09/05/09 LABORless MAGICal Meanderers

We're in Disney World arrived this morning after a hectic day and night.
Our DD decided at the very last moment (3:45pm yesterday) to join us on the cruise for my birthday. I managed to book flights for Saturday for her and her friend. Booked the cruise for them at 5:15pm yesterday afternoon - what a rush. Cat 7 was the cheapest available stateroom!!! However they have been upgraded to a Cat 4 a few staterooms from us!
So this is going to be a Cruise of first ... as I mentioned on my first post it will be my first time aboard for my birthday. Will also be DD first time aboard in her own stateroom, DD friend's first Disney Cruise and the very first cruise organized by my DH. He even made us door magnets - first for him too.
I am so HAPPY:dance3: :cheer2: that our DD will be on the cruise and with me for my birthday!!!!
Hope to see many of you aboard!

Sounds so exciting, nerve racking, hectic and fun all at the same time. Hope you are having fun at WDW!!!

Ok Roll Call!!! How many adults are planning to dress up for the Pirate Party?pirate:pirate:pirate: :banana::banana::banana:

We're dressing for the formal nights. Have pirate outfits for Pirate night but have Palo Dinner Reservations for that night too as it's my birthday - so pirate dress will depend on what time we finish dinner and if we have time to change for the party! pirate:

Yes it was hectic - but so worth it and I'm sooooooo happy she's with us on the cruise ...... !

Does anyone know if there is a limit to the amount of alcohol we can take onto the ship. We've never done this before and always bought Wine Packages aboard. However we're thinking of buying a few bottles of wine and taking them with s aboard on Saturday. Has anyone done this before and is there a limit to how much. I know bring alcohol off at the end of the cruise has import limits but what about taking aboard to consume aboard. (Apologies if this has been asked and answered before on the thread).

Has anyone travelled from Wilderness Lodge to the Port with Cruise Line transfers?
We're staying at Wilderness Lodge and were told at check-in the Disney Cruise Line no longer takes luggage etc from here. We have to organize our own luggage to the port with us on the bus!!!
All our previous cruises our luggage was fetched from our resort room in morning and we took the bus a little later. Those resorts were Grand Floridian and Beach Club.
Does anyone have experience with our current transfer situation?
Thanks

I believe there is no "limit". You have to bring an opener though or they will charge you.

Ugh! That is awful. How can they not take your luggage? Can you put it on the bus with you? That is what I would expect. I would call them or ask someone at the desk. We took the transfers but our luggage always went. We stayed at the Hyatt at the airport, and they would take our luggage. Let us know what happens and GOOD LUCK!!

I believe we can take the luggage on the bus with us but have to organize everything ourselves. Bell service to fetch from the room and then out to the bus - no auto luggage pickup as before! Just thought it's really strange. We also stayed at the Hyatt once in the past as you mentioned they even pick up from outside your room door there! So not sure why so different now at Wilderness Lodge. Apparently they used to do the usual auto luggage transfer's from here but since they took the Cruise Line desk from Wilderness Lodge we won't have auto luggage pick-up!

I get so tired of all the cutbacks - we are spoiled. What can we say?

Oh we are so jealous... Upgraded. Well congrats on the pixie dust. I guess Disney has 2 more nights to spread some of it our way.

You will think I am silly but I just got back from CVS and found the cutest things for the FE's. I just came home and restuffed all the bags with some fun things! I couldn't resist and it doesn't help that we are leaving in 2 days and I AM MORE EXCITED THEN EVER!!!!! I think there are only like 4 families left on the boards :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Sandi :)
I don't think that you are silly at all!!
I did the same thing - found some more cute FE items & had to repack the bags.
I am NOT going into another store before we leave. :upsidedow

We are one of the few families still left on the boards. We are leaving very early Saturday morning. Should be at the port by 12:00!!

I, too, AM SO EXCITED!!
My son & granddaughter are calling me every couple of hours. :cloud9:

Ok, it's finally hit us now. I still have to go to work tomorrow for a half day but I doubt I will accomplish anything. Can't wait to see you all on the ship.

:cool1:

Wonder if we will see any FE repeats. ha ha! I am clever when it comes to scrapbooking, but making my own FE's - forget it and I look forward to seeing the FE's made by people. It seems like we have some talented people on this cruise. The Incredibles - good luck working tomorrow. I have one more day of home schooling, even though I was tempted to go to the Magic Kingdom for the day. I know, I shouldn't! I hope everyone left has a safe, wonderful drive, flight/trip to Orlando and we will see you on the beautiful Magic on Saturday - I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!!

almost 9pm, still have packing to do but at least my mani/pedi looks good! :thumbsup2

our flight is in the am, see you guys soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana:

I am finishing laundry so I can pack. Have to work all day tomorrow. We will drive in early Saturday! I hope everyone has a safe trip and we will see you all on the boat. The kids are so excited I hope they sleep tonight and can focus on school tomorrow. Who am I kidding, this is how I feel. After the week I have had at work, I wish we were leaving NOW!
