Wowza Jennifer, that is quite a gingerbread house! Thanks for posting that.

Congrats to Will on doing so well with his team. Funny, I don't think any 6 or 7 yo's do football here...never heard of it. Soccer, hockey, baseball, I guess...our ds is NOT so inclined, though they are both sticking with Tae kwon do this fall, which is awfully cool I think. (4yo dd in her little "ninja suit" is totally cute as a dickens, let me tell you...thank Kim Possible for the interest in "ninja school". ;) )

We cruised last year for our Tenth Anniversary. Bill (DH) surprised me with a trip to WDW and the cruise. Cruising and Anniversaries seem to go hand-in-hand.

"Happy Anniversary" to all those onboard celebrating. We'll be celebrating our Anniversary onboard too, just a little late. We're also a "November" Anniversary. We are making the Palo dinner our Anniversary dinner. NO KIDS! :dance3: YAHOO! :cool1: Once we had the third child, it seemed harder to get a sitter or even to burden family members to watch the kids. So, we don't get many "date nights". One child is okay, two is manageable, but three seems to be people's limit. THANK GOODNESS FOR THE OCEANEER'S CLUB AND FLOUNDER'S!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Thank you for the well wishes for Will. He is not an aggressive kid. So, it took him a few practices to let go. He is always told to be careful with Cole (DS2) and don't push Emily (DD5). So, he wasn't use to being able to push kids around and it being okay. He got the hang out it half-way through the season. We live in Texas. The children here come out with a football in their hands. I am not originally from here, so I am not use to it yet.

Will did Tong Il Lo (Martial Arts) last year. All the kids looked so cute in their uniforms. Emily wants to do it this year too. SHE WANTS TO DO EVERYTHING! Must be a girl thing!

I hear Bill pulling into the garage. I'd better help him bring in the groceries. Have a great evening! We have a busy day tomorrow. So, we may or may not be online. Until next time. . .

 Our camera broke on our first day at WDW before the cruise. We were so upset! The trip of our lifetime and we couldn't fully document it. The silly camera kept turning itself off and then the lense would not go back into the camera. We've since had it repaired. But, we don't have too many pictures of the cruise to share. Sorry. :sad2:

 I would freak if my camera went haywire on me! :scared1:

Back to paying attention here at camp :goodvibes

stopping by to say hello... DH, DS & I went to Olive Garden for dinner and then we went Ice Skating :goodvibes

I was VERY surprised at the music that was chosen for tonight :sad2: ALL RAP and UNCENSORED !!!!! :scared1: There were alot of teenie boppers but there was a group of children that had to be less then 10 years old..

:sad2: How sad!

Why would anyone connect rap music with skating? When I think of ice skating the movie 'White Christmas' comes to my mind not Snoop Dog! :confused3

Yup... it was horrible.. after an hour we had enough... I mean the F bombs were flowing like water.. :sad2:

Good morning!

Stacy sorry your outing was not so fun...I would hate that too; kids or no, some things I don't want to listen to!

So I was laying in bed with all these details circling...

Shore days. We're not really planning on doing much, maybe a few hours to shop/explore in St Maarten; maybe, maybe some beach time in St Thomas...so, here's my question. If we plan to take advantage of staying on the ship, when are more people going to be OFF? Does everyone rush off first thing and start trickling back after lunch or do people have a leisurely morning and stay busy at port through the afternoon? Or am I overthinking it??

"Navigator" stuff, kids clubs etc. I hate to schedule anything, like Palo, without knowing what else is up. Does anyone know if the "regular events" tend to be scheduled the same from week to week? E.g., the pyjama party night in the club, the galley tour, that sort of thing...

I know there are a bunch of us late-comers waiting to book Palo. We haven't "signed up" for brunch or anything with the group. Is there still "room" anywhere (I think Wendy's is full?), if not, maybe we could build another group, and how do we do that if we haven't actually got a time? Pick a time and all try to book it when we get there and hope for the best?

Phew. Sorry to make this like work this morning!!

Today dh is renting a UHaul and we're finally picking up the rest of our stuff that we put into storage before we sold our house--you know, that "staging" thing where you have to make it look like no-one actually lives there. (Idiots R Us movers couldn't fit everything into the truck on moving day...a very long and sad story...) We have been functioning well, but I am looking forward to going through boxes and finding odd missing bits like--my pizza wheel! My cheese knife! (Pretty much everything I'm longing for is food-related. Haven't missed my collected works of Shakespeare one bit...:rotfl: ) So, catch you later, folks, have a good Sunday!

Hi All !!

I am getting ready for work and I'll be back later..

Where did everyone go? Did you all suddenly get a life or something?

Coastgril shore days.. getting off the ship depends on what time excursions are.. As for us personally I think ours start around 8:15am.. so we will be off Early.

Ok I have to go.. Have a wonderful day / night

I'd think St Thomas would be more of an "early off" day just because the ship isn't in port there long. I know most of the Disney excursions start pretty early for St Thomas, so I'm guessing morning on that day will be pretty empty on the ship. I think we leave St Maarten at 7pm, so people might wait a little longer to get off the ship that day. Either way though, you'll definitely notice a difference on port days.

I think most of the stuff in the Navigators stays the same from week to week. If you have an old set of Eastern ones to look at, I'd say they're probably gonna be pretty accurate. I haven't had kids in the clubs, but I'm guessing things like the pajama party, etc are the same time every week.

