06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Thanks for the reassurance about booking excursions tonight. It's comforting to hear that many of the excursions are still available. Let's just hope they are at 9:01 p.m. tonight!

Do any of you know what the policy is for spa reservation/cancellations? DH and I want to do a couples massage, but we are not sure if DD5 will love the kid's club enough to allow us to go. So, I was thinking that I could book the reservation for the later half of the cruise and if DD doesn't like the club, we can cancel. I figure we should have a good feel for it by day 2 or 3. Anyone have any experience canceling the spa?
TIA

Perfect!! Thanks so much.

Anyone waiting for their Passporter!! I ordered mine 03/15/2008.........

Yes, I am waiting on mine too. I ordered it on 1/24/08. I have been waiting very patiently, but it is getting hard. This is the first one I have ordered and I can not wait to see it. I downloaded the pdf and have looked through it, but I want to get my hands on the real deal.

It has been month's since I have been on here. I think it was in September. Things have settled down and I should be around more now. Looking forward to our cruise and getting to meet everyone. I introduced myself back when I first joined this board, but since it has been so long I will do it again.

My name is Lorie, I will turn 40 on the ship. Traveling with DH43, DD12, my parents, DB36, SIL39 and my two nieces 4 & 5. We will be flying out from TN the day before the cruise. I have not decided for sure where we are going to stay, but I am leaning towards the Crowne Plaza.

Only 75 days to go!!! :yay:

Lorie...did you get what you wanted?? I think you have 24 hours to cancel a spa ressie. I actually had cabana massages booked for a couple of us on one cruise and we decided the day before we didn't want to do it....no problem in canceling as I'm sure they had a waiting list a mile long to take our place.

Another L.O.R.I.E. !!! Don't see that spelling very often.

WELCOME!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Cool! I don't think I have ever met anyone who spells their name like I do!! I always tell people that my Mom was a creative speller. Well, I'm so glad to meet you!:yay:

My DD5 will be glad to know that you will be bringing along your nieces. Maybe we can introduce them?

We are staying at the Crown Plaza the night before. It seems like one of the closest and most convenient hotels to the port.

Well, welcome aboard!

Yes, we did get the excursions we wanted! Thanks for asking.:) We will be setting sail with all the other scallywags pirate: on the Pirate Ship in PV. That was the one we REALLY:hyper: wanted.
We had a harder time getting spa and Palo ressies. We could not get into Palo (wanted brunch or tea) so we will have to check when we get onboard. At the Spa, we wanted to book individual massages, but could only get a couples massage. So, lets just hope DD will like the Oceaneers Club and we can go. Thanks for the info on cancellations. We made the ressie for day 6 so we should know if we can keep it by day 3.

How is the weather for everyone? We are having typical Nor Cal weather - lovely sunny low 70's yesterday, overcast 60's today, possible rain tomorrow. You know, if you don't like the weather, just wait a day and it will change! I know, it could be worse! Have a wonderful day!

2 months.. 2 weeks and 1 day!!!!:cool1:

Does anyone know what the water package is that they sell on board. I ran across a mention of it on another thread.. I am wondering if it will be worth taking bottle waters and a case of Tecate on board??

Nice to meet you too. I agree that it is pretty cool. I have met one or two who spell it this way, but it is pretty rare. It is funny that we both ended up on the same cruise. :cool2:

That would be great.

Great surprise. I'm sure she will be thrilled. I have scanned through the board and seen some other people with 12 year olds. My DD will be glad to know that there will be several other kids her age on board. She was a little worried about that.

I can't remember how much they get for it. I won't be taking any on this trip....I WILL probably stop and get some Pepsi in Mazatlan, though.

For our Panama Canal cruise in August, we're taking bottled water, wine and sodas onboard with us, because we're driving to port, so it will be easier.
If there's a store near the port (we're at the Doubletree the night before) then I might go ahead and buy water and Pepsi to take onboard.

We are flying in... so if you find out about a store within walking distance, as we are staying at the Doubletree as well, let me know. Or maybe if we meet up I can hitch a ride to the store and in return buy your water.

Someone somewhere had a map of the area around the Doubletree, and there was a store....either liquor or convenience.....nearby. The Doubletree offers a free shuttle to places nearby, so probably that includes the store.
I won't have a car for the June cruise (this one).....I'm driving to the August Repo cruise.
So anyway...let me check and see where I had seen that info and I'll let you know.

There are a couple of markets within a few blocks of the Doubletree, but looking at the satellite view, it looks like quite a walk. The hotel does offer a free shuttle to anywhere within a 5 mile radius.
We will get to the hotel around noon on Saturday, the 7th....so I'll probably ask about taking the shuttle to go get Pepsi and water.

:sad2: Oh gosh for some reason I woke up in the middle of the night, and grabbed a note pad and a pen and started writing down all the things to "not forget". This is pretty early for me to start stressing... I mean we have been on 6 other cruises so I pretty much have the packing/shopping routine down but for some reason I am REALLY starting to stress over getting everything ready. I mean over stupid things like....2 weeks before we go get our twins hair shaved... Every 2 or 3 months we have them shaved with a size 1 on the clippers, and the first week or so they sorta look like little boys going through cancer treatments, and I don't want them to look like that in our boarding photo. And oh gosh do we have enough luggage, or do we need new luggage, or oh my I still haven't found a good kennel for our puppies... and so on and so on and so on.

Ok Breath Rebecca :rotfl: So is it just me :confused3 And if it is I wonder why it is :sad2: :goodvibes Oh good news I didn't tell you all but I got a Palo dinner and brunch reserved. We got brunch for the second day and dinner for night six. I was going to book a spa package, but they really don't have anything that looks good, unless I am missing something?? :rolleyes1 As for excursions we have been on this itinerary many, many times before and we typically just rent an open aired taxi for the day in both Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta. We go everywhere including lunch, flea markets and private tours all over. We HATE Cobo so we usually just stay on the ship and enjoy the empty and quietness. What is everyone else doing?

Well I am off to go grocery shopping, all the kids go back from Easter break tomorrow morning, and I need lunch stuff for them. So have a great Sunday all. big :grouphug:

:upsidedow Our latest dilemma has been if we should keep our current plans and go to :woohoo: Disney Land for the 4 days prior to the cruise or wait and go for 4 days after the cruise:confused3 . We have been planning this whole time to go before, but then on the main boards I read that a lot of folks are planning to go after....that way they don't have the big let down when the cruise is over. What is all of your thoughts on this:rolleyes: I checked the hotel and the price would be the exact same :thumbsup2 the only difference I would be thinking is June 4-8 most schools are not out for the summer yet and the 15-19 they would all be out and I am thinking Disney might be MUCH more :grouphug: :grouphug: crowded then?? Any advise? Have a great Sunday all. :cheer2:

Rebecca....we are right there with you, and the panic setting in. We also have a wedding the week before!

A whole bunch of us are going to Disneyland after the cruise. MY theory is that we will be better rested to enjoy both the cruise and Disneyland if we do it that way. We did WDW once and then cruised, and we were all so exhausted from running through the parks that I don't think we fully enjoyed the cruise. Just my .02 cents worth.

Hey everone, just checking boards again and trying to get caught up.

I got my Passporter book last week. I submitted a tip and got a free book! I haven't looked at book yet, but if you read and read the tip about bringing glow necklaces to use as night lights, that's my tip!

We will have a car so could help anyone if they needed a ride to get supplies. I just can't decide where we'll stay yet. I have ressies that I can cancel without penalty at both doubletree and CP. I'm leaning toward CP even though it's a little more than doubletree. It seems like it'd be handier to just leave the car at CP vs. drive over from doubletree and leave it. At this point I can't make any decisions. :confused3 I was still hoping to win a bid on priceline but not happening even at a bid of 105.00. I see CP has no ressies for my dates, so I would guess priceline will be out. On cruise critic board, someone mentioned they won pricleline for CP at 65.00 for the weekend after ours. I was so bummed! I paid 187.00. I checked the next weekend and there is availability on CP direct site but not for our weekend.

Well, off to get something done. Our spring break is just ending and I go back to work tomorrow. DH and I went to Mazatlan over spring break (my aunt and uncle live there) and my Mom stayed with the kids and dog at our house. Now I'm trying to get caught up, still doing laundry!

Any more thoughts on doing some sort of a meet once onboard?
