Hey are you doing the early or late seating for dinner? Stephanie thought of sitting together with the late seating and you also have kiddos about the same age.

Jennifer and I have discussed this a few times as our kids can be quite a handful at times. We actually felt bad for the 2 people they had seated at our table on the last cruise as our kids were relentless. So given that, we like everyone on here too much to do that to them and actually look forward to something rare these days...dinner as a family.

We appreciate the thought though.

What's NORO?

Really fun stuff. We got sick the last night of our seven day cruise last year. I don't think I have ever thrown up so much in my life. My daughter was sick two days later and ended up in the hospital. It took her weeks to really get over the stuff. Why are we cruising again? Optimistic

I have heard we should sanitize the cabin when we get on board. Has anyone else heard this? If so, how should it be done?

Just a head up, during a NORO outbreak I believe the CMs do not participate in pin trading.

Correct. They also do not let you serve yourself at the buffets or the drink station on Deck 9. Makes for a bit longer lines but way better than getting sick and spending your cruise confined to your room! USE THE HAND WIPES THEY PROVIDE

Disney is very, very good about sanitizing everything. I am sure they do a better job than I could ever do with my handiwipes. Last year when they would not let us self serve buffet because someone on the cruise before us had been sick I knew they took this seriously. About day 5 they decided the danger had passed since no one was getting sick and opened the stuff back up to self serve. Handwipes handed out at the door to everyone of course.

I plan on taking some Clorox wipes and swabbing down the worst offenders... the tv remote, the door handles, the faucets, the light switches, etc. I've also found a small disenfectant spray that's basically alcohol that can be sprayed on the shower floor, etc. Lysol now makes a 1oz travel size disenfectant, but I haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere yet. It's relatively new. I'm not so much a "clean freak" as a "germ freak." I live in happy clutter. But it's germ-free happy clutter.

That being said... I was thinking the other day... I know the cabin stewards come in and clean up each night, wipe down the sinks, etc. But do you think they use a clean rag for each cabin? Cause the thought of them using the same rag they wiped someone else's cabin down with...

I bring a small pack of Lysol wipes with me and wipe down things like the remote, the toilet handle, the phone, the safe. I know my germs and bathing/washing habits, but I do not know that of the passengers before us.

Not paranoid as I believe in good bacteria, but just pro-active instead of reactive.

At home we do NOT use antibacterial soap as we believe that has helped with the spread of resistant strains of critters.

I have three ideas of where we picked it up. First guess, the first day on board a little girl whose family had just been down the buffet line before us threw up in the dining room. Idea two, one of our servers looked really ill at dinner and was not around the next day. Three, the toillet backed up in our cabin while the kids were in the bath. Not from something we did, it just started pouring out .Not sure if it was any of these situations, just a guess. Why am I doing this again?

DrHug's pride and joy is his Club 33 pin and we have a bunch from Disney Hong Kong that our nephew picked up for us. He got us 2 sets, one to keep and one to trade.

Umm... is this currently going on? Cause in September, we did dish our own food, traded pins and served ourselves at the drink station

DH is on the waiting list for Club 33

Do the food and service help one forget about the costs? It is quite a chunk of change but it has to have something super appealing for there to be such a demand.

It is a several year long list. Actually they don't know how long since there are only 500 members and no more can join until one of those does not rejoin. It has been many years since anyone has not paid the yearly dues, so the only new memberships are when someone dies. The membership is not transferable to a family member upon death, so they do become available. We have a DIS friend (met on the 2004 10 day) that took us for the 39th anniversary of the day we met at Disneyland. That was pretty special! His uncle is the member and they too are on the waitlist. They put their daughter's name on the waitlist though with the thought that she would live the longest. That is a serious Disney family!
