I've been lurking here for about 6 weeks or longer. I wanted to post earlier, but it took me a while to read all about my new friends that I was about to meet.

So forgive me for not chimming in sooner. You are a chatty group. That's meant to be a good compliment.

Sorry for the double post. What happen to all those in the beginning of this thread? Alot of them are missing here at the last few days before the cruise. Come back if you are just lurking. It's to post so we can really get this started.

I've never got an upgrade but I've never booked a gty either. We usually travel with my family, three rooms, and some of them book gty. My daughter who booked a cat 12 gty, got upgraded to a cat. 4. The reason for that fantastic upgrade was the room they gave them was in bad need of repair. They should have never put them in that cabin to start with. Most of the cabins were full, so that's why they got that good of an upgrade.

I never bothered going to the beginning of the thread...too many posts. I just jumped in when we booked! I think everyone is really working today!

So what did your spouse say about the idea of an inflatable menorah? We had this neighbor in AZ that had an inflatable for literally every season.

I've actually read all the posts on this thread, but it was pretty easy--I started at about page 50, way back in mid-June when we decided to book. I read through the thread because we weren't sure if we wanted the Eastern or Western. After reading this thread, I couldn't pass it up. They seemed like such fun people, plus we wanted the extra day at sea.

It's hard to believe that we'll actually all be meeting so soon! It seemed like the time would never come when I booked, since we usually book much closer to the date of sailing.

And yes, I'm actually working today. However, I'm printing an endless report, and I have to sit here until it's done and keep an eye on the printer because it gets a little strange sometimes with huge documents. Since I won't be in the office all of next week, I have to get this thing done today.

There were a few that we know (cruised with them last Dec) who were booked on this trip but canceled to do the Canal cruises when they were announced.

Hmmm...that might mean there is still hope to get something. Please be sure and post when you get the word on your private room experience. I am thinking positively now after a hot bath in the Jacuzzi and some Ambien and Crown and diet to wash it down with.

FYI- Don't mix Ambien w/alcohol. Unless you were just joking. I have an Ambien prescription. As I think everyone on here knows by now. I know we didn't get along in the past. But, I'd hate for something to happen to you physically.

Yes, I guess my post sounded funny.

The reason I sounded with such disbelief is that someone was joking on another thread about the Disney characters tucking people into bed at the resorts. Of course they were joking. So, I honestly thought you were joking too. I am glad your son had that experience.

Ok, so I have to tell you about mine. My manager in my office is one of these types that has more money than he really should. He's ALWAYS buying new toys on-line and having them shipped to our office. One day while he's out, I decide to pull one over on him. Now mind you, I've only been here around a year, or a year and a half at this time. I decided to take a LARGE cardboard box, slice off the bottom, and fill it with packing peanuts. I simply place the box in front of his door to his office because he always keeps his door closed and locked when he's not there. (Wonder why?? ) Anyway, so he comes into the office and sees something at his door and wonders "what did I order now??" Picks it up and peanuts go EVERYWHERE. I couldn't quit crying because I was laughing too hard!!! He never even suspected it was me.

You and Bill are going to get along so well it is not funny. Do we all need to keep an eye on y'all. Where's Tina when I need her.

When I told my husband about all this fun, he rolled his eyes and walked off. Wouldn't it be funny if our husband's ended up at the bar together? They could start their own club.

Just told DH last night that we would be joining a bunch of DISer's for dinner. He doesn't mind at all. Funny thing is, I am usually the shy one but there is just something about DISer's that makes me want to be a part of the group!

It happened after they got on board. There was a leak comming from the air conditioner, but it was not the usual drip, it was a stream of water. Carpet wet. The crew were the ones who insisted they move. They were so nice to them, helped them pack and took up the luggage to deck 8. for them.

Just told DH last night that we would be joining a bunch of DISer's for dinner. He doesn't mind at all. Funny thing is, I am usually the shy one but there is just something about DISer's that makes me want to be a part of the group!

There is something comforting about this group that does just make you want to join in the chats and have fun! I have felt that way since first posting on this thread many moons ago. They are a very welcoming group.

Sure I and my DH would love to come to the meet & greet if it is not too cold. It is on deck 10, right? I am Martha and my DH is Harvey. I am the Disney obsessed one in the family.
