Ok now I am frustrated - after talking about the jeans and sweater thing I thought - ohhh I will order matching Disney sweaters this year for the cruise - but the sizes for women on the disney shopping only go up to xl (men go to xxlg)

so does anyone know if in the parks or DTD I can find 2x sized clothes for women?

Thanks!

My docs came! My docs came and I am completely UNDERWHELMED!

Maybe I am spoiled, but I am used to this shiny booklet with great pictures and descriptions of excursions, etc. All I got were the immigration forms and something that looks like airline tickets of old. Oh and luggage tags.

Congrats!! on receiving..

and Yea, us too.. DCL did have some nice packages of info that has changed over the years.. :guilty:

I believe so Yes.. I have seen xxlg on the ship and in WDW but not for all clothing.. Sweatshirts I believe I did see a Tink one in XXlg

I don't do sweaters really so I don't know size wise

I just had the nicest phone call!

Way back in July I helped a former co-worker set up her first Disney Cruise. She took the Eastern, and just got back after staying at WDW for several days after the cruise.

She had the best time, and called to tell me every detail of her trip. Now I'm REALLY excited because she made it all so real!

Beth

Awww.. that was sweet of her.. I'm glad she had a Great time :thumbsup2

OT... is anyone going to be in WDW in April?

We were planning on going for DS's spring break.. April 20th - 27th.. Along with DH's Parents, DH's Sister, her hubby and their daughter.. They are flying in from Colorado..

Well our friends are taking 2 big RV's and staying at Camp Widerness or something.. :confused3 and invited the 3 of us to drive with them instead of fly.. Saving us about $1,200 in plane tickets for that week :thumbsup2

We already have a car at our house so we don't even need to rent one.. although, DH's family is renting one..

Anyone else wanna come with.. ?

:dance3:

I helped a friend book her first cruise last summer, after DCL dropped the Cat 12 gty price on the Med cruises. She wasn't able to sail with us, but she and her kids got on the ship the day we got off, so we were able to meet up in Barcelona. DD and I were so excited for them. After we got home, we spent the next 10 days saying "they are in Rome today" etc. The funny thing was the kids were underwhelmed by the whole idea of the Disney cruise, but of course they loved it and her DD cried when it was time to get off the ship.

They are now totally hooked! She got her Disney Visa after I did, they are going with us next year on the Member cruise. And she is also going to buy DVC when she gets the $ together!

I would love to...but DH is WDW'd out..he has had enough.

But if things work out, we (DH & I) will be going to DL (I've never been), at the end of March. We have those Penney's/Dockers Airline vouchers, and I am trying to get the end of March to go to LA. We want to visit DS who lives there. That week is our kids spring break, but the grandparents are taking them to the Berkshires, so it seemed like the perfect time to use the vouchers! I just hope I can get the dates and destinations. We want to fly into Vegas, and out of LAX, so we will see what happens.

....staying at Camp Widerness or something.. :confused3 a
:dance3:
Fort Wilderness...that's where I'll be staying for five VERY long nights before I move to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The things I do for my family!!!;)

I'll be going in mid-May for the Teddy Bear show at Epcot. One of my friends in the "Teddy Bear World" will be displaying her wares and has asked me to come along to assist her since she's disabled. Since she's paying, I'm going! I might bring DDIL and DGD along, but the men won't have vacation time then. It'll be a real girls' trip!

Is that where the MotorHome thingys can stay? Cause that is where they are going..

Ooohhh Do Build a Bears qualify? I should bring all 30+ of mine :goodvibes and I have old ones too that were treated and store in the attic.. They were my Grandmother's.. I can't "bear" to look at them without crying, and will Never get rid of them.. Just knowing I have them and secure is good enough for me..

I went to DL once.. We went through John Wayne Airport though and not LAX

You are an expensive friend to have.. :rotfl2:

Yes. It's really a nice campground. I'm just not quite sure that I can stay in a tent for five nights! It's been 25 years since I camped in a tent, and I haven't gotten any younger in those 25 years!:rotfl:

Most of the bears which will be displayed would be considered "art bears". I had never seen anything like these until this summer. I would think that your Grandmother's bears would probably be considered to be of this quality. I'm glad to know that you've had them treated and preserved. They just don't make them like that anymore!

My friend makes bears and sells them on Ebay. It seems like a strange way to earn a living, but if it gets me a free trip to WDW, I'll go! I have been known to help her out by knitting a sweater for a bear now and then when the buyer wants something specific. I've made bear hats and bear socks, too!

That sounds like fun.. Maybe I will have to go down and check out the festivities :thumbsup2 I love Teddy Bears, always have, always will I'm sure.. I don't know why I've never been to the Teddy Bear Convention before :confused3

Ok, two things:

First, my most recent cruise nightmare, inspired I suspect partly by all of our discussions about not posting room numbers for security reasons and partly by the fact that my cold has returned full-force and I ended up taking Nyquil last night!:confused3

I dreamed that, for security reasons, DCL took all the floor numbers off of the elevators and stair landings and all the room doors. When you checked in, they gave you a beeper and you just had to walk around until your beeper beeped. That would be your room. Then you had to put a part of the beeper into the keyslot to open the door.:dance3:

Now, the other thing--

I have a question regarding something that was in my docs. There's a phone number to call DCL transportation so that they can tell me what to do with my luggage and what time the buses will load. Do I wait until I check in at AKL to call them? I've never actually done this before--I usually stay at Pop Century and then take the bus from the Beach Club, so I have to drag all of my luggage with me before the last truck departs for the port!

