I still can't seem to shrink my Tickers.. I guess maybe because it is a Premade type of code that it won't shrink.. :confused3

Stacy:

Our ticker wouldn't shrink either. I had to keep removing lines and moving things around for our signature to fit.

I did get some exciting news from DVC today....

Last week I was able to get 3 studios at SSR for the night of the 7th, and this past Monday I waitlisted for 2 studios or a 1BR for the night of the 6th, when it's just the 4 girls.

Today I got the 1BR!  The pros are a jacuzzi tub and full kitchen. But of course the con is we'll need to move rooms in the morning.

So I put in another waitlist for 2 studios, which would be ideal. But at least now we are guaranteed a place to stay without having to pay any $$ (would be kinda a bummer after laying out all the money for the DVC membership).

We have late dining because we usually eat late at home, too. DS doesn't get home from work until 7:45 PM when he works the day shift, and the five of us try to eat all of our meals together, so dinner is usually around 8:15 anyway. Like Stacy, we're "old folks"--much older than she and her DH, by the way--and we like to take our time. My DH is also a napper, and I sometimes nap while on vacation, too. Unfortunately, even with a nap I can't stay up late! I'm so used to waking up at 5:30 AM that I just can't convince my body that it's OK to sleep later:mad:.

I had planned on putting my postcards in the stockings or fish extenders, too. It just seemed like the logical thing to do!

I had to rearrange my sig a bit because the link to my photos got lost. It seems to be OK now.

And...still no pirates. Maybe I'll get the 10,000th post?

Well, DH should be home soon.. He is going to a NJ Devils game tonight withOUT me

but... It's OK cause I have a Date tonight :rolleyes1 dinner and a movie or something..

DS & I are going to get our Haircuts, then to Dinner, then either coming home to relax or we may go out for a quick walk on the Boardwalk..

It is 70 degrees here again :cheer2: Welcome back Shorts & T-shirts!!

I talked to the other parents in the class and they are having the same issue. Just way too much homework!!

When DS7 was in Public School last year, he would come home with at least two hours of homework each evening. I honestly felt bad for the kid, because he was at school all day and then had to come home and do more schoolwork. Homeschooling him this year has been so great! He finished TWO weeks worth of schoolwork in three days. He doesn't know it, but I had him do double work this week to make up for being at WDW next week. He didn't even notice or complain. He knew when we finished all the books, he was done for the week. So, he was excited to get all the books out of the TO DO bin into the COMPLETED bin. I have an agenda to follow that came with his books. Kind of like "Homeschooling for Dummies". :lmao:

70's. . . your weather sounds perfect! :cool2: I can't wait for DD5 to get a little older. So, we can do more Mother-Daughter outings. I need someone to come with me to see the Nutcracker and Phantom of the Opera. We use to go into Boston all the time when I was younger to see shows. Now that I think of it, she may just be the "perfect" age right now . . .

We do have a WELCOME matt at the Front door.. although we use the back door since the Gsrage is detached back there..

Maybe I need to learn the Art of Towel sculpting & buy a supply of Chocolate mints for our Pillows.. ;)

I so wish I could homeschool DD. I almost feel like I am, what with all our time being consumed by homework. I feel bad for her too. I've been doing her chores around the house, and our houseguest has been exercising the dog for her. Next week the 11 year old who's staying with us goes home, but this Saturday I pickup another 9 year old for a week. At least they can commiserate together over all their math problems!

Well I get a little upset when DH calls our son a Momma's Boy.. Not to DS of course.. but I am Thankful that my 17 year old STILL wants to be seen with his Mom in Public :goodvibes

PLUS.. his Friends think I'm cool ;) Cause I listen to the Same music and like the same Scary movies They do...

Oct 26th !! Saw IV !!! but we will be Trick or Treating in MK so we will have to go when we get back home.. or even wait til after Halloween if they can wait That long...

That's where we'll be as well, and I don't think you really miss anything. They do about two of everything so that the late diners can see it and the early diners can too.

Well... since we Are Newwww and we Need the Activity... how about a point a night?? I could even offer you a Special "Meal Plan" of course... as of this moment we are still waiting for the Kitchen and Dinning Room to be delivered.. But we do have some Comfy Sofas...

Don't forget MK fireworks, Coffee or Tea or Hot Chocolate for princess: Jasmine  every night Viewable from the Front porch..

Wow, that IS a deal!!

I read an article not too long ago that was talking about how homework has really increased in the last few years. They attribute it to a more competitive environment in the work force. It talked about how it used to be good enough to just say you had a Bachelor's degree. Then employers wanted post-grad work. Now they're actually looking at transcripts and school ranking.

They interviewed a child psychologist who said children should never be given more than 10 minutes of homework per grade they're in. So a first grader should never have more than 10 minutes a night, a 5th grader - 50 minutes, and a senior in high school, 2 hours. But it doesn't seem like that holds true anymore. :sad2:

DH and I have talked about homeschooling if we ever have kids simply for the stress factor. And, living in LA, if you don't home school, you have to expect to pay anywhere from $10,000-$30,000 per year for private school. The alternative is the LAUSD school district - of which, (I believe, tho I may be wrong) every school qualifies for No Child Left Behind funding because they all score under national standards. :sad2:
