Good morning!

Wendy--
Jim was reading over my shoulder just now (the closest he's come yet to DIS'ing), and he thought you meant that Al Gore was on our cruise!

Well, gotta go--I missed the early train this morning because I couldn't get my hair dry enough to leave the house, so I can't miss the second one or I'll have to take a half of a sick day.

Later!

Beth

Good Morning! :goodvibes

It must have been a busy night as we already over 6100 posts! I am going to try and catch even though I see my beautiful wife had been DISing into the wee hours. :cloud9: Only 3 more days until we get to slightly quench our Disney addiction. Woohoo! :cool1:

Congratulations Julie on the pirate:!

OK, time to try and catch up. :surfweb:

Choosing to participate in an internet forum is a personal matter. If you do not feel comfortable doing so that is your choice.

However, no user may deny use of this thread to anyone else. I suggest you contact a moderator or the board sponsor. Or perhaps Al Gore. :confused3

And I have. No user should suggest that it is ok that this board be used to attack another poster. I certainly hope I never run into you or those who joined just to attack on this cruise.

No wonder my DH says not to reveal our real details ever online. Too many freaks.

The whole reason I insisted on our first cruise was because I figured it was the only way that DH could be completely cut off from work and actually relax. Of course since then, they've added the internet service and the cell phone service at sea. He still does less for work when we're on a cruise than when we take other vacations though, so it's the best I can do.

I just asked him about going to DL this weekend and he didn't seem too enthusiastic. It's hard for him to think about fun stuff during the week though when he's consumed by work.

Sorry. :( Try to encourage him that by taking a "break" from chaos, he will actually have more energy and focus when he does go back once he has recharged his batteries. At least that has been my experience. It's worth a shot. ;)

- Bill

Wendy,

It is cut off now because of the new signature sizes. But, I saw SSR in your signature earlier today and wanted to "officially" tell you. . .

:cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR DVC MEMBERSHIP! :cheer2:

- Jennifer

Yes, congratulations Wendy! :yay:

- Bill

We are getting married on board the day before castaway cay on one of the sea days. (day 5?) I didnt want to miss out on any CC time!

How about the 2nd Sea day for a shower?

Wendy, when I try to print the cruise info (DISmeet & Secret Santa/Mickey) on your blog I get 5 blank sheets. How do I get the info to print?

Judy, Did you get this fixed? Copying and pasting into Word as Stefanie suggested is probably the best. The Secret Mickey post is off the blog right now, but you can do a copy and paste from the thread on the DisBoards.

Lets see.... We live in Tampa. Moved there from Chicago last year. I start work for the Disney Reservation Center in Tampa on Saturday

I used to work at Walt Disney Travel Co in CA. We booked the packages to Disneyland and San Diego. What gets booked out of Tampa? The perks for working for Disney are great! :yay:

Heh... I just get this picture in my mind of Wendy running out of a NATO meeting....

"Sorry... can't talk... disco day...." /dash

You ain't lying! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

The only thing that surprises me is that they're so flexible in letting people who have already booked higher staterooms "downgrade" to get the good deal. But, again, that's Disney customer service! I'm sure there are some bean counters somewhere who worked it all out and figured it was the best thing to do. And they know most of those people are just going to turn around and spend the money with Disney anyway. :rotfl:

Hmmm, who would do that?:rolleyes1

I just had the worst scare of my life--the woman of "the annoying people" who aren't going to St. Maarten on our day just called--she heard that DCL is offering REALLY good discounts on the Dec. 8 cruise. She called her husband to get him to book it and they would take the grand-children as a Hanukkah gift. She called back a little while later and gave me the news--the kids can't miss school that week because of some special testing program they're having. I am the luckiest woman in the world right now--that's twice that they've been blocked out of my vacation! It's beginning to look to me like this vacation is really just meant to be!

Beth

I'm sitting here at work, and actually said "Oh no!" out loud as I read the first few sentences of your post. Whew that was a close one.

I would :confused3

How about Salt Water Taffy... since that is what I'm bringing to represent New Jersey.. We could find a microwave and throw popcorn popcorn::

It must be time for me to go home. I thought you were going to throw the microwave! :rotfl2: :lmao:

A word for the men ...... Speedos are not appropriate ANYTIME, ANYWHERE! :scared:

:thumbsup2 THANK you!!

I'm up to page 392 so far....

Yeah but I think we and Rob have a princess: sensor. :rotfl2:

- Bill

I don't know what it is?? I guess my timing is set for wenches more than pirates! :lmao: I see that post **96 or **97 and I try to post and the next thing you know..... princess: Oh well!! At least it's all in good fun!! I'm glad that we can all cut up on here and have so much fun together!!! :woohoo:

Stacy: I had thought about salt water taffy, too! But my DS came up with a much better suggestion. I'll have to work on it, but I think I can pull it off.

Wendy: The second sea day sounds good to me! Of course, I'm always ready for a party of any kind, especially while on vacation.

Bill & Jennifer (and everybody else!): This is the first vacation I have taken in years where I won't have to work at all. Up until this year, I was responsible for managing all of the incoming email for everyone here. That meant that I had to check email every morning, at noon and again at night. I was limited to four-night cruises because I couldn't get anyone to cover the email for longer than that. Fortunately, I'm no longer responsible for any of that. I'll have my computer with me for fun things like downloading my pictures and burning them onto CD's, but no work. In fact, if any of you need your digital cameras unloaded, I have a media card reader and would be glad to help!

