The Doubloon in St Thomas is calling my name. We have done the island tours (Under 2 flags St Marteen and the St Thomas and St John Tours) and they all were fun for the first visit to the island. The 2 flags and the St Thomas tours are short enough that you can do them and still have a little beach time. The Golden Eagle Catamarran was fun. (St Marteen). I think we plan to do the Butterfly Farm in St Marteen this trip. We will be watching the Spoiledbrats 14 month old so she can take her 13 year old to the Dolphin Encounter.

I'm here too, just hanging out on a hot Jersey Shore Sunday. We got our copy of Deathly Hallows yesterday (pre-ordered for DS as a Father's Day gift so he reads it first!), so I'm re-reading Order of the Phoenix and then Half-Blood Prince. By the end of the week it should be my turn with Deathly Hallows.

We just treated the pool with algaecide (sp?), so we can't use if for another hour or so. I'm sitting here putting some finishing touches on the logo, and should be able to post it tomorrow or the next day.

We still haven't gotten any info from DCL, but we're starting to think about plans for the islands. We want to do some kind of historical/cultural tour on St. Maarten, and something interesting on St. Thomas. We don't want to spend too much time on the beach, but might like to spend a bit of time on one of the islands, and, of course, there's always Castaway Cay!

Well, back to the logo and the housework!

Beth

OK, here's a prototype--still needs a lot of refining, I'd like to put a border around it (maybe candy canes and DCL logos?) so that it will stand out from the actual shirt.

Please feel free to make suggestions, edit, etc.

I like it. What about carrying the color of the shirt into it somewhere? Maybe like having the grass in the background the same color (or similar)

That's a good idea! I'll see what I can do tomorrow. Right now, I'm exhausted and I'm going to head upstairs and read some more Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

I do like the logo alot!

The Under 2 Flags is a good tour to get an overall view of the island and a bit of history and info on the culture of the island as well. We try to do a tour of this type on each new island we visit. We are not too much for lying on the beach either.

15 gal of wine bottled, 5 more to go. Somebody :rolleyes1 dropped one of the car boys (well it was very heavy!) and the sediment at the bottom got all shook up.:sad2: DrHug had to put clarifier in it again to settle it back to the bottom and now we need to wait at least a week. Since we are going to Kennewick, WA next weekend for neice's wedding I think it will settle for 2 weeks. ;)

So, does that mean your carboys aren't glass? I've heard a lot of good things about the "Better Bottle" plastic carboys. I plan on getting a beer brewing kit soon.

LOVE IT Beth:cool1: :thumbsup2

Saturday was a Belgian holiday, so we've got a 3 day weekend. I read "Invisible Prey" by John Sandford, and am halfway through "Shadow Dance" by Julie Garwood.

My sister already got the packet on the shore excursions, even though I just booked her cabin about 10 days ago. :confused3

I'm not sure if we're going to do any shore excursions. We booked them every day on the Med cruise. And next June we're cruising the Baltics which will also be a lot of excursions. We're probably just going to sleep in, enjoy the ship, maybe rent some equipment at CC, and of course do some shopping:banana:

Js3Mom: Glad you like it! It had great beginnings, so there was something to work with. I'm searching the web for a clearer picture of the carollers, but so far haven't had any luck. I'll do some more refining tonight when I get home.

I'm still working my way through The Order of the Phoenix. I even brought it with me to the office because I won't be going outside at lunchtime today. We're having torrential rain (again:sad2:), so I'll curl up in the conference room and read. At least I won't have to water the garden this afternoon!

I imagine that we'll get our package in a couple of days since it will probably go to our TA (Dreams Unlimited) first. We definitely want to do some kind of excursion since it's our first visit to that part of the world. I want to take some pictures and get some good information so that when I return I can give my granddaughter some good history and geography lessons to work on. She loves learning about other parts of the world.

They are glass, but was only a couple inches off the ground. They are really, really heavy.

Let me see Brack; 2,000 by Monday? Where's Becka when we need her? Do we have an official Mathematician on this thread?
DH (Bill) is a Mathematician. However, he usually just lurks on here. He needs to post more!:rolleyes1

The logo looks great! Thank you for all your work on it!:goodvibes

You got that right good buddy! ;) Except for when you go "Walkin' the Dog". If we don't know how to do it, you'll Show Us How To Walk The Dog!
I think you copped a few Pirates that way too. LOL.:rotfl: :lmao:

I read this out loud to JoJo (who is asleep on the couch next to me) and he looked up at me like I was crazy. :rotfl:

We are still not 100% sure what excursions we want to do on the cruise. Anyone on here have any plans? I keep going back and forth on our itinerary. I guess it also depends on what is available. From all our research, we are narrowing it down to. . .

St. Maarten - 12-Metre Regatta (SANS CHILDREN!):cool1:
St. Thomas - Coral World/Coki Beach (on our own in a taxi w/the children)
Castaway Cay - Couples Cabana Massage
OR
Vista Spa Villa - Villa for Two

The Regatta sounds like a lot of fun! Anyone want to join us? Initially, we were planning on relaxing on a beach in St. Maarten. But, the Regatta got us excited to try something new and totally NOT us.

Description from the DCL site: 12-Metre Regatta
Be a part of the most exciting water sport event in the Caribbean! Whether you're a beginner or an expert, put the wind in your sails and become a crew member on a vessel that's competed in America's Cup. Train to grind a winch, trim a sail and punch a stopwatch just like the experts; or just sit back, enjoy the spectacular view and feel the wind on your face

Port of Call: St. Maarten Activity Type: Water Sports Activity Level: Active Duration: 3 hours Price: Adult: $75 (ages 12 and UP)
Child: N/A Ages: 12 And Up Additional Information
No previous sailing experience necessary.
At the completion of the excursion, Guests may walk into the downtown area or return back to the ship.

I know that was my excuse this weekend for not being on here!! By the way, Harry Potter #7...I LOVE IT!!!!! So back to the Dis, we received our packet too!!! Now the only problem is trying to decide what/if excursions to do. My DW keeps saying the best excursion is free...a hammock and a cold drink. That's all she wants to do on the cruise is lay on the beaches. :confused3 I don't know if we're going to do anything else. One or two of the island tours looks pretty neat. Suggestions?

We're still in Dallas so I hope our packages are waiting for us at home.

If this is your first cruise then I would suggest one of the bus tours around the islands. It gives you a good overall look then you can shop in the main town before getting back onboard.

When are you heading home? Is Annette with you? Does she need a shopping buddy during the day while you are busy? I'd be more than happy to bring her to Grapevine Mills or Stonebriar Mall. I don't need my arm to be twisted too much to shop. I am a stay at home Mom. So, I am pretty flexible, but would have the kids in tow. Just let me know. Thanks!:goodvibes
