Good morning Double Dippers!!! I haven't been buy in a while and wanted to say HI!
Is anyone considering the parks on the 3rd and 4th of July after the cruise? I missed our trip this summer and my kids are in SERIOUS withdrawl. (They are hinting big time. Disney CD from the parks playing, the train and momorail set up in the living room, Mom can we watch our vacation tapes! Yea, they know how to real Momma in! ) But I don't know if I can handle the crowds on July 4. Maybe I need to find the school calender and try to get them there over a school break this winter, at least the weather would be cooler!
Could you go before the trip? We are not going this time around.
What ever you decide, you shouldn't tell them, especially if you end up going after the trip.
We did this, but it almost backfired. My family had been to 2 long WDW the previous years. My sister's family had not been at all. Due to their flight restriction for frequent flyer miles, they had to go an extra day. Oh darn!!!
We decided to go as well but we did not tell any of the kids. In fact, we told them over and over that we would not be going to WDW, this had been since the very beginning because we hadn't originally planned an extra day.
Well, as we were driving to our hotel, we kept asking the 3 kids what they thought we should do for the day. Well, since they had been programmed not to mention WDW, none of them would guess it. Ds said we should go to the alligator place, another suggestion was to swim at the hotel pool, etc.
So you set for Feb., have you started to look for June? Since I'm booking round trip, I have to wait until Thurs. to book if I actually found a decent price.
But Oh No, I will be out of town without access to the internet!!! We're going to Johnston's Island (up in Lake Erie, across from Cedar Point). We are going to a place that is a summer home so there's no internet hook up. Yikes!!!
We won't book our flights for the cruise until about 6 months out. Since we have access to Southwest and Airtran, we usually fly them. We're headed out this week too, to AZ.
Well, we booked onboard so we are tentatively scheduled to join you next summer!! We just returned from the West Coast cruise tonight and WE HAD A BLAST!!
We are sailing with my DH, and 3DDS (22, 19 & 16 next summer!!)
Very cool jlawall!! You mentioned tentatively scheduled, are you thinking about switching if you don't mind the question?!
Also, does dds mean all girls or is the last one a boy?
Jill, if jlawall has all the above girls mentioned, your oldest will be happy!!!! Finally, some older girls in the dis group!!!
Great job on the flights. I think you got your prices for a Song....lol, get a Song!!! I'm just so funny it is unbelieveable!! Funny, my dh didn't laugh at that......
Actually, those are really good prices. I'm going to have to really keep an eye out for some deals. So far, the prices are steady at around $250 rt.
Yes, thats great! Jlawall, my DS will be 18, just graduating from high school on this cruise. So maybe they can meet.
Lorie, I just wanna yell out, now's the time to book if your from Boston going next June, but if you're not the type to book this early, it'll be kind of a waste of time. I hope you get a good rate!
I'm still trying to figure out how we're going to get into the parks before this cruise. But the cost is ridiculous for two days for the five of us. I think we'll just have to veg for three days at the BCV...oh the pain, right? Not.
I'm really not sure Lorie. At this point it's looking pretty good. My DDs (all girls) seem into it. I've already checked around and I haven't found a better cruise to the Caribbean next summer. Our favorite all-time port is Cozumel, we're excited about Costa Maya and 2 CC visits is too amazing.
Thanks for the welcome!
We just got back last night and had an amazing time, mainly based on some DISer families who we met and did things with all week.
Joann, glad to hear you'll probably be with us!!! You must be tired from your cruise. Would you like me to add you to the official list on page 1 (you have to scroll down a few) or would you like me to wait a bit?
Jill, if I can't find a cheap rate maybe we'll come visit at your house and leave from there!!!! We can have a dis meet!!! LOL!!!!
No seriously, we usually do book early out. I like to have all by ducks in a row as soon as I can. If I could book my excursions now, I would!!
Well, it is back to work for me tomorrow. Heavy sigh!!!! I love working with the kids, but marching on blacktop for 2 weeks from 8-1 in the hot sun is starting to get a lot harder as I get older!!! In fact, we just got an electric scooter for DH because he has a foot problem and the walking on the pavement all day and going back and forth to the bandroom is really hard on him.
As of now, it's a go, so,sure, add us to the list!
DH, Ken 48 - real estate investor
Me, JoAnn 43 - 4th grade teacher
DD 21 Tara - college student - Temple U - Advertising major
DD 18 Tracy - college student - Temple U - Physical Therapy major
DD 15 Jessica - high school student - sophomore
We're from PA. This will be our 6th cruise and our 5th 7 day.
We are back from our trip to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. It was an awesome trip. We called it our anti-Disney trip since there was no commando park excursions!
Now to start figuring out what excursions to do. Decisions, decisions!
Personally, I've been working on a glorious tan the last few days. Yes, you guessed it I'm on a tropical vacation with lots of music and sun.
Oh wait, there is lots of music and sun, but there isn't anything tropical except the heat!!! The color of my skin-----band camp brown!!! I think the last 4 days have been the hottest temps I've experienced since Nassau in 6-03!!!!
Maybe if I carry around my water in a fancy glass with an umbrella in it, I can pretend that I am walking down the streets of St. Thomas sipping a guavaberry colada.
Have any of you had a guavaberry colada from St. Thomas? Oh how yummy!!!! I do have a plastic cup that we got ours in, maybe I'll carry that around!!!
Did you all see the news about the escaped convict who shot a judge, met up with his wife and were on the lam? (or is it lamb?) It made the national news. They finally caught him right around the corner from our high school in Columbus!!!
