Hope you get to feeling better soon...you have alot to do!:scared1:

So I last left you with all of us leaving our resort room to head on out to the TTC to catch the Monorail to Epcot for the rest of the day….

I first though had to make a quick and easy stop at GS… it wouldn’t be an issue and I’d catch up to the rest up them shortly….

Or so I thought?!

It turned out some huge family reunion was checking in and then some other people were in line for the Dining & Conseiers desk. I didn’t want to step out and risk not getting another chance to cancel the early morning ADR for the next day that we decided not to use after all. It did take quite sometime and I was getting impatient to say the least. But finally it was my turn and a quick minute later my business was done!

Now I was rushing to catch up to everyone and the muggy hot air was taking a toll on my breathing…this was probably looking back the start of the problems leading to me getting pneumonia upon our return home…anyhow a few puffs of my albuterol inhaler and I was on my way. I ran into a mother and daughter trying to navigate the paths to the TTC and ending up walking with them and chatting about our trips, etc….

By the time I (we) got to the Monorail ramps…DH looks perplexed and slightly annoyed by my delay….

OH well, we only waited a mere minute longer and the monorail was there to take us on our way. But those looming dark clouds had me a bit nervous! It was sometime before 3 pm at this point.

Here are some views of us entering Epcot from the Monorail:

100_2089-1.jpg

100_2091.jpg

Once in the park we checked the wait times for TT and MS and made some quick decisions to do The Seas w/ Nemo first. DH and I decided to be cautious and cover up the stroller w/ a poncho first just in case….

100_2096-1.jpg

We then headed in the line, we wanted to ride the new Clam-mobiles and the line was a bit long but it kept moving. According to my notes it was under a 20-minute wait. Luckily the queue line wasn’t all boring and we had some fun things to look at like this:

100_2097-1.jpg

my pic didn’t turn out, but the part where it seemed like you were walking under water was cool too.

Once on the Clam-mobiles

100_2101-1.jpg

The ride was very cute:

100_2105-1.jpg

100_2107-1.jpg

The ending w/ the real fish and the Nemo characters was very clever and fun to see.

Once inside the “water/sea station” we checked out various areas and Margaret liked looking at the fish and the kids liked the interactive games.

100_21081.jpg

100_2111-1.jpg

100_2112-1.jpg

100_21141.jpg

We also checked out the big tanks, but it was dark and extra chilly w/ the AC cranked up way high we didn’t wander long there. We too stood in line for the Turtle Talk w/ Crush and got to see that show.

I can’t remember all the details, but I know Margaret was a bit squirmy and I think Michael sat w/ us, but the girls sat on the floor w/ other kids in the crowd. It was very good and measured up to all the great hype it receives. It is worth viewing again!:thumbsup2

When we were done w/ Nemo we headed out to be pleased no rain had occurred and some sun was peaking thru the clouds…so maybe the rain would stay away!

Next up we headed over to TT and DH, the twins and I went on. Grandma stayed behind in the shade w/ the little girls and bought some frozen lemonades and 2 of those small balloon balls w/ Minnie Mouse on them…do you know the ones I’m talking about that the CM’s play w/ at the stands to sell around the parks?

The wait did not take too long which was good since Michael was a bit apprehensive and nervous, but in the end he did enjoy it, which I was glad for! Aldine LOVED it! And really wanted to go again. For me being my 2nd time on the ride I don’t remember it being as FAST as the 1st time I rode in 2005, but it still was fun. We stopped in the gift shop on the way out and I bought I few things, a WDW character license plate holder for our van back home, a purple mini car topper replica key chain and Michael got 1 or 2 new character cars to add to his collection he started back in 05.

Here is our pic from the ride:
image002.jpg

and the twins in front of TT:
100_2115-1.jpg

We then met back up w/ Grandma and the girls, while DH went on ahead to use the FP he got earlier for MS. We hung out and rested while we waited…

and waited

and waited even some more….

And yep you guessed it even some more….

Here's Margaret in her stroller waiting patiently w/ us:
100_2116-1.jpg

What was taking DH so long?

Michael and the rest of us frankly were getting pretty antsy at this point, not to mention I know the time was getting late and we still had half of WS to explore tonight!

What happened to DH and his MS adventure?

Would it be an adventure to remember?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PS to Amy (GA) thanks for the vote of confidence and get well wishes...still feeling pretty icky, but trucking along and have gotten a few things done and if you can believe that list was just for this week!

Plus glad to hear you are well and I hope that new job is well liked even if it's rough.

Be back soon have a good rest of the week!

Great update! We love Nemo... it is definitely one of Zachray's favorite rides. I'm hoping we can go through the regular queue this time - we have used the GAC in the past and haven't been able to fully enjoy the theming. We haven't seen Turtle Talk with Crush yet either - we just missed a show last time and didn't stick around for the next one. Waiting was a HUGE problem for Alex during the last two trips but I'm hopeful it will be better this time. I don't want to send him over the edge, but I think it will be a good opportunity to practice - what better place to wait in line than Disney... at least there's usually something interesting to look at. :thumbsup2

Great update. Glad Michael stuck it out for TT.

Hopefully things work out okay for MS.

Good luck getting your stuff done while not feeling well. It's a tough time of the year to be sick...seems like time is super short right now, doesn't it?!?

Thanks Amy... our trick for TTw/C, which didn't seem to cause any major issues was when the people/crowd starting lining up or more like gathering for TTw/C most of us waited in line while DH kept a watchful eye on Michael looking at the surrounding activities in that little room, then when the line began to move we called him to get in to walk in...I would think that may work for you, and probably be not so crowded.:thumbsup2

Great update.

Glad Michael stuck it out for TT. me too!

Thanks, I'm actually feeling a bit worse since last night...it was the kids school Holiday concert I was practically hacking up my lung during the 2nd half. Called the doc to today and started some stronger med. I hope it will do the trick, have 2 Holiday/Christmas get-togethers this Sat I'd hate to miss...

sitting here at the computer uses no real energy so at least I can have some "fun" till Margaret is napping and Mae is at school this afternoon so I can really REST.

Glad for the well wishes!

hi all,

sorry I'm sure you've all been on the edge of your seats just dying to know what has happened to DH on MS....;)

Our home computer crashed and burned :badpc: last Friday night and DH just finished rebuilding it last night. Dosen't look like we lost any hard-drive data, but all saved internet data is gone:headache:

I am finally feeling better, not 100 % but better and of course the older girls are starting their own colds  just in time for Christmas....

2 days left of school for the 3 of them then we have 2 weeks off till after the New Year. Trying to have a nice schedule to help Michael stay in routine and have things to do each day, breaks are always super hard for him.

Finishing up my HUGE to do list before Christmas over these next few days as well.

Just about all shopping (minus one thing) done, have major wrapping to do still and misc things.

If all goes well I'll try and get you a Disney update here tomorrow.

Have a good end of the week and weekend and stay warm if I don't get back right away.

J-

Hope you get your computer back up and running properly. Two weeks off!! :scared1: I know what you mean about breaks being tough. We have two days of school next week - assuming school isn't canceled Monday with more snow in the forecast tomorrow night. We got a foot last night - luckily today is just Saturday - it's not helping the economy around her though. Everybody has been focused on the weather/power - not leaving much time for shopping. And so many people lost all of their frozen/refrigerated food so they have to replace that...

We finally got power back Thursday night but Alex was out of school for 4 days. Three from the ice storm and then 1 (wed.) from snow. Mother Nature isn't cutting us a break. Zachary missed 3 because he doesn't go to school on Fridays. Luckily the one day he had school was the day of his holiday party/concert. I have both boys scheduled to go to a structured program for 3 of the days over break at the same place Alex goes for his social skills group - it's run by OTs and SLPs.

Good Luck over break and with your holiday preparations.

Only 3 days left to go. The beginning of break was actually worse and then for Christmas Eve all our plans went thru the roof...it wasn't a fun day for anyone. Things have been a bit tough for Michael, but we are getting thru. I'll be glad for Monday for lots of reasons.

