I was thinking that it might be a neat idea for those of us going on shore excursions (through Disney or not) to list them here. That way we can see if there are others who are going at the same time. Just thought it would be cool to know if there are going to be other DIS'ers in our group. So here's what we have booked:

Grand Cayman-Island Tour and Butterfly Farm-8 a.m.
Cozumel-Jeep Exploration-10:45 a.m.

As I said, it was just an idea. Plus, I thought it might add a little bit of "security" to already know someone else in the group!

Great idea! DH & DD are doing Snuba in Key West and I am taking the trolley. Grand Cayman we are leaving open because it wasn't the greatest place last year so we might just walk around and relax and Cozumel, the dolphins!

These Donald and Goofy designs are fantastic!:banana:
I, too, have a different "head" for every day!!

I am having too much fun with these designs :)
(Although I am going through a ton of ink - and magnets!)

I wonder how much weight all of the magnets will add to my luggage??:scared1:

:thanks:

We are planning on just walking around Key West, maybe taking the trolley tour and checking out all the bars closeby; in Grand Cayman we are doing the Semi-Sub tour; and in Cozumel we are scheduled for the Fury Catamaran Beach Party (both through Disney.) But, lately I have been reading a lot of trip reports that share how cruisers have chosen not to schedule an excursion through Disney.... but instead caught a taxi to the beach or to a site on their own. They felt that they saved a lot of money and they were less restricted by the tour schedule or waiting around for the buses with the other tour groups. I am a planner, so its hard for me to be flexible and just wing-it....but, I am considering cancelling our excursion reservations and trying the "wing-it" option. There is this other "more cautious" side of me that worries if anything goes wrong and I am on a Disney excursion...they will be waiting for me....and if we are on our own...they won't. Is anyone else struggling with that decision???

We are not doing any planned excursions, just walk around, sight see, maybe a little shopping (window or actual is yet to be determined)

Since we are first time cruisers, I am hoping there is enough to see and do to preclude me from spending too much money on organized events.

I am getting a bit worried about the tour of the ship interfering with the first meet and greet. anyone care to calm my fears or help with a solution to be able to do both.

I read on another thread that the tour is full of good information and helps you get accustomed to the ship, but i know i want to meet and get to know you all...

I will be easy to spot in the terminal and on board (up until the cast away party is over) just look for the 6 foot tall man with a military hair cut, and a lime green (and i do mean a very bright green) hard hat with silver mickey mouse ears on it... I decided that a hard had with ears for MNSSHP has to be worn to and on the ship.

Just got mine from my TA in the mail today, so they are at least as far as the Central Time Zone!:cheer2:

Key West - We too will be walking around Key West, considering the trolley tour and ... after taking the kids back to The Lab... checking out a few of the nearby bars. :rolleyes1
Grand Cayman - Definitely Tortuga rum cake tasting and BUYING and some Tortuga Rum to go with it! We may do "Boatswain's Adventure Marine Park" to check out the turtles and get some beach time through Disney. (We did the Atlantis Submarine last time)
Cozumel - Just wandering (We've done "Dolphin Discovery" at Chankanaab National Park and "Cozumel Beach Break" at Playa Mia Beach on previous trips)
Castaway Cay - watching the kids so Ms Mary & Jeff, the bride and groom, can have a day to themselves of the other side of the island. :bride:pirate:

How kind of you. :goodvibes However, we are not doing FE. It is not that I do not want to. It is just DH is not quite the DISney fanatic that I am. He doesn't get the obsession so I do not do too many extra things. DDs dress up for pirate night; I wear black and white dinner clothing, but DH doesn't even try. I do not complain at all because I am just thankful that we get to go on the cruise and then to the parks. He doesn't have to be obsessed like me as long as we get to take our Disney vacations. ;)

We have noted her birthday (September 8) on our reservation so she will be getting the cake and singing in the dining room. We plan to buy her a tiara to wear to dinner that evening too. Also, she is swimming with the dolphins on her birthday so she is very excited about that.

I got an email from my TA yesterday evening. Our documents arrived! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: DH is going by after work to pick them up!

Depends how far you go. I'm not planning on any Disney excursions at the ports but I'm only going up to 10 minutes away so I'm not worrying about it. If we were going to St. Thomas and I wanted to take a trip to St. John with the kids which is like a bus and ferry ride that takes ~1 hr, I'd probably be a little hesitant.

I didn't do the ship tour on our first cruise and didn't have trouble navigating around the boat. I'll all make sense when you're on board, especially with the knowledge of the DIS. :thumbsup2

Key West - trolley on my own (probably)
Grand Cayman - undecided, either taking taxi to 7 Mile Beach or staying on board
Cozumel - dolphin encounter @ chankanaab, I think @ 1
Castaway Cay - parasailing, I think @ 11

No docs today as I watch the UPS man drive by. I always do a Disney excursion because I have been on a Disney cruise before where they have left people because they were not back on the ship. I don't want that to be me. Yes, I hate waiting for the buses, but I do. I will take the Trolley tour on my own because I know that the tour isn't long and I know where the ship is and we don't have to be back till late. I am not a "winging-it" type of person. If you do make your own plans and we end up going to a different island due to weather, you have to cancel, etc. and I didn't want that hassle either. Cruise to me = no stress!!!:cool1:

In key West - We are renting an electric car

In Grand Cayman - we are during the island tour so we can go to hell.

In Castaway - just relaxing by the beach

In Cozumel - be there 4 times so just doing some shopping and my rent a jeep for the day and wandering.

Sorry, but that made me laugh out loud.:rotfl::rotfl2:

You're not by chance doing the one with the Butterfly Farm through Disney are you?

It's the turtle farm without the butterfly farm and it is thru disney, it's called Grand Cayman Island tour @ 8:15 am. And we are still going to Hell. :rotfl2:
