Thanks. Yes, people still wonder if this will last!We knew each other less than a month, I was 17 and still in high school, we married on Friday night and he left for VietNam on Sunday. All the cards stacked against us. BUT we met at Disneyland, had our first kiss on the bridge in front of the castle and the MAGIC has remained thru the 40 years.

I LOVE your story! Young love can last. We met when I was 15 & my husband was 17. We have been married 42 years. My husband did not have to go to VietNam, he spent his time at Ft Knox. Those were difficlut times.

There is a book that was just published called Project Everlasting. We were interviewed during the research for the project, but did not make the cut of getting "in the book" because we were still youngsters at the time and had only been married 38 years.
Hi all.. just checking in to say Hello.. Ive been so busy lately.. I will be back when I can... If you need me, feel free to PM me.. I always log on check my PMs and log off without every checking the threads..

I read the prior posts about yours and DrHug's romance story. It brought a smile to my face that your love endured the distance of a war and a crazy time in history. My Father didn't serve overseas during Vietnam but was in the National Guard. My parents were divorced and he had sole custody of us. I remember on his once a month weekends of training, he'd take my sister and I to the Army Post with him. It was fun. I'm not sure if we he was suppose to take us, but no one seemed to mind.
