Welcome, since no one has yet to address the kid's agenda I thought I would do that. The club is open from 9AM to Midnight each day. The day we are at Castaway it is housed on the island and closes from 3 to 4 PM to allow the staff to move it back on board. i have cruised with my grandkids 3 times. I feel that the kids club is very safe. You will need to regester your son and that can also be done on line after you are paid in full. At the port you can finish it up by confirming the info and then they will give you a pager to carry so they can reach you if needed. The one time we got paged, one of the kids thought it was time to go swimming. We just explained that it was the adults who decided when we were taking him to the pool not the other way around and all was cool.
On the first cruise my Grand DD 6 didn't want to go to the club. We talked her into staying for an hour and told her she could page us if she wanted to leave after that hour. When we went to pick her up at 11:50 PM that night we got in trouble because we came before the club was to close. As the kids got older they had more interest in other things and less in the club. Last fall my Grand DS (12) spent alot of time entertaining himself. We just had a dry erease board in our stateroom where everyone was to write down where they were so we could find anyone at any time. That worked well. Gave both kids age 12 and 10 at the time freedom of movement but the adults still had the control.
I hope this answers some of your questions. Any other questions out there??? Lois
