So... life has decided to take a big ole chunk out of my hindquarters.

Was all set last night with the quote for this cruise... got the TA to offer an On Board Credit... printed it all out, put on my sequined formal gown and presented it to DH a la Vanna White. He asks me one question.... just *one*.... which I go to look up on my computer, only to find out my computer has imploded.

So, he stayed up till 2am reformating it and reinstalling Windows, etc. I've been told to test drive it today and see if it holds or see if it shuts itself down again. If it bites the dust again today, we go out tonight to buy a new computer. If it holds, I can request another quote for the cruise. But he's saying the money is only going to one or the other.

I'm kinda bummed :sad1:

Hope it holds out for you.

OK, I've just read the 27 pages posted since I was able to be here yesterday. It was a little confusing, since I started with the last post and worked back! I spent all morning in a very boring training session about document and information management. It seems that's now become part of my job too:confused3. But now I'm back, and getting ready to head out for lunch.

To answer some earlier discussions:
  • We'll be using a stocking as a fish-extender. I'm hoping to knit one, but real life is getting in the way of my craft and art projects these days. I still have to knit nine pairs of mittens and nine hats for DGD's soccer team before the end of next week!
  • We're in New Jersey, on the shore, just like Stacy, so we're in the same time zone.
  • Our town has a boardwalk, but not the kind with rides and amusements. Ours is mostly an oceanfront promenade, with a very upscale retail/dining area.
  • We have five people in our house, and each adult has his/her own computer. DGD uses the one in the dining room, which is the only desktop. It's not unusual for us to send IM's to each other from one part of the house to the other!
  • I think it was plutojudy who said her after-cruise night will be at Port Orleans Riverside. That's where we're heading after the cruise, too.
  • Still no pirate for me!
OK, gotta go--the phones are ringing like crazy and I'm the only one in the office right now!

I know you are fellow Texans so I am not sure if there is any computer geek assitance :badpc: I can offer so that you don't have to miss out on the cruise.

"Hi...my name is Bill, and I'm a recovering computer geek." :lmao:

And for Bill and Jennifer....
I saw on the DVC forum that if you close by the end of November and use a Disney Visa for part of your deposit that you get 500 Disney Dollars!

Evil, evil, evil...you are feeding the impulse buying monster within us! ;)

I was not aware of the Disney Visa thing so thank you for the heads up! In our paperwork from DVC, there were also 2 other incentives. One was where they will contribute a decent chunk of change towards your down payment and the other one was where you could either knock 8 dollars off of each point you buy or get a full years of points at signing as a bonus. You really can't lose either way. Man they have this whole temptation thing down. :)

- Bill

Don't forget about the 0% interest for 6 months for your deposit too.... :)

I am hiding my wallet where I cannot find it as we speak. :rolleyes1

- Bill

I'll hide it for you honey! And men talk about women and their spending! (Just kidding!) This would be for the family's benefit. So, Bill is usually pretty open on investing in "quality" family time.

:rotfl: Thanks! We're actually in California... you must be confusing me with someone else. But, believe me, after that Tinkerbell photo, I'll never confuse *you* with anyone else..... :scared:

DH is a huge computer geek too. He got involved in video games early in life and it carried over to making sure he could fix any computer problem that cropped up. He's usually able to get most things sorted out, and the computer seems to be doing pretty well so far. Which is huge in my mind considering I couldn't even get it to boot last night after whatever it decided to do. :confused3

Sorry, I think I saw the avatar for mommyoftwininfants right before I replied and Texas stuck in my brain. I am glad to hear that you have a resident geek to try and remedy it. :badpc: Hope it all turns out OK. :goodvibes

- Bill

Bill, mommyoftwinfants is also in Texas. I need a who's who list due to all the new people on here!

- Jennifer

I don't know if you've all been a good or bad influence on Bill. :rolleyes1

- Jennifer

 Bad Influence:
He's so close to signing on the dotted line for the DVC

34 minutes until it is time to go pick up DD from Pre-K. Weather has turned from nice and fall like to humid and gross. Temps are not like they were in August, but I had to shut all of the windows because I do not do humidity.

 Good Influence:
He just booked us at the Boardwalk for the night after we disembark from the cruise!

:headache: I am so over hot and humid weather. It is miserable in Texas! I am ready for the cooler weather. Which in Texas, that means 70's and 80's. :lmao:

A hummingbird has just shown up where the feeder normally hangs and sat on the hanger and then hit the window. Apparently she was rather upset that I took the thing down and am washing it.

I was just thinking awwwww, but then I started laughing out loud, I love those clorox commercials:happytv:

So I get to share this TMI dream I had last night. In my dream, I kept having this sensation that I had to go #1. I mean it was very strong. So in my dream, I would go to a potty (in several places since I move around from dream to dream) and nothing would come out. Suddenly at 3AM or so, I sat up and realised I really needed to go. I got to the potty and thankfully I went.

Thank goodness that my subconcious kept me from wetting the bed at 30-something. :rolleyes1

Sorry for the TMI.
