09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

It's been a while since I've been able to post. I have some catching up to do! For those who asked about the Dolphin swim excursion options and Chankanaab Park in Cozumel here are the web sites:

http://www.cozumelparks.com/eng/parks-chankanaab.asp

http://www.cometocozumel.com/english/sub/activities-dolphin.asp

There are several options for dolphin excurisions from petting/feeding all the way to swimming and doing tricks in the water. I believe DCL only offers the petting, not the full swim. Probably a liability thing. So I am planning on booking direct so I can do the swim. You can get a taxi to Chankanaab from the port on your own. I'm pretty sure we're going to do this so if anyone is interested in joining us we could make a group of it! Have our own little DCL excursion! :)

I guess not much new going on. We are getting ready to have our hard wood floor refinished. We live in a home built in 1941 and the floors are in sad shape. We had to find a place for two cats, three dogs and two humans to live for a week. Then we have to take every thing out of two bedrooms, a living room and dining room/ office. We only have trwo weeks to prepare for this work. So I'm going to have to count on the rest of you to help keep us on page one during the week I am kicked out of my house. We have to be out for five days then we have to have time to put it back together. Boy I'm getting tired just talkig about it. Gotta rest, Lois

:lmao: :thumbsup2
Wood floors and animals..That can be an evening of hummer in itself.
You move back in, pledge spray the floor then animals chase eachother acrose floor. it is like and ice rink for them. For you when you have socks on.
 PLeasent thoughts and things to look forward to.
Ann

:)
We are going alone, BUT.. our friends Sister who is going has 2 DD 9yr old.
Ann

PS.. cool time on 5 humm.. cool. :dance3:

Yes, in our group there are 5 adult females and 2 DD age nine. I hadn't thought about the fact that there were be major hormones:scared1: on this trip. We range in age from 52 :woohoo: (yes that would be me), down to age 9 princess: princess: (that would be my nieces). This could be very interesting. At least we are in 3 different rooms   . Lois

O.k. I do have a question but let me tell you the deal first. We will be arriving in Orlando on Sept. 5, 2007 at about 4:30p.m. We all opted to do WDW from Sept. 5 - morning of the 8th. So I planned the whole thing, and got some quotes, now I'm being told magical express will take us back to Orlando Airport to wait for the Disney Bus Transfer I prepaid for, **UNLESS**** we book and stay at a WDW Deluxe resort. SO here's my big question (S) First off Do they really only pick up from Deluxe? And does anyone know if the pick up from Moderate Hotels? If so which hotels deluxe/moderate does the Disney Cruise Bus pick up from? I just think it's dumb to go back and forth to the airport. I forsee missing luggage and the whole deal. Hahaha

My sister and I are staying at POP Century before the cruise. She is getting picked up at the Swan to go to the Port. Janet and I are Driving to the port. We will drop her off before we leave. You can opt to take a cab to one of the resorts where they do pick up. It's just an idea. Lois

Ahh, thank you. So I'm assuming there are pickup times, my TA should let me know all that right?

The pick up times are around lunch time or so. We went with the pick up that was eariler. I think it was 11:30. I have to call and confirm what we did. Later. Lois

hmm...i appreciate this discussion because we were thinking of flying in the night before and staying at a WDW deluxe or moderate. are you saying the that the earliest pick up time for the bus to port is 11:30am on saturday the 8th? i was hoping to get to port earlier than that.

if anyone finds out the definitive schedule, please let me know!

thanks,

How early do they let you board the ship? And do they give out boarding group numbers depending on what time you arrive and check in at Port Canaveral? I read somewhere that they board at 4:00p.m. is this right?

We have boarded as early as 12 noon. Parking lot opens around 10:30AM. And lots of cruisers are already lined up to enter the area by 10 AM. Boarding group numbers are random.
Do not get there at 4PM. You will miss lunch and all the fun of exploring the ship before they sail.

They give out numbered cards per group as you enter the Terminal. The early you get there the early you get to board. At least that is what they did last September and the year before. They start boarding people sometime around noon and you can go on and eat lunch but the rooms are not available until 1:30PM. They keep the hall ways roped off. So you get to keep you carry on with you. I still like to get there early. I don't know for sure when all the pick up are but the Dolphin and Sawn were right before Noon. That would put you at the terminal at about 12:30 or so. Plenty of time to check in, get on board, eat and go to your room and get ready to Party. If any one knows any more I would also love to hear it. Lois

Last cruise we arrived at port about 10:30. Boarding started at noon. (doors opened at noon) But there is a huge line so get there early!

Hey Lois,
No one from DU got back to me, so I booked thru WDW Travel. I ended up going with POR. There was only a $172 difference from ASMO. They pick up from POR at 12 noon for Disney Cruise line. If you want to arrange something let me know. I'm not sure what time that will put us at the port but, will they let us board and eat when we get there, or is there an order they follow? I know everyone boards at different times, but I'm thinking should we eat before we get to the port or wait? My DH is really picky when it comes to meal times, meaning at noon, it means it's lunch he will hold off till 1:p.m tops, then he has expired and needs to eat right then. I'm thinkin eat before hand, what do you think?

I would recomend getting a little something as it may be as late as two before you get to eat. But I would make it something small just to hold off till you get on board to eat that first meal. We have always mannaged to get there and be done eating before 1:30 but there isn't a certainity. Anyone else have anything to add that might be different. I don't want to steer any one wrong. Lois
