I noticed the post about not giving out the names of our kids and room numbers. I really like to think Disney is safe.

I am just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen? On our cruise last year, there was a man who I always saw by himself. He was always in the areas crowded with children. Like the pool. He really bothered me so I kept my eye on him the entire week. I never saw him with another adult or children of his own. Maybe I am making too much of this, but something about him really bothered me. When he was around I made my kids leave.

I probably should have said something to the staff. I just didn't think.

I'm not sure any where is totally safe and you are wise to keep an eye on your children. I have not heard of any incidents on Disney ships. When they are in the club they are well supervised and if you are with them outside the club all will be well.
The concern here was that there were a couple of people on the thread earlier that seemed H**L bent on causing disruption. We ignored for the most part and it stopped, but we all just agreed that our names, rooms etc should just be shared a bit more privately. My feeling was more to prevent more disruptions than out of fear for safety of any of us.

Speaking of remembering.....we forgot our youngest grandchild's birthday! Luckily our sweet DS called us late in the afternoon and said Um, maybe you two should call Aaron today. Why?? It's his birthday!! That was on 11/3. We called, whew! Saved! We are pleading old age, too much going on with the house and stuff. :sad2: I finally got a card sent to him today. Bad, bad grandparents! He will enjoy shopping with the $$ in the card.

Well there is a Dis Stalker, that is fond of one of our Cruisers here.. So she asked for us to take her child(rens) name(s) & Cabin number off so I did.. Then we all got into a discussion and took the rest off.. For secuirty and "Just In Case" :thumbsup2

Due to Recent events and our Cruiser's security for our Children I have taken off our Cabin Numbers and Names... Thank you for understanding..

I don't blame you. Although I am sure you guys are all great people...you have no idea who is "lurking" on these boards. I'm paranoid. I don't have a myspace page or anything like that...

Ok that is odd... I was informed I have 2 New unread Private Message... when I went to look.. It was the same two I read and responded to about an hour ago.. :confused3

I think it does this if you use the "back" button instead of refreshing your own session. I got the same thing. :confused3

OK. I am so excited to think I may get an upgrade. :cheer2: Why do they do this????

They oversell some Categories in an attempt to fill the ship. For example, there are only thirteen Cat 12 cabins on the entire ship. But I think there's more than that of us here that are in a Cat 12 gty cabin. :rotfl: In any case, they also oversell knowing some people will cancel. So between trying to fill up and overbooking, they end up having to "shift" some people around in order to get everyone in a room. Giving someone a Cat 9 for the price of a Cat 12 is better than either room sitting empty and not giving them any $ at all for that cruise.

I agree COMPLETELY on a big congrats to everyone that is still married after the first year and to Emi on the upcoming!!

When I got married, my mother told me the first 5 years were the hardest. It wasn't until later I found out she was lying. It's definitely the first 10 years. ;)

I feel like the luckiest disser ever!
At work today i was bored and stumbled upon the DCL intranet site. Where they list EVERYTHING about the cruises. Its the site that the DCL agents referance when we call to ask questions. I feel like a dis secret agent or something!

I also enjoyed reading everyones stories about their anniversaries/weddings. Randy and I are starting to get really excited. We got our marriage license a few days ago so it feels "official" now.

We are 21 and 24 (both going on 40) so it makes me feel good to hear about so many happy marriages that happened when people were younger like us

It is so nice to know that a bunch of us have actually stayed married! Quite an accomplishment nowadays!:thumbsup2 DH and I were both 19 when we got married and have been married for 36 years.:goodvibes

Hey all!
I am new to the disboards. I just booked our very first Disney Cruise, we are going on December 8th and I was wondering if the ship does anything geared around the holidays? Christmas music, shows, decorations etc....

Thanks in advance for the responses!

Welcome Jill! Everyone else has already answered your questions, but I wanted to be sure and welcome you :) We just joined this "crazy crew" a couple weeks ago - kind of a spur of the moment decision when Disney offered some GREAT Florida resident rates :woohoo:

Christmas at WDW is always magical - I'm sure the ship and CC are no exception:santa:

...not to be a downer, but I was in the wedding of a friend last year who stayed married for 27 days...yup, DAYS. I paid $300 for the bridesmaid dress (which was BEIGE and STRAPLESS and I was NURSING at the time), then on top of that add the shower gift and the CASH wedding gift (which was not refunded NOR was I ever thanked for)...since we moved (from VA to NY) I havne't spoken to her...

...takes all kinds...:rolleyes1

I have already initiated df into the "cult of Disney", so I should be good from here!

Wow... I thought my friend with the 3 month marriage was the winner.

Where in VA were you? I lived in SW VA most of my life till about 4 years ago when we moved out west. Though I was in "upstate" for 3 months too! In Rochester.

She was a TOTAL bridezilla too...screamed at me because I had my eyebrows waxed a week before, not the day before (uh, I'm Irish, my forehead is red for DAYS)...

We lived in Manassas, now we live north of Albany (near where I grew up) the pace of life is soooo much nicer here!

I am being horribly fickle with my excursions and decided to switch back to "Captain Nautica's St. John Snorkeling Expedition" from the "kayak/snorkel/hike" (df has a bad shoulder and hurt pretty bad last time we kayaked)...
Well it was neat to see all the other late diners added to my party!

My DH's Cousin was the same thing... :sad2: They were great as friends and then dating.. Once married.. it was all over.. They went back to being friends til she found a new guy and hasn't spoken to DH's Cousin since..

Oh yeah... I'd never wanna live in NoVA. Ugh. The beltway alone is enough to keep me from going up there.

I'm the complete opposite. Moved from MiddleofNowhere, VA to Los Angeles. :headache:

AAAWWW. See, this is what I'm talking about. Where did we find all these romantic guys!??

I may be wrong but I think that in order for someone to truly "get" Disney and what is all about :wizard:, you have to be a little bit of a romantic.

We went kayaking a couple years back and DH has bad shoulders too...I kept making fun of him "you are supposed to use your ABS, not your ARMS" (I then whined that my arms hurt the ENTIRE next day!)

Snorkeling rocks.

I went back and forth between a couple of the St John snorkeling tours, but I don't remember that one. As far as I could tell, the only difference in the two I was looking at was whether you went by boat the whole way and snorkeled off the back of said boat, or if you went by ferry and bus, then snorkeled from the beach.

But yeah... kayaking would be much too much physical activity for us. :rotfl:

We went kayaking at Fort Desoto park it's just south of St. Pete (My current favorite beach in FL  ) The have mangrove tree islands and DF couldnt get the hang of the paddeling, so he kept rowing oposite and driving us into the trees! I took kayaking classes in H.S. and so i found it a bit funny! (he was acting like all tough of course)
I liket the sound of Captain Nautica's because it sounds like you get the most actual water time plus you get to snorkel with sea turtles!
If you are going to be staying at WDW at all i really recommend the "Living Seas Aquaseas Snorkel adventure" at Epcot. We used a scuba assisted snorkel and got to go inside the aquarium and snokel. I was waving to all the corel reef diners and vacationers!