Well, I guess I'd better do a little bit of work. There aren't that many work days left for me, and I have a major project that has to be completed before the 15th of November.

Beth

Can I jump in? Very, very late....I know!! It was a last minute decision. Just booked it this afternoon :cool1:
It is sooooo hard to give up those Fl resident rates.

We actually just cruised on 9/15, which was our first and we are now hooked.

I know that there is no way I can read all these posts....what a lively group!

So, what do you all have planned?

Im so excited! I still can't believe we are booked.

Congratulations and welcome!! More twins, how fun! Did you get caught up on the DisMeet on embarkation day, Secret Mickey, and the bridal shower?

No, actually we have a cat 9....what is the secret behind cat 12?
With the military and florida rate, you can get a great discount on most categories (we saved $1200 on my DB's cat 7, and $1000 on my DSis' Cat 7). But the only discount they are offering the general public is a Cat 12 gty for $599 per person, which is a GREAT deal!

Ok, no offense to anyone, but turn your heads. I GET MORE FREAKIN' WENCHES ON HERE THAN PIRATES!!!! WHERE'S MY WENCH AT??!! Dang it Brack!!!:sad1: ....:lmao:

I loved Brack's pictures! And I gotta tell you Robby, you did ask for it....:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Mine says Pfishgirl on it.. I know, I'm so Original.. :rolleyes1

So what does Pfishgirl mean anyway:confused3

I love the stocking idea and Christmas theme. we actually moved to FL a year ago and we dont have any family close, so this cruise is supposed to lift our spirits.
I can't wait to see the ship decorated for Christmas! And we are a spirited group, so I'm sure we will lift yours!!

So Pooh_Girl was asking me a question and I thought I would double check on here to make sure I was telling her right. So if we book a GTY Cat 12, we get the difference back, whatever that is. And if there are no Cat 12s available, then they upgrade you to another room?? Is that correct so far?? So if we went from our Cat 11 down to a GTY Cat 12, we might get a Cat 12 and we might get a Cat HIGHER than our 11, right?? And Disney doesn't charge you for the upgrade, it's just part of the Disney Customer Service Gamble. Am I telling her everything right? Thanks!!!!

Yep that's it! We were in a Cat 11 midship on deck 7 for our Med cruise. After our final payment date they offered a Cat 12 GTY for half of the cost of the 11. We changed to the 12, and got half our money back! Then ended up in a Ct 11 midship on deck 6 (and that was just the DD and I). And to be honest, I don't think they had anyone staying in the cat 12s during the cruise. Because as soon as we boarded, there was a sign at Guest Services that said "no upgrades available." Plus Dec 1 looked very empty when we were walking around down there.

Okay, got to take care of a couple things and get out of here. I'll catch up more later. :surfweb:

How about the 2nd Sea day for a shower?

That works great for me! :bride:

I used to work at Walt Disney Travel Co in CA. We booked the packages to Disneyland and San Diego. What gets booked out of Tampa? The perks for working for Disney are great! :yay:

We book hotel reservations in addition to park tickets etc for WDW, I am with the repeaters (guests who have been to disney 3+ times)
Maybe you can offer some reassurance.... I start work this Saturday and have 6 weeks of training, right after that is our "weddingmoon!" Do you think Disney will be upset that i am leaving for a week during the busy holiday season, even if i cleared it with my recruiter/labor dept. ???
Im a bit nervous about starting my new job!:scared: :scared: :scared:

Hi Julie!

I am just creating "another" spreadsheet with park hours, parade times, fireworks and any confirmation/reservation numbers we have for this weekend. I like to keep it on one sheet and have it as a guide. The first time we went to WDW, we didn't have a plan. We didn't make any ADRs or an outline of what we wanted to do. So, I have learned from that experience. Last year, we went during Thanksgiving week. WDW was crazy full of people. I couldn't get any ADRs. So, I don't know if I am overplanning this or just try to make sure we get everything accomplished we want out of the trip. We only have one ADR made for this weekend. Bill really wants me to try this restaurant at Epcot. We already have an ADR for them in December too. So, we'll see if we keep the reservation.

- Jennifer

Speaking of guides...who is your guide for DVC?

Which epcot restaurant does Bill want you to try?

I was thinking that we should go down to DL sometime before the cruise just to get us in the mood. We've lived in LA for 3 years now and not gone yet, so it's about time. I was thinking this time of year would be less crowded as well... as long as we don't go on a holiday weekend. :wizard:

  :confused3 :sad2: Yes! You need to go NOW!!! :yay: Three years! Wowzer!

Bill & Jennifer (and everybody else!): This is the first vacation I have taken in years where I won't have to work at all. Good for you! :thumbsup2 Now you can truly "escape" and, believe it or not, enjoy the vacation even more. :goodvibes

- Bill

We were tempted to call our family and friends last time, but couldn't imagine what the phone bill would have been.:scared1: Bill expenses his cellphone too. But, I don't think they'd go for calls made on vacation in the Caribbean unless they sent him there.

- Jennifer

In the US Virgin Islands it is like using the cell phone anywhere in the USA. :thumbsup2
