06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Just thought of one more thing. Hotdogs, I think it's you, are you making nametags or do you want to use the DIS green mickey heads I'm passing out at the meet. Let me know. If we're using them for nametags I'll tape safety pins on and don't want to leave that go until the end.

Oh man, tornado siren is sounding, gotta head for basement.

Good Morning:flower3:

Thanks so much Michelle for the instructions - I got the font over to my computer somewhere - put the file in the "fonts" part of the computer thingy - but can't find it anywhere to use it:confused3 :rotfl: :confused3
Time to give up on that and pack or something:sad2:

So sorry about the pins - don't know how you guys get everything done that you do - I'm single with mainly single friends and can't even keep my plants alive - it's fun to read about you guys - in a TOTALLY good way of course!!:)

Was trying to figure out the FE situation and thought I'd share these stats (feel free to make sure I am correct)
0-3----3G 1B
4-6----4G 1B
7-10---3G 6B
11-15--7G 6B
>16----3G

Total 34 kids 39 kids at heart and oops - forgot - 1 on the way

for a grand total of 74:banana: :yay:

going to have to watch out for that 11-15 age group.

anyway - just a little FYI - cured my insomnia last night at least!

Have a great day!!

On the font, you have to download the font into a file OTHER than the font file, then extract it. Once you have extracted it, you can drop and drag it to the font folder. I hope that makes sense. If you download it to the font file first, it won't work.

Well after a couple hours in and out of the basement, we are fine - hardly even any leaves even down in the yard. We kept hearing how our town was in the midst of it, but luckily not the part where we live. (We live in MN.) I'm a basket case when it comes to tornadoes, not sure why, just always been spooked. I freak when I hear the sirens even though I try to appear calm for the kids, ha! DH is a paid on call firefighter (has a regular daytime job), so he was called for standby at the firestation-thus leaving me at home in the bathroom in the basement with the kids and dog. What a couple of hours!

Now, on a funny note, I just checked our Dish programming to tape a movie tonight. DS, age 11, is taping Titanic. I told him I'm NOT watching it before we leave...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Tornado sirens is enough for me!

So glad everything is okay. Not sure my kids would make it out alive if I had to spend ANY amount of time in the basement/bathroom with them.

Too funny about Titanic. I won't watch Jaws, either.:scared:

Michelle - glad you made it - have gotten used to hurricanes - grew up on the Texas coast, but the thought of a tornado scares me to death:scared1:

Ahhh...Titanic. No worries - we have all those pretty yellow life boats:thumbsup2

Sooooo beautiful:cloud9: Can't wait!! Thanks for the link.

Saw the news and all the tornado destruction in your area. Once again - so glad you are all OK.

Michelle,

I am not making name tags, but I do recall someone asking everyone about it....HMMMMM.

So glad you guys are ok from the tornados!! My Mom just drove from NY to AZ a few weeks back. Saw lots of damage thoughout OK. Luckily for her they tornados hit 1 day before she got to OK. She did scare us though because she shuts off her cell phone (to save batteries...don't ask!) and we thought that she was in OK and didn't hear from her for 2 days:furious: !!

I've got the nametags covered. I made them on the computer and I have one for each member here plus everyone in their travel party. I put everyone's real name plus their screenname or the screenname of who they are with. So my DD's says Lauren I'm with GrumpyMom1.

I was a little sad that we didn't make it up to San Pedro yesterday to see the Magic. The pictures that Mary Jo took of her coming into the harbor were beautiful. But now we are reserving all of our excitement of seeing the Magic for the day we board. We have already talk the baby about the Mickey boat. We put in an old DCL planning DVD the other day and when it came on with a picture of the ship she said "Mickey boat".

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I think we will pull out the rest of the suitcases today and start the real packing.

Opps, sorry hotdogs and GrumpyMom1. I didn't want to go back through all the posts and find out who was doing them and thought I remembered. I think the stress of getting ready is affecting my brain!

GrumpyMom1, the nametags sound awesome and like a lot of work!!! They will for sure be going in my scrapbook! Your "mickey boat" story is adorable. How fun to be experiencing this through the eyes of a 1 year old. My 11 year old was 1 the first time we went to WDW. He loved looking at the characters but didn't want to go near anyone except Minnie and Eeyore. I have 2 favorite photos of him, one-touching minnies eyelash and two-nuzzling his forehead to Eeyore's forehead. Eeyore was so cute, he just stayed that way for as long as my son wanted to. I still get tears in my eyes thinking about it. I made a little scrabook for DS after we got home and laminated it. He would carry it around all day with him for months, so even though he seemed to not like the characters, he loved the memories!

I'm turning the computer off til evening, I've got to get something done!!!:thumbsup2

TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY!!! JUST A REMINDER:

DIS MEET

DECK TEN....PORT SIDE
Directly after the lifeboat drill !!

And remember that "Port" really doesn't sit next to the terminal....it's the side that will be facing the water. I always get them confused.

Jared and I will be wearing name tags from Disneyland....
Where on deck 10 . . . thanks!

Thanks so much for doing this. They sound wonderful :) I appreciate the hard work.

I finally got my first FE project done tonight. One down, one to go. I will never be ready to go :scared1:

Well, I got a few things done today but not as much as I should have.

The nametags weren't too hard once I got the template worked out. I was then able to merge in all the names and print them.

It's soooo close now I'm really having a hard time focusing on anything else. I just started a new position at work so I guess I better keep my head together for a few more days.

MIDSHIP ABOVE THE GOOFY POOL

Jeff and Virgil,

Wish we were cruising with you. I noticed that your cruise is sold out. I know you'll have a wonderful time, and Virgil, please drink a glass of red wine for me! ;)

I'm wondering if you'll do some sleuthing while on board and ask your servers if they know anything about the 2010 itineraries (we plan vacations early - ha). Our server was the one to tell us about the Med itinerary - and that was a full year and a half beforehand.

Also, Virgil, please let me know after you've posted your pictures. Your Med pictures were the best I've seen.

OK - off to get some work done - have been spending way too much time living vicariously on these boards lately. Hope you both have a wonderful trip.

Jodie
