Dec 8, 2007 dis meet. Let's plan it
Should we meet before or at the Sail Away Party? What does everyone think? We are coming from WDW before the cruise. So, we plan to be at port around 11 am and board when they let us (around 12:30). I am sure we will see some of you in the terminal if you are wearing your lime green shirt. The kids want to swim in the pools as soon as we embark before they get too crowded. So, if anyone with kids want to join us that would be great! Our children are VERY friendly. Sometimes TOO friendly.
To recap, we are (ages are cruise time) . . .
Jennifer (Me34)
Bill (DH37)
Will (DS7)
Emily (DD5)
Cole (DS2)

The DISDog and I are at camp this weekend for a Men's Retreat. It is beautiful weather and the mountains of WV are just "wonderful"!

It looks like DW and I will see POTC AWE on Monday. She's doing programs for the Parkersburg, WV Salvation Army this weekend and I'm here until Sunday afternoon.

I'll have a little bit of time to DIS this weekend. :thumbsup2 :surfweb:

:sad2: No grilling and swimming this weekend here. It rained today and is suppose to rain on Saturday, Sunday AND Monday. Booooooo! The kids have been singing the "Rain, Rain, Go Away" song. I hope it works!:rolleyes1

Brack,
I see you and Annette are scheduled for the Eastbound Panama Canal repositioning cruise. Maybe, you could talk Bill (DH) into it while we are on the cruise in December? We are already booked for the September 1, 2008 cruise right after the eastbound repositioning cruise. Maybe, we could extend our vacation? I already plan on bringing money for a down payment to rebook onboard for our next Disney cruise to get the 10% discount and stateroom credit. That might be the ideal cruise to get the discount on. The September 2008 cruise is already half paid for because we had to put $500 down each because it is a suite, Cat. 3. So, we should be able to save the money for the Panama Canal cruise too. That would be a once in a lifetime experience for the kids. Did they offer you a Disneyland and Cruise Package deal? Just curious. Because, we couldn't go to the West Coast and not visit Disneyland. Thank you in advance for the information!

The biggest problem is that the cruise is sold out and was sold out within hours. Technically right now we do not have a reservation for that cruise. We are trying to take over a reservation from someone but that might fall through.

You are right though it is a TOAL (Trip Of A Lifetime)

I hinted enough to Bill this weekend about the Panama Canal cruise. So, he looked online and it gave him the "red error" meaning no openings.:sad2: So, he called Disney Cruise Line about the Eastbound Panama Canal Repo cruise. And as you know already, it is booked solid. :guilty: So, the best we can do is keep checking back in case anyone "jumps ship". Good Luck!:shamrock: We may be jumping ship on this cruise. We are going to WDW in September 2007 with Bill's work. So, two times in one year may be excessive. I love the Mouse, but WDW is exhausting when you have three children. Bill is seriously looking into a European cruise for November 2007 on (Gasp!) another cruise line. It was one third the price of DCL on NCL, HA and RC. Does anyone on here have any experience on other cruise lines? We'd love your insight. Thanks! For know, we are still planning on this cruise. But, don't be shocked if we aren't onboard. We'll of course let you know beforehand. :goodvibes
BTW - Why is it the same price to fly one way as it is to fly roundtrip? Does anyone know?

wow I have been soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo busy I cant even Dis anymore!!! :confused3

Gotta get ready for work (again)
:sad2:

I hope to have a Holiday soon :cloud9:

Happy Memorial Day !!!!!!

We have not sailed anything but Disney, but I have read good reports of RC written by people that love Disney cruises. If you are interested in the Panama Canal Disney cruises.....we are on the westbound and there are some cabins available. ;) :rolleyes1 There will probably be some openings on the eastbound also when the final payments become due at 90 days, but the cost has skyrocketed.

