09/05/09 LABORless MAGICal Meanderers

On port days you can stay on the ship and enjoy many of the things onboard. However, there are many more acitivites planned for guests on sea days that are just not available while at port. There are some things on the ship that are closed down port days.
Hmm, good point. I probably didn't think of that because I barely got to do anything I wanted last time. This time, I'm definitely doing the Art of Entertaining, I hope . . . .

We are also sailing with you...we would also like to join the fish extender group...

We are in cabin 7530

Phillip (2 turning 3 duing the cruise on September 11th)

:welcome:

My wife and I will also be doing this cruise. We will be celebrating our 24th Anniversary on Sept 5. I am hoping to get Palos for that night so if your table is short two on the first night we will join you on Sunday.

I have a res at Poly for the same time with FD so I have to make up my mind for sure as which one to do. The cruise is ahead by about 90% but am also wondering about this swine flu and Cozumel. DW says it would be fine with her if they just left the ship docked at CC overnight so we could stay all night and the extra day there.:banana:. We haven't done WDW in 20years without chidren so that's why we thought about going there. We don't know how to make ADRs without making sure there is something to eat for our dear ones. :lmao:

I hope to meet up with some of yall on the cruise and will be lurking on here for more updates.

:welcome:

Hopefully by then Cozumel will be fine to sail to. Do both, cruise AND WDW! :thumbsup2

Hi Everyone,

As the time for the cruise draws nearer I thought it would be an appropriate time to ask everyone when and where they would like to meet. The suggestion has been that we meet on the first day so that we recognise each other throughout the rest of the cruise. Past cruisers have also suggested a time of 3pm and in the promenade lounge as this is a spacious area. What do we all think?

I could not recall when the lifeboat drill was but I though from memory it was after that time and should give us plenty of time to meet up for a chat.

Anyway, look forward to hearing your thoughts:)

3pm @ Promenade Lounge is perfect. Then we can go straight for the drill and when we see each other in the life jackets, we'll know who we are and can make fun of the way we look. :goodvibes On second thought, super neon orange IS my color . . . :rolleyes1

Hopefully by then Cozumel will be fine to sail to. Do both, cruise AND WDW! :thumbsup2

The cows would miss me if I was gone that long.:goodvibes:goodvibes

OK the wait is driving me crazy so I've decided to take my daughter, Wilson, to Disney World at the end of June. Preston will be at camp. When he was Wilson's age I would take him all of the time - just the two of us. Wislon hasn't had that luxury. So, we are going on a girls trip. A true "princess" adventure.

I'm so excited... something to plan.

This sounds good to us too. Hard to believe we have less than 4 months to go! Hopefully, they will all pass quickly :)

We'll be there too!
Lise, Chuck and Sabrina (8).
Celebrating our 15th Anniv (9/3) at WDW, Sabrina's Bday (a little early - it's 9/21)

We're getting excited. Looking forward to officially doing the Western itinerary. We've done it accidentally twice when hurricanes changed up our Eastern to a partial Western. Love Grand Cayman and Tortuga Rum Cakes. Dolphins in Cozumel are great fun. This will be our first time in Key West. pirate:

Past Trips:
DL - Dec 1964 and many times since
WDW - Spring 1996 (working in FL)
WDW AS Movie - Sept 2004 (Spent 10th Anniv. waiting for Hurricane Francis to pass over)
DCL 4-Day Cozumel only - Sept 2004 (Booked as 7-Day Eastern - Thanks Hurricane Francis)
DCL 7-Day Semi-Western - Sept 2005 (Booked Eastern again - went West due to Hurricane Rita)
DCL 7-Day Eastern - Halloween 2006 (Finally made it to Eastern!)

Well everyone... I figured it has to be getting close enough to the end of the month to post the next calender.

And did everyone else get their cruise documents in the mail? Online bookings for CC members: June 7th. Who's staying online at midnight with me? :surfweb:

OK my first attmpt at a Quote...hope it works.

Midnight where? Orlando? I'm in Oregon it would only be 9 pm here

I was wondering how fast the excursions will fill up. I'm glad that you don't think it will be too bad. Since the DSIL and DNiece can't book at the same time we can, I think we're just gonna wait until they can and do it all at the same time. I would hate to book ours and then they try to book and not be able to get the same thing.

You'll be fine. We have booked our excursions on the ship as often as not (I'm not suggesting that though). Two of our three Disney Cruises changed itineraries after leaving the dock due to Hurricanes. Those poor folks in publications had to reprint the Navigator. :headache:

How awesome that you were able to save so much on the Dolphin Encounter. I wonder why it's so much higher to go through DCL?

I like knowing that Disney knows were we are and where to look if we don't make it back to the ship on time. (I felt so sorry for the folks running down the dock as their ship left the dock at Cozumel). Also the Disney staff handled all the un-booking/ rebooking issues due to itinerary changes.

Originally we weren't going to do the Dolphin Discovery due to the cost in St Thomas (you take a boat to another island if I remember right). But when the ports changed and we were in Cozumel for my daughters 5th Bday of course she had to be kissed by a dolphin. :lovestruc

We liked the little beach at Dolphin Discovery Chankanaab National Park. Don't book the last couple time slots so you can have time to play before the last ride back. It's like a mini beach excursion for free. With the unexpected itinerary change they put us into taxis. I bet they usually have vans.

Here's a link to their photo gallery. You can see the cute little cove and the pool. There's a photo of the "ruins" too. Remember it's Mexico so things can be little rustic here and there.

(sorry you'll have to cut and paste as I can't do links with under 10 posts)

Hello Everyone! I'll be joining you all on the Magic. I'm Karen (37), DH (39),
DD(11) and DD(8). We are so excited to be on the Western! We sailed the Eastern last year and it was gorgeous. It really seams so far away....but hopefully it will be here in no time! I just booked for this trip on Friday......got one of the SPH rooms! Yay!:cool1:

Hi Karen -I have a DD(8) too! Sabrina turns 9 just after we get back. We did Eastern a couple years back. Fun:woohoo:

:dance3:Welcome LiseG:dance3:

Looks like you have a wealth of experience on the DCL, you lucky thing!! I have added your details to the first page. Great to meet you:)

Hello Everyone! We would like to join your group! DH(Dave,38)and I(Karen,39)will be on the Sept. 5th Magic. We have room 6058 and can't wait! This will be our first Disney cruise without kids(we have been on 2 previous cruises with our children). Although I guess I will technically be with a child as I will be about 22 weeks pregnant. We would love to meet everyone from the board as I think it would be fun to get to know others on the cruise. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone before we leave.
