That's what my son and I have.. We are very close and I have always spoken openly with him about everything.. The only way he will learn is to be taught.. I never wanted to "hush hush" when he is around.. As he gets older.. it is the more important issues that I Need him to know about and that he can Trust me and that no matter what stupid mistake he does.. I will Always be here for him and I will always love him.. I explain to him, don't judge people, because you never know what they are going through on the inside that you can't see..
Yes, I think it's important to start talking about adult choices when they are young. When we're watching TV, we talk about the folks that make bad decisions, and why it's important to learn self control, etc when you're young.

I'm thinking next weekend since I'll have so much time with the Thanksgiving break. Things were just too crazy this past week to even think of doing more than catching up this weekend on laundry, trash, and getting the kitchen cleaned up.