Thanks for thinking of us.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all!

sorry for the break yet again in this TR, but I'm sure you understnad w/ all 4 kids home and the holidays, things have been busy. But we've done some fun things like delivering cookies and treats to our friends and new Pastor in a snow storm...visiting the library, watching movies, playing on the Wii, celebrating Christmas at home and then re-do of Eve the following Saturday during a freakish rainstorm and area flooding, a trip to Chicago's Science and Industry Muesum (w/ 50, 000 other people), twins doing a school break camp at the local farm/zoo, Mae getting an outing alone w/ my parents, NYE us out w/ friends for games and a popcorn feast, NYD a trip to IKEA and the twins out for a movie w/ Grandma.

It has been a busy but mostly fun two weeks, glad for school and our schedules to get a little more regular though next week.

I wrote out my 2009 "Year to Design" (if you visit the Scrapbooking threads) Goals and one of those personal goals was to finish this TR very soon.

I plan to type out all the rest of the posts and get the pictures uploaded in the next week so then I can get zooming here and finish up the last 2 and 1/2 days of our WDW June 08 trip for me and you :goodvibes

Thanks for sticking w/ me.

Here are some things to come:

 Will DH ever get off MS in Epcot?

:umbrella: Does it ever rain?

:worried: We need a table PLEASE!

:laundy: my never ending laundry day

:wizard: special nighttime suprise

:wave2: Hey I know you....

popcorn:: more grapes...we need more grapes!

::MinnieMo pluto: :smickey: character FUN!

pirate: YO HO It's a Pirates life for Michael

 RUN! it's the DME bus!!!!!

AND the :thumbsup2 of our trip and the :headache: of it too

plus maybe a sneak peek into the upcoming mousescrapper family WDW adventure in the pre-pre works....:rolleyes1

I just found your TR and I am loving it. I am glad to see you were able to have a great time with 4 kids. I currently have 3 and my husband wants more, but I am worried how it would be on vacations, but you have made me feel much better!

I am not talented at all, but I would love to know how you made the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party hats!

:welcome: mom of 2 princesses thanks for saying Hi and joing my TR fun. thanks for the vote of confidence of taking 4 kids to WDW. You can do it too. Plan very well and have FUN! Hey we surrived and can't wait to go back again!

The hats, Ok the idea was mine but I really should give props to my DH he did most of the work.

Basically we took the regular party hats and made an ear template tracing a cup bottom for the circle. The DH modified the circle so it had a rectangle on one side (does that make sense?) He cut the ears out of black poster board and made slits in the hats w/ an exacto knife (he made a template for that too so he would get all the slits the same). Then he put the rectangle part of ear through the slit and cut it in half then folded each half down and taped in place (this is inside the hat). Then I traced circles out of black felt and we adhered them to the front side of the ear. I also googled the original MMC logo and printed them out off my computer, cut them out and placed on the front of each hat. Finally I wrote each kids name on the backs of the hats.

Geez, hope that helps :thumbsup2

Thanks for the bump Amy,

yes I am dilegently slaving away typing up and getting the rest of this TR ready to post away. Promise to post the end of Day 5) tomorrow!

the continuation of Day 5):

Ok so we’ve all been hanging here for the better of 2 weeks awaiting what is going to happen on Mission Space and w/ my DH riding it for his first time….

So a quick recap first.

We (DH, the twins, & I) just came off a great run on TT and DH left to use his FP on MS. The kids I did some shopping and we caught up w/ my DMom and the other girls. We decided to take a break and have some frozen lemonades in the shade while we waited.

But that waiting lasted a super LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time! I tried calling him on his cell but it went into voice mail. The kids were getting antsy and the time was slipping by fast. It had now been over a half hour from when he left till he finally called me.

He was STUCK!!!

He said they had just boarded his spacecraft thing….and the take off countdown had begun when BOOM! and the lights went out.

Umm…Houston we have a problem :confused3

Is this what is suppose to happen?

Emergency lighting when on and he thinks a good several minutes passed when suddenly the door opened and in popped a nice CM’s head. DH and his 3 mission partners, who by the way did not speak English as their strong language of choice had to climb, yes climb out of the ride. It was up and down a series of ladders and platforms before getting back out to the normal “docking area”.

He was given a “whenever you can time” FP to come back later, but he decided since the other units were still running he’d just go now, his mission partners opted not to…

I’d have been with them.:worried:

But he did ride finally and everything worked like Disney Magic and he enjoyed himself, plus he’ll have a pretty good story to tell.:hyper2:

Meanwhile the rest of us hightailed it ½ around the countries up to Italy…we were pretty tired by the time we got there! In hindsight we should have taken the boat across.:headache:

DH finally met up with us some hour later from his original departure.

Up Next Countries and pictures!

He was STUCK!!!

Oh no!! Which color did he ride? I rode the tamer side (green?) with my mom last April and wasn't that impressed... I guess I need the thrill part to really enjoy it - but I'm scared to death that I am walking around with a preexisting heart condition and I will keel over after taking a spin on the hard core version. :rolleyes1

We'll ride the tame version with the boys this year - Zachary is really into space right now.

I'm glad everything turned out OK in the end. :goodvibes

I once got stuck on Test Track. We got to walk out on cat walks....it's kinda cool to do/see if you don't have anyone waiting on you.

Despite the circumstances, he said it was cool....

Next update coming soon, just need to edit my pic's for it in photo-bucket!

So we last left off with us arriving 1/2 way around the World Showcase

Here is Michael at the FW end before we made our journey...
100_2117-1.jpg

Italy:

100_2120-1.jpg

100_2126-1.jpg

100_2129-1.jpg

Here's the view looking back out over the lagoon.
100_2128.jpg

Once the majority of us made it here, we found a bench to sit and rest and have some water. There was a show of Romeo & Juliet going on in the square that the twins went to get a closer look at.

100_2123-1.jpg

100_2122-1.jpg

What we saw was very clever and funny.

In 2005 the twins did the passport books and collected the tags for their masks. Mae was only 2 then, so now she did the mask part. She picked out her mask and got her 1st stamp and blue mask paper tag here.

(I took 2 pictures of here at just about every country w/ her mask on & off, several of which I share as we continue our tour of the WS together)

100_2119-1.jpg

she's standing under the pole there...

When DH caught up with us and took a breather

Then we started our tour back toward Mexico.

Next stop was Germany:

100_2141-1.jpg

100_2140-1.jpg

100_2137-1.jpg

We looked around in the gift shops while Aldine watched the doll makers in the back and Mom & I went  at the prices of them and their clothing….Mae colored more of her mask and picked up a yellow teddy bear tag.

100_2134-1.jpg

100_2138-1.jpg

I also saw this in the gift shop:

100_2136-1.jpg

Anybody who’s a kid of the ‘80’s has to remember watching this….

My Mom also bought some beer coasters for my DBro back home and some gummy bears for us to share. Yum!

On the way to China we stopped to look at the train town and take some pictures:

100_2132-1.jpg

100_2131-1.jpg

Once in China, we headed to the huge gift shop in the back…

100_2144-1.jpg

100_2145-1.jpg

100_2151-1.jpg

Here’s a ceiling shot for Heidi ;)

100_2146-1.jpg

Mae got another stamp on her mask stick and her name spelled out in Chinese characters, plus a yellow kite tag.

100_21501.jpg

We also bought several souvenirs here too:

Michael picked out a red dragon statue and a Mushu pin for his lanyard, Aldine got a Chinese music drum, and I got a cloth red circle pouch ( I always buy one of these or a wallet, etc…when we visit!)

Due to the time after we left here we passed up Norway and headed to the Mexican Cantina as that was where we planned to have dinner and rest and wait for the “Illuminations” show.

But UGH! :headache: Big time the place was beyond super packed and the food lines were equally long. I did not really have another plan in mind for food/viewing and became a bit stressed by this seeming impossible situation…

We chatted it out, thought about some other options and DH walked thru the seating area several times in hopes to find a table(s) for us.

Will the crowds thin out?

Will we get a table to sit and eat?

Will we be able to watch the show for here or not….:confused3