I'll send you more information when I have it! If you're interested in the kinds of bears that will be showing, go here and click on "Gallery". Some of the bears sold for upwards of $3,000!

Beth

I like to cook and so do both my BIL's. Last year my DW's Sister's hubby and I did the cooking for our annual Jimmy Buffet concert. We grilled kabobs' and I grilled some plantains and wonton wrappers basted in butter and coconut. We had more fun than ever just setting up two grills and going to town. We're already planning for next year. Talking about Banana's Foster and Deep Fried Ice Cream :)

Jason that's great. Dh is our "real" cook in this house, though I have learned of necessity. (We have long mat leaves in Canada, and it seemed reasonable I be able to feed myself while he was at work :rolleyes1 ...the baby was easy! ) We both want to do the galley tour on the ship, to see how 'the pros' do it.

I
Anyone know if there is a good "what to pack" list out there. I think I will make a master list and check off as I pack.

I am so scared I am going to forget one of the kids/pets.:lmao:

You're making my head spin too. :upsidedow I'm using the list in the Passporter, merged with my own from WDW...but I need the Passporter to remind me of the cruise-specific stuff.

I gave the list to my sis and mom. My mom has gotten EVERYTHING on the list. Two or three of some things! :scared1: :headache: I had to call her over the weekend and explain that there really is no need for THREE over the door shoe hangers! Did I mention that she is 82, not very experienced with travel and very, very cute? :cutie:

Aww. Does she need any extra grandkids at sea? My mom would be 81, and I really miss their time with her! MIL is also in her 80's but we don't see her that often, and she's not that cute. ;)

I got my skirt cut out and one seam sewn over the weekend. Then I had a bobbin issue. :rolleyes1 [snip] That will give me time to still go shopping for something else in case it turns out horribly. :lmao:

Anyone else making up lists with last minute "to dos?" :dance3:

:lmao: I'm looking forward to seeing this!

And what do you mean by "last minute"?? Sorry, it's not last minute yet. I have 8 whole days before the family has to be in the van...:rolleyes1

Oh, you're cracking me up, Beth. You must be the person who inspired those commercials with Abraham Lincoln and the beaver... :rotfl:

Is this too, um, sexist? It doesn't really show anyone in a bad light, just that we women are...clever. :p It really made me :lmao:

> One day, when a seamstress was sewing while sitting close to a river, her
> thimble fell into the river. When she cried out, the Lord appeared and
> asked, "My dear child, why are you crying?"
> The seamstress replied that her thimble had fallen into the water and that
> she needed it to help her husband in making a living for their family .
>
> The Lord dipped His hand into the water and pulled up a golden thimble set
> with pearls.
>
> "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked
>
> The seamstress replied, "No."
> The Lord again dipped into the river. He held out a silver thimble ringed
> with sapphires.
>
> "Is this your thimble?" the Lord asked.
>
> Again, the seamstress replied, "No."
>
> The Lord reached down again and came up with a leather thimble. "Is this
> your thimble?" the Lord asked.
>
> The seamstress replied, "Yes."
>
> The Lord was pleased with the woman's honesty and gave her all three
> thimbles to keep, and the seamstress went home happy.
>
> Some years later, the seamstress was walking with her husband along the
> riverbank, and her husband fell into the river and disappeared under the
> water.
>
> When she cried out, the Lord again appeared and asked her, "Why are you
> crying?"
>
> "Oh Lord, my husband has fallen into the river!"
>
> The Lord went down into the water and came up with George Clooney.
>
> "Is this your husband?" the Lord asked.
>
> "Yes," cried the seamstress.
>
> The Lord was furious. "You lied! That is an untruth!"
>
> The seamstress replied, "Oh, forgive me, my Lord It is a misunderstanding.
> You see, if I had said 'no' to George Clooney, you would have come up with
> Brad Pitt. Then if I said 'no' to him, you would have come up with my
> husband. Had I then said 'yes,' you would have given me all three. Lord,
> I'm
> not in the best of health and would not be able to take care of all three
> husbands, so THAT'S why I said 'yes' to George Clooney.
>
> And so the Lord let her keep him.
>
> The moral of this story is: Whenever a woman lies, it's for a good and
> honorable reason, and in the best interest of others.
>
> That's our story, and we're sticking to it.
>
> Signed,
> All of Us Women

Oh, you're cracking me up, Beth. You must be the person who inspired those commercials with Abraham Lincoln and the beaver... :rotfl:
Jim actually asked me if Abe Lincoln was on the ship!:lmao:

I usually have normal dreams. I do some of my best thinking and problem-solving while sleeping--at least that's what I tell my boss when I tell him I need a nap! Many of my art projects work themselves out in my sleep, and I keep my Palm Pilot ready by the bed just in case I wake up with an idea. It's only vacations that do this to me! I'm really a very sensible, normal, mature woman, right?:dance3:
