Bill is like a little kid in his meetings and training sometimes. Instead of passing notes they send IMs to each other. There is one of his coworkers that never turns off his cell phone during meetings. So as a joke, Bill called the man during one of their "big wig" meetings. Bill said it was located in a large room full of people and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. He said that man was so red in the face. :rolleyes1 You'd think he learned his lesson. :sad2: Nope. During their next "big wig" meeting, Bill called him again and sure enough the man's phone rang again. :lmao:

I love my little joker.:jester: As long as I am on his "good side". :lmao:

I like you Bill :thumbsup2

When we have our Officer staff meetings one of the guys always has his phone on. I always think that I ought to get one of my staff to call him every five minutes on the lobby phone. :lmao:

Yeah that came out a lot uglier than I meant it to. Let me explain.

Next year, we are flying to Denver, renting an RV and driving up to see Mt. Rushmore and Devil's Tower the week before Memorial Day. Then we have a cruise planned for 14 days through the PC in October of that same year.

For 2009, we are flying to New Zealand and Australia for a three week summer vacation where we are meeting friends on our first cruise who live in the literal outback.

In 2010 for Thanksgiving, we have a Mediterranean cruise planned as well as spending time in Greece with a friend we know whose husband was a captain for Celebrity.

By that time the new ships will be out, but unless there is something new offered besides the Caribbean, we won't be back. We might consider the southern, but otherwise we have been to St. Maarten and Cozumel before.

I hope that makes sense. We are trying to see the world before it gets much harder than it is in the primary grades to miss some school. We want her to have seen the places she will one day be studying.

Ok, that makes sense. We tend to go and do what my kids love, and that has been WDW. My mil is the world traveler, and knowing her, once DD is old enough, she will take her and then DS with her on adventures.

A HUGE.. Tweetybird came to our room and tucked in DS, signed his shirt and gave him a Tweeybird Stuffed toy.. DS was in Heaven :cloud9: He was sooo excited.. Tweety just fit into the room he was so big..

For real? Was it someone dressed in one of those big costumes? Was it his birthday or a special ocassion? I wish DCL would offer something like that. However, those hallways and stateroom doorways are so narrow. I don't think a character could fit through one. They hardly fit into the elevators. :lmao:

I know its not gourmet food, but I really liked the chicken tenders out by the pool at Pluto's Dog House. :thumbsup2 They were so yummy. I felt like a kid eating them. Everything just tasted so much better eating it outside and I DIDN'T HAVE TO COOK IT! :rotfl:

I never got a chance to try them. I am a rather non adventuours (OK, BORING) eater. So on the cruise I think I shocked DH by not ordering any of the plain grilled food. I didn't ask for any changes to what I ordered, I don't tend to eat sauces. I figured, I will eat what they have, and if I don't like it, I will order soemthing else. It worked out great!! I loved everythign, well almost. Up by the pool area I tried the Panni's, it was bye the ice cream. Those were yummy!! But yes, I had them remove the tomatoes!! :rotfl: ;)

I got some great news tonight about a super cool opportunity at work that I really wanted. Well I went through 2 interviews last week and I got the call tonight that I got it!!! :cool1: I am so pumped as this new role is something I have a ton of passion around and I already feel re-energized. Funny thing though that you will all appreciate in terms of Disney pourng over into work. I let them know in the interview that I had the WDW and DCL trip coming up in December in case that was an issue. If so, I was going to have to pass on the opportunity as I need my Disney fix. :goodvibes

OK well we were able to get back in and there were no brunch reservations available. It was so frustrating have it pop up and I had to vent. I am signing off now. CSI/WaT night for DH and GA and ER for me.

I know what you mean!!!! I was looking on the DCL Photos of Food thread last night and there was a sandwich that looked like it came from Topsiders or SOMEWHERE from outside the restaurants and it looked like a grilled chicken sandwich on an over-sized hot dog bun where the chicken was cut up into pieces. Actually..... I went and found it. Even the hot dog looks good!!!

First trip: We really liked Key West, believe it or not. We had the best time ever on the trolley. We purchased our tickets when we got there. The driver was what made the excursion. It was in October and the temperature was hot. "Welcome to paradise," said the guide.

In Grand Caymen we went on the island tour and went to the turtle farm. It has been completely been rebuilt and more is being added. It is now called Boatswains Beach. Do a search if it's working. Also we went to a place called Hell, didn't really care for it. It's like one of those been there done that. Man it was hot at Grand Caymen.

Cozumel, hot, hot, hot. Did I say hot!!!!! It was miserably hot. And when you sweat, the bugs attack. We walked to the shops and that was all we wanted to do. One thing about Coz, most people complain about the in your face trying to get you into their stores. It's a turn off to many. The people in Coz from what I've read are very friendly. You need to plan excursions that have to do with getting wet when it's that hot.

Trip two. We did not plan on doing any excursions. We got to Key West and it was raining. We get our umbrella out and just walked around the town. It was great for us. It was cool, what a relief. We were expecting heat.

Grand Caymen: It was not as hot as the previous year. Thank goodness. We mostly shopped and tooked pictures.

Cozumel: We came into Coz on the end of a tropical depression. So you got it. It was raining off and on. At least it was good for shopping.

Didn't mean to give a trip report. Sorry.

Yes you are right, as DH just walked in and asked why I was in such a funk, 'well at least we have dinner'. We know this will be our one and only DCL cruise so we are trying to do it all.
You can't possibly do it all in one cruise! You'll have to sneak another one in there somehow! Palo is good (in fact, it's wonderful) but the regular restaurants are also wonderful. Relax and enjoy yourself!

I had a hard enough time convincing DH to sit at a table with 13 dis crazed strangers :rotfl: . I will be at the meet, I am not sure if he is gonna be with me or be at the bar :woohoo: .
I broke the linked dining and the group brunch to Jim very gently. It was only on our last cruises (back-to-back) that he actually got into meeting and chatting with DIS'ers. We met at least one on each of our cruises, but up until that Thanksgiving cruise, we never went to meets. Of course, I organized the one for the Thanksgiving cruise, so I had to go! He's ok with it now. He's pretty sure that most of you aren't axe murderers or clock tower snipers.

Wahoo! Come on AC, don't fail us now! :goodvibes (Just Kidding!) - Jennifer
This convention is an annual event. I almost always get at least part of my holiday shopping money out of the casino. I'm good--I put my winnings away and never put anything more than my original amount into the casino, so I never lose my winnings. It's a few days of hard work (the convention, not the casino;)) because I'm not used to standing all day and being nice to people, but it's a lot of fun. In case you haven't quite figured it out yet, I'm very people-oriented!

I saw the area where they had the fruit and paninis. There was always a line there. So, I assume it was yummy stuff. Speaking of ice cream . . .one problem we had with the ice cream was that it melted so fast! I guess we just needed to eat it faster!

I normally don't like tomatoes. But, I love them in grilled cheese sandwiches. It is so yummy! :goodvibes

I have 3 4Gig cards and 1 1gig card, and I am worried about space. Of course, I shoot in Raw and large JPEG mode, so I end up with about 12MB used per picture. I've had my camera for a little over a year, and have taken over 5000 pictures so far :)

I started shooting RAW plus JPEG but stopped because I don't need every photo in RAW. So now I only shot RAW when I want to be able to Photoshop the image more. Usually when I shoot flowers and scenes.

Now having said that I might shoot more RAW images on the cruise and will need a laptop. :surfweb:

When we have our Officer staff meetings one of the guys always has his phone on. I always think that I ought to get one of my staff to call him every five minutes on the lobby phone. :lmao:

To make that story even funnier, that guy had just bragged because he had recorded himself in a funny voice saying "ring...ring...ring...ring" and that was his ringer. Also, he was charging phone where the outlets were in this room of 200 people and it happened to be in the opposite corner from where he was sitting. So the facilitator is doing the introductory PowerPoint slides and when he gets to the one to make sure to turn off your cell phone, the crowd hears "ring...ring...ring...ring" over and over as he has to make the walk of shame :tiptoe: across the room to go shut it off. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I have never before seen that shade of red that he turned. :headache: Later in the week, he had overslept and had to rush to the meeting and we KNEW he didn't have time to shut off his ringer and, what do you know, the ringer demons got him again. :) Man, either I am immature for getting a chuckle out of that or just an eternal kid at heart. A fine line at times. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Thank you for the trip report. I enjoyed it and appreciate the honesty. I had always wanted to go to Key West for that family photo in front of the buoy that says "southern most point". So, maybe some time in the future we will get there. :goodvibes

Amber:

Don't panic, there will be opportunities for reservations once you board--especially since you'll be there early! Don't let it ruin your cruise. We never even tried Palo until our fifth cruise. We were too busy enjoying the regular rotation restaurants, along with all the other eating opportunities:rolleyes1.

Beth

We've only done it once in 6 cruises and probably would not be doing so this time if it wasn't for being able to spend quality time with our friends.

One things for sure ..... I have never left a DCL cruise hungry.

LOL, well the funny thing is, it isn't the online aspect of it. I mean heck, we ummm...met online :rolleyes1 . He doesn't like large groups of people, especially ones he doesn't know. But I felt better those that I kinda know, then ones we don't know at all. He will have fun, and find someone he can talk to.

 How did you like the Western cruises? We would like to try it sometime. :cloud9:

- Jennifer

In the 6 DCL cruises so far (this one being 7) only one was a western when we did a back to back. We prefer the eastern cruises.
