The Other Annpopcorn::

I'm here! Laptop is FINALLY fixed and out of CompUSA (been there since february :rolleyes1 ) We are actually at home now, have been for 2 weeks. Don't know if I mentioned it or not but we are remodeling our 1978 house and bringing it up to date a bit. So we have been painting, building a deck, and preparing to demolish our bathroom these last couple of weeks. Hard work, but very rewarding. :goodvibes

I am out of commission a little bit because I seem to have caught a bug thats going around :scared1:

No fun!
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

:cool1:
I guess I found the 9/8 board. My wife and I just did the 4/28 Eastern - it was wonderful. See you all on the 9/8 Western. We're looking forward to it.

Welcome to the roll call TX. We're going to have a great cruise!:thumbsup2

PrettyinTink,
Hope you are feeling better soon. My wife has also been sick all week. She missed 3 days of work and she usually goes in no matter what.

She lost her voice and all. At least I couldn't get yelled at.:woohoo:

Our CompUSA here in Philly just closed up shop.

Welcome, I will add you to the roster. I am including in the roster dining roation early or late, stateroom number or cat and first names. PM me and provide me with that information if you like. Are you celebrating anything during this cruise. Also how many are traveling with you on this cruise. If you would I would like to add their info as well.

I am also keeping the list of who is doing the Lunch and Jammie breakfast. The lunch will be Monday at noon in Parrot Cay and the Jammie Breakfast will be at 7:30 AM yes in the morning on Friday before Castaway Cay in Topsiders. You can alsp PM me and let me know if you would like to attend either or both of those meets.

Last but not least there is a small meet planned at the MCO Hyatt the morning of the cruise and one planned for WDW SSR the night before the cruise. We also plan to meet at the Mickey Pool/drink Station at 3 PM the first day before the safety drill. We are going to buy leis to help identify our group. If you read back through the thread you will see much of this info. Some of the info is in the first post on the first page.

Looking forward to cruising with you. Lois

I have added you to the Roster, TXBzean Dizkruzr. I did make the assumption that you would be cruising with your wife again. If I am wrong please let me know.

You can get to the roster and the dining list through the link in my signature.

Bill, that was the main problem. The CompUSA that had our laptop was closing and knew it and had no desire to fix it correctly. After climbing the chain of command dh finally got it fixed at another CompUSA that is not closing. They used to be the BEST. Not anymore, I'm afraid. Oh well, the warranty just expired anyway. Atleast it is fixed. I have been having DIS withdrawels these last few months.

it's good to have you back up and running. I hope this means we will hear more from you in the next few months. Your presence has been missed. Lois

Aw shucks, thanks! Yep, I should be pretty chatty now since I am up and running. We haven't worked in a few weeks, so I have been on the home PC.

As I have already posted, DD20 (amber) is in Costa Rica for a month for a study abroad program. Her major is Landscape Architecture with emphasis in Agriculture.
I just recieved an e-mail from her that basically said "having a great time, eating a bunch of beans and rice, milked a cow, swam under a waterfall, rode a zipline, taking lots of pics and videos, going horseback riding through the jungle tomorrow, love ya":goodvibes

Ya know, dh and I have been a little down in the dumps because we were supposed to do the 14 day med crossover cruise. We didn't go because of this trip for dd and another upcoming trip for ds. That e-mail made me all warm and fuzzy inside and made me realize that she is having the time of her life and we made the right decision. I can not WAIT to see the pictures. I might not have given birth to her biologically(she's my step DD), but I have never been more proud as a "othermother" as they like to call me. That e-mail made my mothers day!

Have a great evening all! :cool2:

I know my kids rely more on their stepmom then they do on myself. So being a step mom can be a very important role. I believe your step daughter is very lucky to have you. I am glad she is able to have a good time while away. I know that I got to travel with my family when I was young and it really helped to shape the person I am today. To see how others around the world lived both those with more as well as those who have much less has allowed me to be more accepting of others. I am very thankful of my youth and also thankful I do not have to relive it.

One day closer!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Hope everyone had a fantastic day.

One day closer to the cruise.

Thanks Lois. That means a lot, as I am not physically able to have children of my own. We (dh, me and their mother) all try to work together to support them in every way. It hasn't always been easy, but it works.
I agree with you that travel has a huge impact on a childs life. Kids can only learn so much in a book or in a classroom. But when they can get their hands dirty and really experience something, well thats just priceless.

