I booked last night

We've not even been on our first cruse yet so I'm a bit worried about sea sickness etc., but as DCL gets such rave reviews I thought I'd better book now and there's always the option to cancel.

Looking forward to keeping in touch with this thread and hearing from all you experienced cruisers :surfweb:

I'm really looking forward to Tortola :beach:

Hey Jakki! Looks like we might join you guys! :thumbsup2

Don't worry about seasickness - my DH was really fussed about that and when we cruised in September was astonished not to feel the motion at all! :goodvibes

All I can recommend is go on your first cruise armed with all kinds of seasickness remedies. That will ensure nobody in your party will need them! :lmao: I had everything you could think of for any type of illness we might have encountered during our cruise and the only person who ever needed anything was my sister who was with her own family and didn't pack any type of first aid kit. LOL

Way to go Jakki:woohoo:

We are looking at the 12th Sept.
If only the flight prices weren't so stupid in August we would defo do the 15th Aug one.

I did it, Booked for Aug 15,2009 cruise, Sail date is my 52nd birthday.

Right now its just the three of us, Me, DW and DD (12) at time of sailing.

Hi everyone! I just booked this cruise :surfweb: - it will be me, DH and DD (who will be 7 at the time)...Aug 15 will be our 11th anniversary. I can't wait for Tortola! :thumbsup2

Just confirmed our booking with Dreams Unlimited so we're definitely sailing too! :woohoo:

There will be me (Karen), DH (Richard) and DS (Samuel) who will be 16 (and that I really cannot believe) at the time of sailing... :goodvibes

Only 20 months and 1 week to go... :rolleyes1

My guess formal night on a sea day say Sun or Mon and a semi formal last sea day. Ports casual.

Worth looking at EASTERN navigators it will be the same.

Roatation will be as the Eastern

Looking at my Passporter, I guess the itinerary will be something like this...

Saturday: Port Canaveral - Casual...
Sunday: At Sea - Formal...
Monday: At Sea - Casual...
Tuesday: Tortola - Tropical/Pirate Night...
Wednesday: St. Thomas - Casual...
Thursday: At Sea - Semi-formal...
Friday: Castaway Cay - Casual...

Exciting, eh? :woohoo:

Anyone have any idea if they're going to WDW before/after? :goodvibes

...what are the must do things...

I guess everyone will have their own preferences but for us a Spa treatment is essential as is dining at Palo's. We enjoyed the wine-tasting so may do that again - and we'll definitely appreciate that extra day of chilling on the Magic... :cloud9:

Thank you for that, thought so,

I am not sure as yet re WDW, if I do it would be AFTER as the crowds go down in the latter part of August and we might get free DDP, I might however go for a villa, I will see the first thing is to wrap the cruise with a Virgin holidays Flydrive.

I have 15 nights on the Magic in 08, so should have enjoyed most at leisure the previous year.

I will definately be doing WDW before the cruise, we are DVC'ers now (bought in on our last cruise:banana: ), so gotta use our points!!! When we did the Eastern in Sept 2007, that was the schedule for dinner(that is posted above), so I expect it to be the same. We loved the 3 sea days and St. Thomas, so we rebooked onboard.I can't wait to go to St. Thomas again and somewhere new! St Maarten was OK, we just didn't feel the need to go back. Can't wait for 8/15/09!

I have done St Thomas and St Maarten before but on a Princess cruise for 11 days to the southern carribean.

St Thomas has great Duty free shopping, I wasnt too impressed with St M so Tortola will be a nice change as I havnt been there before.

Well I am nominating myself for biggest turnaround - I was really disappointed yesterday, we had said any Med or European itinerary would be doable but nowhere else as we will have a 19 month old by then (due in 4 weeks time) and I am not sure about the long flight with a toddler. But....

As Tammy from Dreams emailed me with a provisional ressie, in a SPH cabin and the rate was less than I had anticipated we decided to go ahead and book. IF saving doesn't go to plan or we decide that flying with a toddler isn't a great plan I guess we can cancel but I am already getting over excited so DH will have a hard time convincing me to cancel!

There will be four of us cruising - Me (I will be 30 by then) DH AKA Darren who will be 37, DD1 Isabelle who will be 4 and the as yet unborn baby who will be 19months!

It wasn't in our plans to "do" the theme parks in 2009 as we are supposed to be saving to go in 2010 - I *think* that what we might do is have a few days in Orlando before the cruise but take it easy and just do Seaworld and try out Aquatica.

I have only cruised once with DCL and that was on the Wonder for a 3 nighter in 2004. We LOVED Palo and will be repeating it, I am looking forward to trying some of the otheronboard facilities which we didn't get chance to experience last time around.

We were actually going to do parks for 2 or 3 days before. I was interested in Seaworld for 1 of those days too. How will I be able to wait for this long????

Welcome:- 'Essex Girl' so the cruise you will enjoy the longer cruise, however I must say after a 14 day and a 11 day, and a forthcoming 15 night this cruise may feel a bit short for me.

I am thinking of a Villa in Orlando this time rather than WDW.

Good luck on baby, my son was 18 months when he went to WDW for the first time, and really enjoyed it. Flight wasnt a problem
