Am I the only one in a slight panic mode?

As of now I have two 6 foot tables end to end and some suitcases are on them labeled "girls", "boys", and "Mom/dad". There is a new rack hanging in the laundry room for "cruise clothes". I picked up the Disney medical form from the doctor today and am ready to fax it to the cruise line to authinticate we do need a wheelchair accessable room. 6 of the 7 of us now have some really nice dress clothes due to some great consignment shops and some super sales. 5 passports are in (yes I know we don't HAVE to have them), and I'll send the #'s to Disney later tonight. Pick up the dry cleaning tomorrow, started making the room lists (toiletries, etc) times 3 rooms, started packing the "medical" suitcase, last night got the hotel reservations in Kissimmee for the 7th, MVMCP tickets came yesterday, tomorrow is my last day off until Tuesday, did I mention I am a part time cake decorator at a VERY busy store and was told that instead of my 20 hours a week I should expect to put in 50 hours between now and Thanksgiving?, squeeze in a Hannah Montana concert (Monday) which is 2 hours away, picked up two mickey mouse ties at JC Penny's today, and then the thought accured to me... if we all get to bring 2 suitcases, how would I ever fit 7 people and 14 suitcases in my van?????

Is it time to panic yet????
If you are not flying you can bring as many suitcases as you want. They will hand out extra luggage tags at the curb where you unload. Porter can help you tote it all back to the car after the cruise (for a tip of course). All us folks that have to fly have problems fitting it in and not going over weight though.

Nope, don't need a porter, thats what all the kids are for. In fact, when I first read your post I decided to bring 3 extra suitcases and 2 less kids, but I have since changed my mind. I think I will need all 5 kids just to tote all this stuff.....

Yes, health insurance today is a joke. For a few years DH was self employed, and we did COBRA to the tune of about 1k a month. Man, what I could have done/do with that money!

Working for the Federal Government I am blessed with good health insurance at a reasonable price that I can carry into retirement. That is one of the many blessings that I give thanks for daily!

I'd be happy to :goodvibes

Disney started the whole pin trading/collecting thing in 2000 (i think). Basically, the cast members where lanyards with pins on them. If you have a Disney pin, then you can trade the CM. There are even special "hidden mickey" pins that you can ONLY get by trading a CM. So, you might pic up a box 8 of pins at WDW for $30 or so, then trade for ones you like. Some of the pins you trade for might be selling in their stores for $8 - $15.

Disney must make a killing on pins! They release them for everything and people buy them up. There are limited edition pins released all the time. There are even special pins you can only get on the cruise ships (different pins depending if you're on the Magic or the Wonder). They even have big pin trading events each year, where hundreds of traders come. They have an auction selling pre-production and other one-of-a-kind pins/sets. People at the auction pay THOUSANDS of dollars for just a few of these pins!

It is fun, but there are always those who will spoil things. There are some pin traders at DTD who can be very "eager" to trade with other pin collectors and tourists. You definitely have to beware of these "sharks" :sad2:

It does get crazy! On the first cruise thru the canal there was a whole line of people with blankets and pillows in the lobby overnight to stay in line for some special edition pins. :sad2: I would not go that far!

That was hilarious. Thanks.

Mary and Emi and others--nice to have company on the "healthy living" thing. (It's not a diet! That's what Weight Watchers keeps trying to tell me! :sad2: ) Mary, your little one is still really little--I was coasting on "I just had a baby" for muuuuch longer. :rolleyes1

Now I am really caught up?? Dh went to bed an hour and a half ago. Sigh. So, GO TO BED, the rest of you! I don't wanna miss anything!!

Yea I would love to say that but I've had the extra weight on since getting pg with DD6. Now that we are finished I really need to stop with an excuse. I did WW after first DD and it was fine but DH is so not a dieter so even if I try he always hinders things. So I'm just trying to get healthy since I bauk diets.

So let me get this straight. You're in Disney and see a CM wearing some pins. You can just go up and ask for a trade? What if they don't want to trade?? Then what, do you beat them up?

They will trade! Sometimes they have some special pins in their pockets! :cool1: We spent some time talking with a couple of CMs at DL during the weekend of the Pirates opening last May and after a while they (2 different ones) pulled some Pirates pins out of the pocket and asked if we wanted to trade for those. :woohoo: pirate: You bet we did!! Dennis is quite the friendly chatter and makes friends everywhere he goes! Reminds me of a story...(surprised??) The first time we were at WDW I was at a conference and he tagged along. His days were free to roam the parks while I was in meetings. :sad2: He chatted all day with CMs and then took me back after "work" to meet them and see the sights he had found. Over a year later we went back for a vacation and 2 of the CMS at Epcot not only recognized him, but remembered his name! We were so surprised when we walked by and heard "Hi, Dennis!" :flower3: Geez, they must talk with millions of people in a year! One lady was there the following year also and was happy to chat Disney Art with him again! :)

Ok...Most of mine are on cork boards, but we do have pins littering the kitchen table, counters, bookshelves, coffee tables, little boxes on the bookshelves, in the bedroom, They are EVERYWHERE!

I think they breed if left unattended on the table, bookshelf, coffee table over night! :lmao:

DH has.. HM, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tower of terror

He buys a Ton of cruise pins each time we go, to trade them for stuff he wants for his collection.. DCL Pins are always in demand..

I have a Big collection of Pooh Bear & Tinkerbell..

DS has Pluto.. but he doesn't trade or collect anymore..

We also collect Halloween ones

DrHug's pride and joy is his Club 33 pin and we have a bunch from Disney Hong Kong that our nephew picked up for us. He got us 2 sets, one to keep and one to trade. :thumbsup2

Hi, all!

Just checking in. There's no way that I can catch up on all the posts right now (when I left home we were on page 812) because I'm on dial-up. For some reason, the wireless won't work in this hotel room. They've offered to let me use the wireless in their office, but that would mean actually getting dressed again and going out of my room. I am SO tired that all I want to do is put my feet up!

So, just in case you saw it on the news last night, I am not at the Showboat where they had a major hostage situation last night and evacuated the hotel. I am safely at the Tropicana in a very nice oceanfront room until tomorrow morning. I'll catch up on everything once I get home. I've been trying for two days to log onto the board, but just couldn't manage to get in.

Please try to slow down so I have some hope of catching up!

I'll be home tomorrow night, and may have to stay up all night reading posts!

Beth

Although it was all very, very important stuff,:lmao: you could just jump back in here and continue on with us!

So... I have been/gonna be super busy this week and it's severely hampering my dis time :sad2: It's all I can do to keep up, much less post.

Where are you?

Beth is in Atlantic City for a conference. I thought I'd answer since she's gone to bed. :)

Working for the Federal Government I am blessed with good health insurance at a reasonable price that I can carry into retirement. That is one of the many blessings that I give thanks for daily!

We're very, very lucky with DH's employer health coverage. We have great coverage, low copays, and it only cost $24 per year to add me. And that's including complete maternity coverage. We had our own business for 3 years, so I know how much it costs to self-insure. The added benefit of me being covered under his plan at work is that it has given us a lot of freedom in regards to my working situation.

Ok, feeling a little guilty about that :pirate: , but it was a "real" post and I did announce myself a few minutes ago. Nice to be here with so many, though! Now I'm still really only at pg 867...

A true pirate never apologizes for stealing the booty! TAKE WHAT YOU CAN!!pirate: pirate:
