I got some great news tonight about a super cool opportunity at work that I really wanted. Well I went through 2 interviews last week and I got the call tonight that I got it!!! :cool1: I am so pumped as this new role is something I have a ton of passion around and I already feel re-energized. Funny thing though that you will all appreciate in terms of Disney pourng over into work. I let them know in the interview that I had the WDW and DCL trip coming up in December in case that was an issue. If so, I was going to have to pass on the opportunity as I need my Disney fix. :goodvibes

:cheer2: Congrats!!!! :cheer2:

I started shooting RAW plus JPEG but stopped because I don't need every photo in RAW. So now I only shot RAW when I want to be able to Photoshop the image more. Usually when I shoot flowers and scenes.

Now having said that I might shoot more RAW images on the cruise and will need a laptop. :surfweb:

I hear ya. I do it in both so I can just upload the jpegs to the server I have in our house, and my wife can browse through them on her computer. She can then list out the ones she wants us to process further, and I'll load those up in Photoshop (Or Lightroom now). For a while I was shooting just Raw, and was using a modified version of dcraw to make a generic JPG from each one for her to look at, but this is a little faster.

Eventually, I'll finish my album software that I'm working on, that will have a web service that I can call from client software on my PC that will allow me to upload a bunch of files, and have a wrapper to dcraw that I can invoke, and I'll go back to shooting just RAW. My wife can then browse the jpegs and flag the ones she wants me to process, and I'll go from there.

It never goes on sale here. I just bucked up and bought another can of the spray sunblock. We have on my sister left here 2 months ago and I know they only used it a time or two, but I just really can't tell how much is left in it. :confused3 Something about the way the spray ones work, the cans all feel the same. :rotfl: But we both burn too easily to risk taking it and not having enough, so I'm taking it and a new one.

We ran out last year. I didn't plan on having to coat all members of our group. I paid double on the boat for a new can. But spray is the way.
I am bringing four cans this year.

Thanks!! I know that, but I appreciate the input! If my kids were coming I would probably do it, but DH and I, it isn't our thing, if you know what I mean. I had a hard enough time convincing DH to sit at a table with 13 dis crazed strangers :rotfl: . I will be at the meet, I am not sure if he is gonna be with me or be at the bar :woohoo: .

When I told my husband about all this fun, he rolled his eyes and walked off. Wouldn't it be funny if our husband's ended up at the bar together? They could start their own club.:rotfl:

Does this qualify as an Angie if I am quoting myself but actually quoting Jennifer? ;) I am signing for now as well as CSI draws closer. We are all caught up on Heroes but do I have a ton of questions. Any helpers? :) Anyway, have a great evening everyone! :goodvibes

- Bill

I will help where I can for Hero's, but I still have 2 episodes to watch this weekend with DH.

No word from Dining on our group request yet. :confused3 Which I submitted in February!! :sad2: Guess they do not do first request, first booked. Oh well, we have brunch for all but 2 of our group and I will get those when we board.

Hmmm...that might mean there is still hope to get something. Please be sure and post when you get the word on your private room experience. I am thinking positively now after a hot bath in the Jacuzzi and some Ambien and Crown and diet to wash it down with.

Oh, congrats to those of you who got brunch! Hope springs eternal, and I found in the FAQ directions to the booking spot onboard. Dh has taken up the challenge now; he's got incredible luck. I almost killed him when he "took over" trying to get a ressie for dd and me at CRT inside the 90 days...I had called 20 times (I kept a tally) hoping for a cancellation. He got it on his first attempt! But even if his luck doesn't hold, as others have said, we won't be hungry!

Congrats, Bill! That sounds really great, to be given, trusted with, an opportunity that feels so good. WTG, guy. And, um, as for the trip, well, you know, without balance, IMO, we become less valuable employees.

These are one of our favorites too. DH could probably get by just on the chicken tenders for the whole cruise.
.

I saw a pic on one of the other threads, and yeah, I'm thinking "that's not mere kid food..." mmm.

:teacher: (Rapping my pointer.) I wonder who's sitting in the back of the class... :scratchin: I once introduced myself at a meeting "hello, my name is JoAnne and I'm a recovering English teacher". :goodvibes

LOL, well the funny thing is, it isn't the online aspect of it. I mean heck, we ummm...met online :rolleyes1 . He doesn't like large groups of people, especially ones he doesn't know. But I felt better those that I kinda know, then ones we don't know at all. He will have fun, and find someone he can talk to.
Jim says he doesn't like large groups of people, either. But he's fine once he's there. He used to be a DJ for parties and things, and once he gets started you just can't turn him off again. Be warned!!!!

Nachos too :goodvibes

Jim generally doesn't go to bars without me. He gets into too much trouble too easily. He needs a babysitter!

Bill: Congrats on the job! That's awesome--we'll help you celebrate on the cruise!

OK, it's Thursday night, which means ER, and I have a few things to do around the house, so I'm calling it a night.

My little light may be on, but nobody will be home:laughing:!

Good night, all!

Beth

LOL, I am sure my DH will get along with at least some of the our group! I can see the bar scene. Hey, where's your wife, with this weird online cult..where's yours!! :rotfl2:

Well DH DJ'd for awhile way before I met him, so they will have stuff in common. Dis addicted wives...Joisey...and crowds!!

I've given up on High Tea... :sad2:

Looks like I will have to book another cruise in order to get High Tea and Brunch at Palo :guilty:

Not to my knowledge... However.. Not too sure what the Bars serve at Happy Hours cause we don't go to any of the Bars or Clubs..

:confused3

REally?? What adult stuff do you guys do at nite?

Oh, you didnt get brunch :sad1: . I am sorry, I thought you had it booked already. I got lucky this afternoon. Can we do the private room for high tea?? I am sure we can get 12 of us for that easy!! I wanted to try that too...but now I am aiming for dinner. That I think I can get at the ship (I hope).

Not much.. :sad2: DH is a party pooper..

We go to dinner at 8:30pm, walk up on deck for a bit, go back to the room and get changed.. DH falls asleep and I watch TV or Read..

Sometimes we get coffee and sit on the Balcony or up on deck..

Once we saw Pirates of the Caribbean at like 11pm or something..

I'm the night owl.. :surfweb:

Nope, we got Dinner but never got Tea or Brunch.. When Wendy & Angie made their Brunch ressies.. They were already too full so I couldn't join..
