Wendy:

I'm glad the line dancing class went well the other night. I am sure the Officers had a few drinks in them to let their guards down. That would have been a sight! :lmao:

- Jennifer

Yup, I told the General beforehand that alcohol was key. They had shots of Jack Daniels readily available. The rule was that if you talked about work that one of the "Deputies" would punish you by making you do a shot. Lots of folks were talking business just to have an excuse to drink. I hope all those Generals brought their drivers with them!

They were quite the happy bunch!

Wendy:

How do you get Netflix in Belgium. Is it an international company or do the movies come from the states?

- Jennifer

It really is sad that you have to think "worst case scenario" now just to keep kids safe. I remember when we were kids, we'd run around outside, ride our bikes, hang out at the mall on Friday nights.

And with all the sickos out there... yeah... it baffles the mind. But it's made people completely paranoid about simple things...even cards.

This is the thing that saddens me the most now a days. I too used to ride my bike with my friends all over the neighborhood (maybe a 2 mile radius!) If we needed a bathroom break we didn't go home we went to the nearest neighbors house! You can not let the kids do that today.

This is one of the reasons I do not block many things on this board and I let so much of my information out. I do not like being forced into fear. Now fortunately I do not have young kids and I would not meet anyone in a dark alley! :confused3 (a dark ride like Soarin' maybe ....). Still I am fairly open here because I want to meet and know people. If I had young children I might be less open but it is still sad that we even have to consider the "worst case scenario" :sad2:

They come from the States. On a good week, the DVD will just be delayed by 2 days, on a bad week its up to 5. So what I do is copy the DVD onto my computer as soon as I get it, and mail it back the next morning. Then I transfer it to my Zen and can watch it on the Zen or plug the Zen into the TV. I figure as long as I watch and delete the movie within a week I'm not really cheating - just compensating for the extra mailing time.

By the way I have 4 coupons for 1 month free of Netflix. If anyone wants one just let me know. All I have to do is PM you a code that you enter into the website. Then you'll get a free month and I'll get an extra movie.:thumbsup2

well last time I said BRB and never came back I got in trouble.... so I figured I would say goodnight to stay in good standing.... but I guess I made it worse

It was a good pirate:!

Say isn't that an oxymoron?:confused3

Yes, I don't know if I'd be as open if I lived in the states. The fact that I communicate with Americans, but live an ocean away give me more leeway. Also now that I have a Vonage phone number, I can give that out without anyone knowing where I am. I plan on just keeping it as a permanent number wherever I live around the world.

We watched Knocked Up last night. I don't want to ruin it for you but. . . personally, I didn't like it. I didn't find it as funny as the 40 Year Old Virgin. Maybe, you'll like it better.

- Jennifer

Ok that just sounds dirty that you got Knocked Up from Netflix.

We saw it on date night and liked it. For us it was laugh out loud funny.

We did see "The Kingdom" last weekend and really thought it was great.

Brack--I wanted to tell you that your pictures are great. I see them on a couple of other boards, too. I'm hoping to have some time this weekend to post some more pictures.

Beth

Thanks

I got my DVC purchase all worked out. I'm going to buy into SSR at $10 off per point. I'll put it all on my Disney Visa which will earn me 200 Rewards Dollars, plus it looks like I'll get the 500 additional Rewards Dollars.

When I got my Disney Visa in August they gave me a 0% APR for the first 6 mos. So I'll be able to keep my $ in my CD for at least one more interest payment.

Then I'll book 3 studios for our pre-cruise stay. This would be the same amt of points as a 2-bedroom, since DB and his family are only staying 1 nt. And no one will have to sleep on the sofa bed. Plus I'll save the $500 I was going to spend at POR!

Now I just need to wait for the paperwork to get here in the mail...

Wait wasn't there something about only being able to earn 750 Rewards Points a year? I think there's an option to also get $500 off the price. I better just do that.

in the last weeks she's had all sorts of tests and procedures. We're waiting now for "the big test" next Tuesday to see if the latest treatment worked. Maybe I'll have some great news to share--even if I can't ever seem to get a pirate! Keep her and DS in your thoughts during the next couple of days.

Beth

Beth, as someone who first became a mom at 36, I know a little of what your DIL might be going through...best wishes for her and ds. Keep us posted.

:dance3: All three of our children are very friendly, even to strangers. I don't want to scare them into being rude and discourteous to strangers. But, how do I keep them safe too? It is a fine line. We've even come across children that won't talk to our very friendly children because their parents have scared them to "not talk to strangers". The generation of children growing up right now are very sheltered and are going to be very anti-social if we aren't careful. I make sure to keep an eye on our children at all times in public and told them they can only talk to strangers if Mommy or Daddy are there. So, they know the rules and are happy little kids in the process.