We hope you don't decide not to cruise with us, but we will understand if you need to. We will be sad though.:sad1:

pirate: Also, the lime green shirts on the second photo is great. Do we want to wear matching shirts on embarkment day? We sure couldn't miss each other wearing lime green t-shirts! Maybe, we could individually order our t-shirts from the Disney store online? So, those that want to participate can? Just an idea. The items I ordered online last week are suppose to arrive today! Yea! So, they are pretty quick on shipping. Update: The box just arrived!:cool1:

 Do new people to this thread know about the fish extenders gift exchange? Also, do we have a master DISer list for this cruise? If not, I'd be happy to start one.

:tinker: Jennifer

We are in that group photo Brack posted and we did all order from DisneyDirect individually. The shirts were on sale for $4 each and we grabbed them. We then ironed on our own logo on the back of the shirts. It was very fun to see all the lime green DISers at the port.:grouphug:

I think we had planned to meet and greet on deck 10, starboard (which is the side facing the port - right, Brack) around 3 pm then again after the safety drill for sail away party. If we have matching shirts or some other identifier those of us who arrive early can mingle and visit at the port before they let us on board also. We will be lunching in Parrot Cay and any and all are welcome to join us there right after embarkation also.

There is no such thing as WDW and excessive. We are going for 3 days in June, 9 days in September and 16 days in December! :woohoo:

but I do have to admit it is without kids (although our 34yo "kid" is going with us in September!) :lmao:

:lmao: :rotfl: This is so true, Brack. WDW and excessive just do not go together in our world either! :lmao:

:surfweb: Bill has been online every time I see him this weekend. He has been searching prices and itineraries for other cruise lines. After watching some cruise specials we have DVRd. We both agreed that we will keep things the way they are. :cool1: The kids will have a much better time on DCL. Also, Cole will not be potty-trained by the December cruise. So, Flounder's Reef is going to come in handy. :fish: You are all right, there is no such things as Disney in excessive. :smickey: However, after a week at WDW with the kids, I need a break! :dance3: I think the kids will need a break from us too. Last time we had to drag them out of the Oceaneer's Club. Bill reminded me that he is going to be working most of the time during our September WDW trip. So, he may be at WDW. But, it is not going to be a relaxing/fun time. He was looking forward to the Wilderness Lodge in December. I am going to have to nix some "special" plans for the December trip. Since, we are going in September AND December. Money doesn't grow on trees.:teacher: But, it will be worth it! Before you know it, we'll be pulling up to Port Canaveral getting ready to board the Magic. We can't wait!:cool1:

What kind of logo/wording/design did you put on the back?

I have attached some links for t-shirts I found online. I guess this is the 2007 Disney logo shirt. I assume the prices will go down towards the end of summer. So, if we can wait. . .

Adults: $9.99

Kids: $7.99

These t-shirts would be fine with us. $10 is certainly not excessive for a Disney shirt. Perhaps Brack can post a photo of the back of the shirts to give you an idea of what we did. He is way more techno savvy than I!

:cool1: Bill (DH) is planning a Western Caribbean (Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and Cozumel, Mexico) cruise for February 2008 (Valentine's Day:love: ). He seems to like Carnival the best because of the Kid's Area and Programming. Our kids are too small for most of the "fun" things on Royal Caribbean. We plan to cruise with them when the kids are older. We could leave Cole (DS1) in the Kids Area on Carnival too for no additional fee. He will be two come cruise time. Initially, Bill was just going to plan the cruise and and I just show up. But, I am nosey and kept peaking over his shoulder at the computer screen. :rolleyes1 So, we can get excited together. :dance3: We use to wonder how people could go on so many cruises in a one year time. Now we know. The cruises and WDW trips are our ONLY form of vacation all year long. We have canceled all other vacation plans this year. We'd rather go with quality as opposed to quantity.:goodvibes

Bill (DH) has printed pictures and words to iron on transfers from our computer before. He made a t-shirt for my Mom from the Grandkids. It was cute with their picture on it. It looked fairly easy. Maybe, Bill, Brack or anyone else on this thread that wants to contribute, could come up with a logo for this cruise? Then, we could each just print them from our own computers and iron them on our lime green Disney t-shirts. :disrocks:
