06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

But, jeesh!, one snowflake down here and there is a rush on bread and milk! :confused3

I definitely know about that. I used to live in Augusta, GA. I remember one year we got around 4 or 5 inches of snow and the town shut down for 3 days. Up here, ya get 4 or 5 feet of snow and they still expect you to show up for work. :sad2:

Welcome Carole :welcome: I hope you stay with us as well!!! There's nothing like a DCL cruise!! And at least you have another reason to fly out.

We have booked our flights (since Aug or Sept. I think). I know that is early, but considering I booked the cruise in Sept. 2004 !!!!!

My brother and sil, are on their 1st RCCL cruise. They've done Princess a few times and loved it but they are in their mid 40's and they were the "youngens" on the cruise. It will be interesting to hear about their experience. They've never done Disney though. But every once in a while my thoughts go to RCCL and Princess, but then I change my mind immediately.

All the hype and nothing but cold rain and a few snowflakes. I still bet they sold out of bread and milk! Dreaming of a warm sunny beach! :figment:

Hi everyone! We just booked this cruise today and we are VERY excited!

We were on the August "Double Scoop" cruise, but switched to this one. We just couldn't wait!!

I haven't read through all of the posts yet, but just wanted to "get our feet wet" and say hello!

Kathy

Welcome Kathy and family!!! :welcome: We're glad you could join us!!!

Have you thought about any excursions or are you coming in early?

Check out the first page for a list of cruisers.

Check out the top of p. 23 (or 24 or 25, sorry I'm getting old!!!) for links to excursion ports.

Well, I'm ready to take the big one.........yes, it's true, after 17 long months of DCL payments, it is time to make the final one!!! :teeth: :thumbsup2 :woohoo: :cheer2:  :Pinkbounc

I'm going to do it tomorrow so that I can speak with a CM in person to check on getting the $50 room credit for paying for the entire cruise with my disney visa. I'm hopeful that I didn't mess up somewhere and forget the secret code or the secret handshake!!

I'm sure you are all just waiting on the edge of your seat to hear ;) . But yes I did do it, ALL PAID!!!! Oh yes and they did say I would get the $50 room credit for paying with my disney visa. :woohoo:

Now it is time to request my disney rewards card.

Have a great weekend!!!! :teeth:

Yeah!!! We're definately going! I booked our flight reservations this morning. We're going to fly in early Friday morning and stay at the Radisson. Then after the cruise we are going to see my in-laws in Boca Raton until July 4th.

Now we can really plan for this trip! We are in room 2528. We were on deck 2 for our first cruise and it was ok. Our last cruise we had one of the secret port hole rooms. Not so lucky this time! Doesn't matter, we're on the ship! Can't wait. My diet starts today! (Ha ha ha, I always say that!)

That's awesome Carole!!! :thumbsup2 Who cares what room you are in, YOU'RE on the MAGIC!!!!!

You do have some planning considering CC members get to make ressies on March 26!!!!

Thanks, Lorie! I am just starting to research excursions, although I think we'll stick to beach-type forays into the ports. :sunny: The links are very helpful. I've been hearing about a lot of cruises where Cozumel has been switched to Costa Maya, and I'm wondering whether we might end up with two days in Costa Maya?

We have reservations at the new Residence Inn in Cocoa Beach for the 23rd, but I'm not sure yet whether we'll be driving or flying to Florida.

If anyone else will have a DD12 or so or a DS15 or so on the cruise, please PM me if you are willing to let them IM or e-mail one another prior to the cruise. I think my kids, especially DD12, would love to "know" someone a little prior to the cruise.

Wow! We can make reservations on March 26 - it's just around the corner!

Take care!

I sent you a pm.

Hi Jillpie,

My son Andrew will be 15 at the time. He is an "only" and he also had a great time hanging out at the teen club.

For all who have teens: I'm signing up ds for the Teen Wild Side for the SECOND day at CC. Maybe we could get a bunch of the teens from the boards to sign up together!!!

When I asked which he preferred (the 1st stop or the 2nd) he said the 2nd since he would probaby have made more friends by then.

Hi Lorie! I know I'm responding to a really old post, but since we can make reservations soon, this is exactly what I discussed with my DS14 (15 on the cruise)!

Is this still your plan - to sign up for the Wild Side on the 2nd CC day? That's what we plan to do - Denny figures he'll know more of the teens by then.

Kathy

Kathy,
Just confirmed with the teen, and yes we are going to sign him up for the 2nd CC day. We thought he'd have met more kids and know them a bit better by that time. :thumbsup2

Now I have to figure out Palo brunch. The 1st sea day is looking good. I'm worried that if we plan it later in the week, we'll be stuffed to near capacity!!!

I'm hoping that we will get to go to Coz. They have continued to cancel the port through March now even though there are reports that it is up and running pretty well. I wonder if this is due to the damage of the docks and DCL doesn't want to mess with tendering?

I wonder where we would go and how this would effect our schedule. Would we still have the same at sea days? That might change things like spa and Palo ressies big time!!!

I'm debating on the rainforest. I did enjoy it, but I felt like I "had" to go everyday to get my money's worth. I'm pretty sure that this is not something you would have to have get ressies for until you got on the cruise, but I don't even know if you can do it ahead of time.

My only other thought for ressies is whether or not to do a catamaran sail and snorkel at CC. If we do it, do we do it on the 2nd day while Andrew is at Teen Wild Side or do it as a family the 1st day. We could spend the CC-2 at Serenity Bay!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day! We are inching closer! I was checking Costa Maya excursions on the DCL site and they now have a dolphin encounter. Anyone know anything about this one? :confused3

I didn't see that one. I'm going to have to check it out. Thanks for the heads up!

Hi Kath!
I have three boys, and two of them will be 13 and 14. I think they would love to "talk" to your son! That would be fun! They IM their friends all the time (well, I try to restrict it during the week, try is the operative word). We should get a kids thing going here, there are lots of them! :)

Hi Jill! That sounds great. :sunny: I will PM you with my son's e-mail address and IM address.

Hi Carole88 - We were in cabin 2528 on the July 2004 cruise - just a heads up that that cabin is right over the walkway where everyone exits when docked at port - & also the day we returned home they started taking the luggage off somewhere around 5 am & we heard every bang there was - we again on deck 2 this time around but on the other side.

Barbara

Barbarac - Thanks for the info. Wish I knew this when we booked last March. I don't think that it's listed on the noisy cabin list either. Oh well, good thing my DH and I are early risers and I think my kids can sleep through anything. On our first cruise we were on the other side of deck 2 as well but much farther back. We thought this area would be better with it beig so close to the elevator. Live and learn!

I see that you also have a 9 year old DD. Do you think that she would be interested in getting to know my DD before the cruise via email? My dd is dying to get to know some one beforehand. If so, please pm me and I will send you my email address.

Thanks.
