Woohoo! Pub crawl! Getting drunk with a bunch of strangers is the ONLY way I like to spend my vacation! :drinking1

I am all about the pub crawl and I welcome anyone who wants to join in and make it a group crawl. I have no specific time/plan yet, but the bars I am interested in so far are:

Margaritaville
Turtle Crawl (haven't been but a friend highly recommended it)
Irish Kevin's
Sloppy Joe's (the BEST!!! save the best for last)

I'm thinking get activities I have to be conscious for out of the way in the a.m. and crawl in the afternoon, then hopefully make it back to the ship in once piece for Sunday night dinner!

We just MAY have to rent a car or rickshaw or one of those little motorized golf carts to haul us all back to the Magic at sundown. :rotfl:

More thoughts on this as we get closer to cruise time...

And now for my excursions response:

Lois, last time we went to Cozumel we took a taxi (on our own) in the a.m. to Chankanaab National Park, it was awesome! Definitely a place kids would love. There's a gorgeous beach, swimming with dolphins and lots of contained (and not so contained) animals to observe. When we went we were practically alone in the park which was great so we just wandered through the jungle, looked at recreations of Aztec and Mayan ruins and saw lots and lots of iguanas. It was hotter than heck though, we were absolutely drenched from the humidity. We spent the afternoon shopping. Cozumel has THE BEST shopping!

Hey, who you calling STRANGER, stranger? I may be strange, but no stranger than others...  Plus after a few shots no one will be a stranger...:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'll say rickshaw, we don't want to spend a night in the Key West jail, THE FOOD SUCKS!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I am sitting in the Midwest amid the ice, cold and "crazy" work and family things.::sad2: In my mind, pictures of ocean, dolphans, Titans, Disney shows, being rocked to sleep by the ocean. :cool1:
OH YEAH... sharing in "Grama's" anivers time. :goodvibes
WOW! I get to see "Grama" out side of the midwest. FINAILY.....grin:rotfl: :rotfl:
A/M

Not to forget that we are near our 5th year together and 2 year married.

Awwww...I'm so touched that you guys like my pub crawl idea. My partner says I have to post a disclaimer that 1. I don't have a scout badge in leading pub crawls :p and 2. I can't be held responsible for "leading" anyone through the streets of Key West after one drink! :rotfl2: Apparently last time I was a little bit tipsy during our tour of Key West and had forgotten where we were going and where we had been. :rolleyes1

But seriously, I think we'll all be just fine! And if not we can just have a buddy system  to make sure somebody we're with knows we have to be back on that ship before it leaves port.

And I agree with Kborn, after a few drinks we won't be strangers!

If you give DISers some drinks this could happen:

Hey, Key West is Day 2 we gotta start off strong so we can be prepared for the 2-for-1 drink specials by the end of the week. Woohoo Castaway Cay! :woohoo:

I love checking in on this thread everyday, when I have to do crappy projects at work or I'm have a down day it always cheers me up to know there is a fabulous cruise and fabulous group of DISers awaiting me in September. :grouphug: Can't wait to meet y'all!

Maybe when we leave the ship at Key West for the pub crawl we should leave a trail of lime green breadcrumbs so we can find our way back?

Chris

Something like that! Or Paddington Bear-like tags that say "If lost, please return to the Disney Magic by 5pm!" :rotfl:

Ok, I have a serious question NOT related to drinking. :p

We are considering flying in the day before the cruise and spending one night at a WDW resort. (Most likely AKL - my home away from home!) We ordered the Cruise Line Express bus service with our cruise, do any of you know if that bus service will drive us from our resort to the port instead of from the airport to the port?

Thanks!

Yes, they will pick you up from whichever resort your staying at...disney has a bus called the magical express that will pick you up from the airport and take you to AKL. You just have to let them know in advance and they will send you a packet to give to the luggage handlers and they will handle all the luggage from the airport to the AKL. Once at AKL, let the luggage guys know you are going on the cruise the next day and they will call for the DCL pick up.

Ok, cool. Yes, Magical Express is great! We took that on our most recent trip to WDW and it was very efficient. But the Cruise Line Transport you have to pay for, which we did, I just wanted to make sure they would pick us up at the Disney resort instead of the airport to go to Canaveral. I can't see why they wouldn't, I was just curious if any of you had done it that way.

Thanks!!!

Those Paddington Bear-like tags may come in handy onboard the ship too. ;)

Ginny

So true! They'd come in handy for all those late nights at Rockin' Bar D when you're dancing  and you've had one too many drinks and you think...now what deck am I on again? :lmao:

Just wanted to check in with group. I was wondering :confused3 if anyone was attempting to keep a list of who all is posting on this thread. It might be nice to have a list of who is cruising together. Maybe it is still a little early. What do those who have been member of these boards before think?

I have also noted that a number of folks enjoy drinking :drinking1 . Alcohol and I don't  mix well. So I was also wondering if there were others who preferred to remain sober when they party party:. Lois

Exactly. Or the spa (don't underestimate the power of that wrap/massage combo!!!).