I think the thing with Palo is that once you have a group of no less than 12 and no more than 14, you can email in a request for one of the private rooms for one of the brunch days. I've never done it, so I'm not sure how to go about it.

We moved 6 months ago and I still have boxes I haven't gone through. What's really sad though is that I still have boxes from the move before that - TWO years ago - that I haven't gone through yet. And you figure, if I haven't used it in that time, throw it out, right? But most of it is DH's gaming stuff. And I still can't find our snorkeling equipment from the cruise 2 years ago. How can just two people have so much c**p???

I ran into a coffee franchise in WA that I actually prefer over Starbucks (blasphemy in some parts :)). It is called Tully's (sp?) and their stuff is awesome! Has anyone else been there. Angie - do they have these in OR? I can taste it now. :)

- Bill

I don't know of this franchise. To be honest though, I don't do the fancy schmancy coffee very often. Folgers or Yuban is my drink of choice. When we do occasionally get a Mocha it would be from one of the private little stands here in town. Once in awhile from Starbuck's in the grocery store.

There is only one private dining room at Palo, and yes correct that you have to have 12 - 14 names to request it. I don't know if they have 1 or 2 seatings. Our group is full. We requested Sunday with second choice of Monday. I think Wendy requested Monday with second choice Thursday. Hope this works out for us. I'm not sure how they decide who to give the room to. :confused3 I requested it back in Feb.

I have not been on much for 3 days. Welcome to those who have joined. We spent Thursday laying flooring, then Fri and Sat we went to SIL's funeral. Sad, sad for my brother. I am so glad we went. It was a 600 mile roadtrip in 2 days, but worth it. We picked my mom up at the train station in Portland Friday morning then made the 4 hour drive to my brother's. Yesterday was the funeral 9-1:30 then we headed back west with my mom. We drove her home (4 hours from my brother's) then headed back south another 2 hours to home. We got home about 9:30 last night. We planned to drive across Washington on highway 12, but missed a turn :confused3 :confused3 and wound up taking state route 480 thru Rainier National Park. It was a beautiful drive and we had not been to that National Park before so it was a good missed turn even though it added about an hour to our drive. My mom enjoyed the scenery too. We saw a huge herd of around 40 mule deer running across the highway at one point after we exited the park. Traffic had to stop to let them all run across the road. There were 2 HUGE bucks!

So, today back to starting to lay flooring in the family room, laundry room and hall. And of course, the usual :laundy: and weekend chores. Back to work tomorrow.

Hi there..

I got home from work and decided to decorate the house for Halloween.. I know we will be away 24 - 28 and Trick or Treat here is on the 30th.. The 31st is always our Annual Halloween Parade.. 70th anniversary this year..

It was warm enough outside to hang up the spiderwebs ad bats and put out the jack-o-lantern over hang lights for the train track..

We have an LGB train set that runs around the whole perimeter of the house like the ones in Germany in Epcot.. the kids LOVE & EXPECT us to have them ready for Trick or Treat..

I already bought 4 bags of reeses, 2 bags of lemonheads, 3 bags of blowpops, 4 bags of snickers, and 3 bags of KitKats oh and 2 bags of Sweet tarts.. We generally have 100 + kids no matter how many other houses get..

We love Halloween and every year we have people over.. Noone gets invited they just show up and I'm ok with that cause I'm always prepared..

edited to add... look i made the 5555 post

Oh today after work I was looking at a Travel brochures, of course No Disney ones, but they said they can Book DCL.. He told me they are awaiting the 2009 dates.. :rolleyes1

Anyway.. there was a hubby and wife who have never sailed before and she was asking everyone if they sailed and I said yes often.. She asked which cruiselines, so I told her, carinavl, ncl, & dcl..

She said her sister & her family spent like $25,000 on the DCL and was sick for 6 days :scared1: They stayed in one of the special suites and couldn't stop throwing up.. :scared: Apparently she was even on Dramamean (sp) so I said maybe that is what was making her sick because there is hardly any movement at all..

Ok so long story shortened... Her hubby Thanked me like 10 times cause I stayed an answered ALL his wife's questions.. and apparently I helped her overcome her fear and they booked a cruise  He has been bugging her for the last 10 years.. They have been married 20 years today..

Even the Travel Agent thanked me.. :rotfl: I sell a week long cruise for 2 adults and a 15 year old daughter on DCL and the Travel agent gets the commision :sad2:

I swear DCL owes me.. :rotfl2:

Your reward will be great in Heaven. ;) (That's what a good friend used to tell me everytime I did something nice!)

That's funny. Yep, they at least owe you an umbrella drink! :goodvibes

One of the things that came off the truck today from our stuff in storage was a big orange rubbermaid container with our Hallowe'en stuff. Hooray! Now I don't have to buy it all over again...it was getting to be a close thing! I am totally stocking up on pirate-themed Hallowe'en stuff, though. pirate:

 I would freak if my camera went haywire on me! :scared1:

Oh it was not happy times. :furious:

We ended up having to use a disposable camera and the quality was....well, less than magical. :wizard: At least the memories are crystal clear. :goodvibes

That is so funny you mention that as we said that same thing to someone at a birthday party today. I swear we are walking billboards for DCL as we have given many people the lowdown and shared our excitement and addiction with them. :)
