I am the only disney nut in my family but I have 2 in training right now :rolleyes1
your fiance if very smart about making more by working for disney we Disney addicts seem to hand over our money to them anyways.

Very true! Being in reservations will be very dangerous for me.. I love hearing other peoples vacation plans almost as much as planing my own!

Wendy, when I try to print the cruise info (DISmeet & Secret Santa/Mickey) on your blog I get 5 blank sheets. How do I get the info to print?

Judy,
We're having a fashion emergency right now, as tomorrow is disco day at school. I'll do some testing on printing from the blog in a little bit, and get back to you.

Wendy

It must have been some kind of miracle that the dec 8th cruise had rates of 599$ We were booked for a february cruise, cancled that when we decided to elope and booked the december one PLUS the wedding package for the same price as just the feb cruise. :woohoo:

That is quite a score! :worship:

I think we need to call ourselves "The Ship of Deals" or something, so many of us have scored some good savings on this. It cracks me up that we have basically the equivilent of all the "real" Cat 12 rooms booked just between us.:rotfl:

It still confuses me a bit why Disney would over book all of the Cat 12s, But trust me...Im not complaining! We should all have a big online party when they start calling to tell us we have been upgraded!

Ok, having a dreadful time keeping up this week, especially as I promised myself I'd unpack boxes and prep for Hallowe'en before I thought any more about DECEMBER! Sigh.

Thanks for the photo advice, I've done the process before, but at sites embedded in the board, if that makes sense. I'll set up a photobucket acct I guess...Lord I hope I can use one of my "regular" passwords, I hate it when they demand nonesense like, "at least 10 characters, no more than 5 of which can be letters, and it's case-sensitive". Ok, not quite, but you know...

1. What is your favorite special feature on a DVD?
Depends. Loved the "virtual ride" on the Little Mermaid anniversary DVD. Love the commentary on the Veggie Tales videos, if anyone else knows them...those guys are a riot.:lmao:

2. What would be the three main rules if you ran your own country?
Um, no boom cars. (Thank goodness people are now spending their money on ipods--much quieter.) Chocolate is not fattening. And we're funding health care and education so people get the services they need. (Ok, that's my commie Canadianism; we've got a "system" but it's badly under-resourced.):teacher:

3. Coke or Pepsi? Don't care, but given my choice I'll take Coke Zero over any of those icky diet versions. (JMO! ;) )

4. What villain from literature or history do you relate to the most? There's this really cool "pirate queen" from 16th C Ireland called Grace O'Malley. I've been to her castle (ruin). Can't say I'm like her, but I'd love to be! : princess: pirate:

5. Dogs or Cats and Why? Used to be a cat person, then a dog person, married a guy with allergies and am a convert to rodents. Really. We've got the sweetest little guinea pig. :dogdance: (Looks like a guinea to me.)

Other catch up--helloemi you guys are just the cutest! What a great picture.

Wendy I laughed to hear you describe how your trip has grown. These things take on a life of their own! We are now trying to plan our vacation for next summer b/c we "saved" money on Southwest and now have to use the tickets we booked on points for something else, within the year. Snowball! Good luck with that fashion emergency.

Jennifer and Bill, are you excited about your trip this weekend? (Silly question.) Hope you're resting up for that drive!

Stephanie, I think the way you had envisioned the page will work great. I bought a sheet of magnet "stuff" at Michael's, it's magnet on one side and sticker-ish on the other side. (You can see my job is NOT writing technical specs!). It would be easy to cut up the sheet and apply the appropriate pieces to a sticker-magnet cut to size. Is this the kind of stuff others have said they have for making sticker-magnets?

Which reminds me, can we bring anything sharp?? Even in our checked bags? I want to bring a corkscrew, and I have a great little Swiss army knife I use a lot...Can we pack them in checked luggage these days, both for the cruise and the airlines?

And can anyone tell me why my dd is putting her cute but dirty socks into the Lego bin? Make no wonder I can't find a matching pair...:confused3

Ok, enough for now, this is getting too long. Back to boxes and bats.

LOL, yes! I am checking my ressie obsessively to see if we've been assigned...I know, it's waaay early! ;) Hmm, that sounds more interesting than sorting through boxes of old clothes...

.... Last year we got engaged at Cinderellas Royal Table on December 11th at the christmas party.

That's SO awesome!!! That's mine and DW's (Pooh_Girl) anniversary!! You got engaged on our anniversary!!! :woohoo:

Since school started we are on bag #6 of socks and for the life of me I could not figure out what in the world was happening to all of those socks well yesterday my youngest son left his socks in the middle of the floor in the living room and I told him to come inside and put them in the laundry room so he runs and picks them up then runs to the laundry room and for some reason I decided to follow him and lo and behold I find out what was happening to all of the socks. He just stood at the door of the laundry room and threw them in, the both flew behind the washer/dryer. Needless to say I know what I am doing Sunday... Moving that washer and dryer out to get all of those socks.

I checked back through my paperwork for all of my previous cruises, and this will be the least expensive (to start with, at least) that I've ever taken, and all of the others have been four-nighters!

