anyone gotten / seen / used the Passporter's Guide for DVC? I just got my first Passporter Guide for WDW while at the bookstore on Saturday. Even though we're "veterans" at WDW, I always enjoy a good guidebook with plenty of pictures. This one seems like it will really come in handy.

Any thoughts???

Thanks, and have a great day,
Tim

Ok

Sorry to post this as this is not Disney stuff but just found out some really scary news and find this group easy to talk to and know that we love the freedom we have in this country. All of us from time to time underappreciate the right to go to places like WDW.

Just found out one of may favorite students in the last few years was injured and possibly killed in the latest suicide bombing in Afganistan. Getting sketchy news and in all honesty it is freaking me out a little. This young man wanted one thing upon graduation and that was to join the Marines and defend our county. I await anxsiously for confirmed reports on his status and ask everyone to keep our soldiers, defending our country as well as all americans that give of themselves freely for the betterment of our world in their thoughts and prayers. Whether you believe or not in our political agenda in the USA we must always care for those that protect us.

sorry to ramble but I guess when it hits close to home makes you think.

Thanks for letting me voice my concerns.

I wondered about the Passport Guide for DVC and WDW. So, I would appreciate any thoughts about these books as well.

No need to apologize. :grouphug: Keeping you, your student and his family, and all our troops in prayer. pixiedust:

I have been using the Passporter since our 1st WDW trip. I love the info but my favorite things are the PassPockets in the back. These become our scrapbook of our trip - I tried to fool myself into thinking I would do one a scrapbook for everytrip - yeah right!!!:lmao::lmao:

Anyway - we complete the pocket for each day before bed and also I use this as our travel document book - I put everything we would need in it and just pull it out as needed. I love to read the updates each year and yes I do get two for the years we take two trips!! The restaurant and ride guides are also awesome. I have not done the DVC guide as I was concerned about it being more geared toward new owners.

Scott - your student and our military our in my prayers:grouphug:!!!

I'm sorry to hear that your DD's were sick. Look at the bright side...at least it happened at home and not while you're on vacation. Airtran has really put you in quite the dilema! I hope your DDad is having a good day that day (and your whole trip for that matter) and whichever route you decide to take I hope it is smooth for all of you.

I hope your student is ok. I'll keep him in my prayers. I will never understand why we (countries around the world) can't all just get along. Why do innocent men and women have to die to protect our country?! We're all human, I'll just never understand it. But, with that said, I have the utmost respect and am so thankful to the men and women who fight for our country. With a little humor added...my brother was in the Air Force during Desert Storm and he begged to be sent over there. They wouldn't send him...and he thinks it's because he begged to go. I think they thought he was crazy. lol I'm surprised they didn't send him for psychological testing!

Thank you all for your words of support.

Got an unconfirmed report this morning from a good friend of his that he passed away last night. I am praying that it is not true. Hug your kids and spouse today!:(
