That's my only negative about our Mexican Riviera cruise this August - that and our virtually comatose meet thread... BUT we have booked our flights and our DL accommodation already plus our DS is keen on the scuba opportunities so we'll definitely be there... :thumbsup2

Two weeks ago I just had to check out your other cruise thread. That was pretty darn funny! And it only took me about 10 minutes to read the whole thing! :rotfl:

Hey................ I have 19 months to convince DS that tuxes are REALLY cool! If DS says he wants to wear a tux then there is no way DH would not wear one. He was suggesting renting one for the last cruise but I said it wasn't necessary. Silly me!

I'm sure you can work some Mommy Magic on your DS... ;) Play lots of James Bond movies... I've really no idea why my DS wants to wear a tux! :confused3 He's currently 14 and into electric guitars, soccer and, apparently, white tuxedos!!! :rotfl2:

We had a four day week, and put five days work into it.

Exactly! I do like getting days off for holidays but most of the time it's not worth it because we get so far behind. I was still trying to catch up from the Thanksgiving holiday when Christmas came around!! :scared1: I keep telling myself it is job security!

WOW how do you add all of those up?:scratchin
Thanks! That is cool!:3dglasses

When you are on the main Cruise Meets page, you can click on the total # of posts for a thread and it gives a list of posters and post counts. Pretty handy!

Kristin-
I've got some catching up to do girl!!!

It's kinda like 'CustardTart, The One Woman Show'!!! And I'll be appearing on a computer near you for the next 7 months, folks... :cool1:

Has anyone ever hired formalwear that is delivered directly to the Magic??? We're thinking it might be a good idea for us...

We used their formal wear program the last time & unfortunately had a bad experience. The minor issue is that my tux had one pant leg unaltered. That was an easy fix - the seamstress came to our cabin measured me and fixed it quickly. Best bit of advice I could give anyone is to try the stuff on immediately. Not exactly what you want to be doing the first night, but they don't keep a vast inventory of replacements.

The major issue was for one of my son's. The pants were the wrong size. We confirmed the measurements we sent (had a copy with us) and they delivered the wrong size. He couldn't even get them buttoned. They had zero kids pants in stock, too. The seamstress came up and then she worked with the smallest men's pants she had. It looked pretty bad - very baggy. Then to top things off - the sole of his shoe separated from the rest of the shoe while walking around!

A guest relations manager met with us, but it really wasn't DCL's problem. He actually took some pictures and we did receive a call from the formal wear company (they actually called our home while we were still on the cruise!?!). They refunded us for my son's tux.

My boys absolutely loved getting all decked out in the tuxes. I will say there were very few boys who did this - as well as a small percentage of men. The pictures from the waist up looked great, too!! So for this cruise I guess we'll see... It's actually cheaper to buy a boys tux then rent one so we may go down that road. Not really sure yet though.

That's a shame - very disappointing...

I was surprised to discover this when browsing online this morning so it's possible we'll buy Samuel one for August 2008 and cross our fingers it'll still fit him in August 2009... ;) I am really looking forward to seeing all my menfolk dressed up... :cloud9:

Oh gosh we love world of Disney Store too. When we were there in May for Mother's Day weekend we got picked as the family of the Day and we got Mouse Ears and got to meet Cinderella in a private room just us first before any other families it was really neat....I love the layout of that store...............

I was at that store two weeks prior to Christmas! That's when I wish the layout of the store was bigger!!

I work/live in South Jersey; however, my corporate HQ is in lovely Newark, NJ! I was there for a meeting and made an impromptu trip over to NYC (tell you why in a sec). Quick train ride, then the subway, and in & out of WOD in less than 45 minutes. Walk over to Rockerfeller Center where I had to hit the Nintendo World store (I can't stand that store, but I was on a "mission"). Subway & then train back to NJ. Very crowded! I shocked my DW when I called from my cell phone to tell what I was doing & where I was.

The mission - for XMAS we needed some Nintendo-branded clothes, plush, and/or whatever. We got some stuff from various sources on the web, but we're still looking for a few things. The bigger mission though was a Disney one. Our DS(8) has collected the Matchbox Disney bus with the year on it every year for quite some time. He either gets it when we're in WDW or at HHI. In '07 we did HHI over the summer and then WDW in November. We had the 2007 bus in our hands at WDW, but the consensus was that we got it over the summer. We were wrong. We decided to let it go, but then I remembered seeing them in NYC in the past. Unfortunately they didn't have any left. I did score several Pirates things along with a few things for DD(3) so it wasn't a waste.

I did find the bus on EBAY last week and are getting it at half the cost - so all's well I guess.

The things we do for our kids.....

We were a bit miffed at the time, but bounced back. Guest Services really tried to do everything they could to fix it.

If you get two wears out of it that would be awesome. My boys are growing machines so that amount of time wouldn't work for us!

Sounds a fab day!!! My DS and his DGF are visiting NYC in Feb - we arranged a secret trip as a Christmas prezzie for them both and they are very excited!!! They fly on Valentine's Day - how romantic... :lovestruc

I've told them all about the World of Disney store so I hope they go...

It is such a fun place to go. They should make sure they go.............................

Kristin,

Way to go,

Andrew, Unless we suddenly do not need to work, I don't think we will catch a few of these posters.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey Hey, we work we work at posting on the Disboards during the day...LOL!!!!!!!!! Tooo bad we did not get paid for this job....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You can say that again!!! This is a week I'd rather not repeat. :) But last night we had a retirement party so it was the perfect way to unwind and socialize with the co-workers outside of work!

OOH ABBY that sounds FUN!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I have not gotten out of this house in forever.............

That is awfull......How stressful on vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wore a long black skirt and dressy top. DH wore a suit. Gwynne wore a black velvet dress and Hayden wore black dress pants, long sleeved button down shirt and tie. I am definitely buying a dress for the next one and I want to get Gwynne something a little fancier too. DH was griping because he had to dress up for Palo, formal night, and semi-formal night. So he boycotted semi-formal night. This time I want to do Palo brunch so I'll only torture him with two nights of dressing up.

SOunds like you all looked really nice.................I think the brunch would be great too. If we get a group together with Carol she will book it for us for free in the private dining room!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How long till you're able to get out and about, Kristin?

WOW!!!!!! That was some adventure......What type of pirate things did you get?????

I think this is my only chance to get my post count up because after you all are done with next summer's cruises I probably will do a lousy job keeping up here!! I hope not though!
Ah well its not a contest, but I am split between two cruise meets threads, the other is very active and hard to keep up with.

Yes we pay for our bank holidays with queues the next day.

Today we just got out the girls party kit we ordered from American Girl. We are going to have a Hawaiian Lau party themed tea party with their dolls. It is sooo very cute. Then the actual weekend of their B-day we are going to NYC to the AG Cafe.................

Just a few small toys (we were done with the bulk of our XMAS shopping by then) & a few Pirate books. They had an excellent display of books right as you got off the escalator. I was also supposed to get a few Disney milk chocolate bars (we love them), but all they had left was mint chocolate and dark (which only one of us likes!).

Also saw Santa Goofy, but since I was alone I didn't stop for a photo (though I was tempted)!!