I'd love to know exactly how many Cat. 12 gty rooms were booked altogether. We know that people on this thread have booked most, if not all of them. It sounds to me like loads of people (all but 12 groups!) will get upgrades. Jim figures we'll be last on the list for any upgrades because we're just two adults, but we don't care. As long as we have a place to sleep and I have a place to shower (he'll get his 10 minutes AM and 10 minutes PM;)) and do my makeup (I don't want to scare anybody) I don't care where I am on the ship, really. I kind of like the location of those Cat 12's for purposes of leaving and reboarding the ship. The elevators take a really long time, and I have bad knees so the stairs can take me even longer.

helloemi: You said:
I thrilled to have people on the ship sharing in our excitement seeing as we are eloping.
My DS and DDIL eloped to Las Vegas. Of course, we and 16 of our closest friends went with them. And our "gang" helped the couple before and after their ceremony with celebrations since those couples were alone. They're thinking (DS and DDIL) about renewing their vows on a DCL cruise in two more years, which will be their 10th anniversary. I guess that means I'll have to start thinking about that cruise, too.

OK, the clock is moving way too slowly. I really need to go home and take a nap, but I can't, since I have to get DGD to soccer practice at 6 PM. Oh well, dinner's ready (left-overs) and I can just sit at the field and work on my knitting while she plays soccer.

Wendy

Heh... I just get this picture in my mind of Wendy running out of a NATO meeting....

"Sorry... can't talk... disco day...." /dash

Honestly Im not too sure of where it takes place on board! They told me that they do the ceremony the day before CC so that either the Captain or the Assistant Captain can marry you. I know that there is a concierge who directs us where to go, so if it wasnt for them i would be lost to my own wedding! I thrilled to have people on the ship sharing in our excitement seeing as we are eloping.

I could be wrong on this, but I think they do it on the "secret" deck on deck 7 which is COOL because my room is like 10 feet from that deck and we can throw rice at you when you come out!! :lmao: Ok, I wouldn't do that, but I would be tempted to watch from the deck 8 overlooking it!!!popcorn:: I'll even take pictures!!!:yay:

Works for me! Personally, I think they do it cause getting $599/person out of 100 extra people who couldn't resist the deal is better than getting $0 for all the empty rooms. Plus, then people who get upgraded look at it as some Disney Magic and incur even more good will toward Disney.

The only thing that surprises me is that they're so flexible in letting people who have already booked higher staterooms "downgrade" to get the good deal. But, again, that's Disney customer service! I'm sure there are some bean counters somewhere who worked it all out and figured it was the best thing to do. And they know most of those people are just going to turn around and spend the money with Disney anyway. :rotfl:

But she's changing into some kind of really sparkly disco outfit as she runs out, right? So that Jasmine can see what those clothes were really like:rotfl:.

I just had the worst scare of my life--the woman of "the annoying people" who aren't going to St. Maarten on our day just called--she heard that DCL is offering REALLY good discounts on the Dec. 8 cruise. She called her husband to get him to book it and they would take the grand-children as a Hanukkah gift. She called back a little while later and gave me the news--the kids can't miss school that week because of some special testing program they're having. I am the luckiest woman in the world right now--that's twice that they've been blocked out of my vacation! It's beginning to look to me like this vacation is really just meant to be!

What's so sad and funny at the same time is that this sounds just like my DH! I wouldn't be surprised if your DS tortures the woman he marries with the same habit. :lmao:

I won't go into details since you will all be meeting this man, after all (and he'd kill me for details), but let's just say every time I need to do a load of laundry for the necessities, I have to go on a scavenger hunt.

And... that would be reason #112 we don't have kids yet.... I'll post more as I think of them.

I figure the same thing. We might still end up in a 12. It's definite that anyone with 4 in their party will be upgraded. So that opens up a few. Doesn't matter to me either way. We've been in an 11 on Deck 6 before. As long as they're not actually smaller than the 11, I don't care where it is on the ship! :rotfl:

My DH is more of a "closet person". We have loads of closets in our "suite", and I keep the laundry bag in one of them. However, he tosses all of his clothes through the closet door, without regard to where they land. I've given up searching the closet floor. When he has no more clothes, I send him on the closet hunt, and then make him do all of the laundry that he finds. It hasn't broken him of the habit, though!

:lmao: Sequins falling off and leaving a trail down the hall......

Wow... this woman really is like a bad penny. She just keeps popping up all over the place during your vacation. If she still somehow manages to turn up, we'll just all start calling you "Linda" as we see you on the ship. Maybe it'll throw her off and she'll think you have a twin somewhere. :lmao:

I also tell DH "I'm only doing the laundry that's in the hamper. Anything else gets left out." But he knows I'm going to do it anyway, cause either way, he'll end up without clean underwear and I'll have to do another load of laundry at midnight so he can be decent at work the next day.

OK, so I took it apon myself to remove all the childrens names OFF of the Secret Mickey Excahnge list... Not sure if it is too late or not.. Not sure if anyone *not us of course but you know who I mean* has printed the listing of our Cabins & Names for some Odd reasons

If you would like the list removed completely let me know.. and I will edited it out...

I did leave room numbers up, if you would like them removed, feel free to let me know...

It is so sad, knowing that we have a Spy or 2 cauing some Chaos for us and on a Disney Cruise as well :sad2: What is this world coming to.. :guilty:
