06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Wow I decided to post the palo question on the main list as well, since we don't have a lot of activity..and my oh my most of them are very protective of their 'palo'... and some of them down right snarky. I will have to talk to hubby about brunch and see if he is willing to risk the treatment we went through before or not. Have a great evening... :grouphug:

Yes, you can book dinner at Palo, or Brunch, at the same time as you book your excursions online.

I think it's 105 days before the cruise if you have a suite, 90 days if you've cruised with DCL before, and ...and....nuts, I forgot how many days if it's your first DCL cruise! 75 maybe??

Ignore the snarky ones. I try so hard anymore to stay off the Main boards...it can get pretty nasty. Do what you feel is right for you guys.

Don't forget, with kids, you'll also have to make sure that they're in the Clubs, and that isn't always easy to do. Trust me, if you don't go to Palo it's not that big a deal.

Rebecca....I went on to your thread on the Main board and backed you up.....that's what we do around here...protect our own!! ;)
Check it out, I tell about my husband's experience with his peanut allergy.

   thank you soooo much..I actually had read your response on the main board first and had headed over here to say thank you... You are very kind. :goodvibes thank you again. Have a great Tuesday!

Rebecca, I hope you're getting some of your questions answered.

Less than 10 months til cruise time!! I can't wait to see the Magic on this side of the world again....especially after it's been in the Med for so long.

We have our NCL cruise in December, and that will kind of hold me over, and also the March Birthday Celebration at Disneyland.....but I'm not sure all that will be enough to control me until I step into our beautiful lobby again!

How cool to look forward to a cruise before "THE" cruise. :thumbsup2 Yes I am getting a ton of my questions answered... however I have a love/hate relationship going on with DU though. I transfered our reesies over to them because of the $150 per stateroom credit..and with two cabins that an extra $300 dollars, but had ZERO :confused3 idea that they were a email :surfweb: only group....uuuggg and to get them to answer in a timly manner is killing me.

Hopefully it will all work out...our last 3 cruises i've booked with priceline and have had WONDERFUL experiences :cloud9: and they main diffrence with them is that they have telephone staff available 24 hours a day. So not having a brick and mortor TA is what i'm used to, but this email only is not... I will have to think long and hard about it next time. Of course i've learned that next time we will book while still aboard and then transfer the resercations to get even more $$$ :goodvibes :goodvibes Hope you have a great Sunday. We are getting ready to head out to church. Will post more when I get back. big :grouphug:

Hi, Rebecca! I'm not cruising with y'all (had to cancel because of my son's wedding) but I'm still following the thread -- and planning to meet up with the Blabbermouths in DLR! :yay:

Have you been assigned a DU agent? If it truly bothers you to do everything via email, you can ask the agent to call you when you have specific issues to discuss. I know most of them will be happy to do that. :) (and if after giving your agent several chances, you're not happy, DU can assign another agent who will better serve your needs.)

I will be there... me and my family DH and DD (12) and DS(9). We are going to do a couple of days precruise at Disneyland. Hope to see you guys it's always great to meet a "disser"

YEA!! More DISers!! Welcome to our little group! Hopefully, we can all meet up at the sailaway party....we'll see about making plans for that as we go along!!

It's looking more and more as though it will only be me, my DH and my son, who will be almost 15 when we cruise. Our daughter is listed on the cruise right now, but she'll be 18 next May and has informed us that she doesn't think she wants to go. Ha. We'll see as it gets closer. I can't remember a time when I didn't want to travel....but she's always been more of a homebody.
Plus having a boyfriend at home doesn't help.........:sad2:

Rebecca....I've never used Dreams so I'm not much help there. I actually have almost always booked all our trips myself. I have a TA who is independant, and have used her for this one and the NCL cruise....she's really great and fights like crazy to get me what I want...but there's still an issue for me as far as being "in control". Lucky for me, she doesn't mind it (at least I don't think she does!) when I ask her a million questions a day.

I obviously don't get the kind of onboard credit from her that a big company like Dreams can offer.....but I'm happy with her and that's important to me.

Thanks for the welcome! I can not wait. This will be our second cruise. The last one was out of Florida and only 3 days. We are a disney family, since we are in Texas Disneyland has been my families favorite vacation spot since I was 3!! Now I have passed that on to my family. It has either been Disneyland or Disney World for the past 7 years! I decided to take the plunge and go for the 7 nighter. We will be driving from El Paso and of course going to Diseyland a couple of days before.

 oooo oooo (Doing my best Arnold Horshack Impersonation...) I'll go!! I don't exactly look 18 anymore but, I will gladly leave the boyfriend at home :lmao:
Just in case, it all seems too good to be true - I throw my clothes on the floor!!! ;)

PS - Like, Laura (Racheltori) I'm also a lurker on this thread - meeting up with Stacey and her family post cruise at DL...

I have a feeling that if Jordan (DD17) doesn't go, the older daughter (Megan 25) is going to want to. But the only way I'll let Jordan stay home is if Megan stays with her. Oh well.
Monica, you can come, but you get the fold out couch in the living room. :guilty:

Last night, I was going over the excursions we have planned for the NCL Christmas cruise with Jay and Jared...and I was soooo tempted to start to ask them what they want to do in the Mexican Riviera this time (we went the last time DCL was on the west coast)...but I didn't dare.
I thought I'd better let the husband get past the next cruise before moving on the the next-next one!! :rotfl:

But I think I have it pretty well figured out.....;)

First off A big Texas sized :welcome: I grew up in Fort worth, and my sister was born there. All of her family still lives there...her Daddy worked for Bell Helicopter for 40 years... he lives right out side of Fort Worth in North Richland Hills. :thumbsup2

You are going to love the 7 day cruise. You get to enjoy more quality time. And if you haven't done the Mexican Riveria before you will love it. :cloud9: I didn't know you guys were doing a precrusie stay over at DL? What hotel will you guys be staying in? We are trying to get a suite big enough for all of us... which is Me, DH, DD 11 DD 9 DS 7 and DS7 and DUncle who is there for kid round up control. :rotfl:

Hopefully we can all do dinner or something before hand? Or even do a get together on the ship? Can't wait till June :jumping1: Have a great Monday all. I need to go get dinner going. Big :grouphug:

:goodvibes Hello everyone, Hope you all are having a great Tuesday. I'm so :cheer2: excited I ordered a brand new Passporters, and it came in yesterday afternoon. My last one was from 2005. I cant wait to get started reading it. The old one didn't have any information regarding the West Coast and this one does... Now granted we have done this very same itinairy 5 other times, but am anxious to see what the book as to say and compare our experiences. ;) Hope your day goes well. Big :grouphug:

If you have any information about Candy Cane Inn or the City Pass, would you please pass it along? I've got to do some research and get things lined up. No way we're flying all the way out there for 3 days!!! Just need to figure out what else we want to do! Thanks and I hope you're all better soon. pixiedust:

Laura,

Do a search on the web for the City Pass. I don't remember what the website is. They have it for several cities, but you would want to pull up the Southern California City Pass. It includes 3 days at DL, 1 day at Universal, 1day at the SD Zoo and 1 day at Seaworld in San Diego. Last year, Universal had a promotion if you bought the city pass from them, they threw in an extra day at Universal.

Regarding the Candy Cane Inn, they also have a really nice website. They have a quaint little place. Nothing fancy, but really clean and nicely landscaped. They offer a pretty full continental breakfast out by the pool each morning . The rooms are large. It is by no means a DL style place, but it is nice. They are on the corner behind California Adventure. Walking distance, but they also offer a free shuttle that runs continuously. We used that the last time we were there because my mom was with us.

Hey, a fellow El Pasoan. We aren't going on the cruise because of our son's high school graduation (since school had to start so late this year), but hope to be meeting up with our very good friends Stacey, Laura, Monica, Kevin/Diana (??) and Virgil at DL after the cruise. I really wish we were cruising. We will also drive out to California. We are so used to having to spend $1,000+ for airline tickets to Florida, so that $1,000 will go a long ways on this trip for other stuff.

That reminds me, I'm going to need to pin Jay down as to whether he's staying for Disneyland after the cruise or not. I need to be making those plane reservations. I should be able to get the one-way tix back for about $70 max.
MUCH better than AZ to FL !!!!!

The Candy Cane is really nice. They keep it really clean, and it's cute. And yes, they have shuttles running all the time.