I am SO READY for this vacation. We will be at WDW from Aug 30-7, then cruising sep8, of course- now DH is tossing around the INSANE idea of doing the 14 day repo back to port canaveral.   I don't think he has his head screwed on straight right now. That's a whole lotta time off work. His response is "But honey, we can SkyMile the airfare?!?!?" He is just going through DCL withdrawal.
ONE DAY CLOSER INDEED!

Has anyone bought any formal wear for the cruise? I usually look around this time of year. I have a formal dress I payed $30 for (no joke). It was clearance at Macys right after prom season. I wear it and tell people it cost $30 and they never believe me. I also go to consignment shops and buy once worn bridesmaid dresses. I have NEVER paid over $50 for my cruise formal wear. Usually my shoes cost more than my dress! :lmao: Here I go telling all my secrets...........

Stina, how was your birthday? Hope it was a good one!:yay:

Are you talking about the 07 or 08 repo? If you did the 07 that would be awesome. 14 days on the boat, 7 days at WDW and then 7 more days on the boat. You would need to talk almost 30 days off. I don't know that I could go back. Man I need to win powerball.

Hey everyone, what an eventful board!!
This is going to be the first real cruise for my wife and I. We went on one of those time share cruises that looked more like a dingy then a ship, so we are not going to count that. Uncle Sam also geve me 2, six month cruises as part of my deal with his mis-guided children (U.S.M.C = Uncle Sam's Mis-guided Children) so again, we are looking foward to this one to have some real fun! Our Children are also coming along (Tori 4, and Alex 2) in the next cabin my brother and his girlfriend, and in the one next to that, my Mom and her friend. I am a huge sports fan which does include NASCAR, onlyu i am a relativly new fan as my Dad really got me into it (RIP), and now, I am just a casual fan but football is another story.

Anyone going to drink a little on this boat?

Hey you found us and welcome! You guys gotta stay on your toes with this crew. A couple days go by and you'll be pages behind!!:cool1:

I'll be looking for my Dos Equis once onboard. Hope they carry it!

Welcome. There are quite a few NASCAR fans in this group. Since the race is on Saturday Night Sept 8th, we are going to have to meet in the bar to cheer on our favorite drivers.

I have added you to the roster. I am collecting addition information. If you wish would you please PM me the first names of those cruising, The stateroom number for each group and whether you have early or late dining. Also if you like let me know if anyone is celebrating anything while on board. I will add it to the roster. This can be reached through the link in my signature.

I am also keeping the count for those who are joining for our group linch on Monday in Parrots Cay at noon and the Jammie Breakfast at 7:30 AM on Friday. That is the day we are at Castaway Cay and we wanted it to be early enough for folks to be able to attend and still beat the crowds to the beach. Also let me know if you have interest in attending either of these.

STINA is planning a bar hop for Key West in the afdternoon sometime so if you enjoy drinking keep your eyes open for thoses details. Some are meeting at the Hyatt at MCO the morning of the cruise and others at WDW at SSR the night before the cruise. There is a planned meet at the Mickey pool/ drink station at 3PM on Saturday. We have plans to buy leis at about 1 dollor each to help identify ourselves. If you go back through the thread much of this info is in there. If you don't have the time check out Page one post one. Although some of that info is no longer current.

Really looking forward to this cruise and to meeting you and the rest of this DIS Group. Lois

Wow -

I am amazed. I have been keeping track of posts on another website (a whopping 50 somehting posts). Thanks to Bill for sharing this site.

My name is Dennis, and my girlfriend Donita and I will be joining the cruise. My brother Dan posted earlier (DnJLaw777). We will be a group of 8, his family of 4, the 2 of us along with our mother Pat and her friend Donna.

This will be our 3rd Disney Cruise, our 7th overall. We just returned from a 10 night Panama Canal Cruise on the Coral Princess. I have been counting the days since 220. Needless to say, I am a big kid at heart, really do think that the Disney line is wonderful.

I have not had the time (need to allocate around 3 hours) to read all the posts. I am very glad that this is an active site.

Donita and I live in Orlando, about 50 minutes from the port. If assistance or suggestions are needed on local information, please feel free to ask.

My screenname might give away who I work for, I too am a huge NASCAR fan. I have met our last 2 drivers, let's go Jeff (Burton).

Hope all is well.
