After watching Pirates 3, we went to Saratoga Springs to the Turf Club for dinner.
Two adults.
DDE discount.
No ADRs. Probably 7:30-ish p.m.
The place was pretty busy. We were seated right away and squeezed into a corner table. There is plenty of seating available on the patio area, and with a nice lagoon view. We were seated by a window, so also had a nice view.
Our server was very good. Getting food and drinks was a little on the slow side. But not horrible either. Certainly did not feel rushed through our meal.
Right away DH said we had to return there. He said there was just too much on the menu he wanted to try. I thought their selection very limited. But they do have a good selection to choose from.
We had a table close to us who had just been served their food as we were seated. Their food SMELLED SO GOOD.... And it was not because I was starved. (I had eaten popcorn at the movies. So was not all that hungry.) I almost asked them what they had. Darn it smelled good! Two of the people just had burgers. They were huge.
We both ordered Blackberry Lemonade ($3.99). We almost did not as we thought that a little $teep. But afterwards we both said we were glad we did because the beverages were so yummy.
DH ordered sirloin. It is served with an option of various toppings, for extra. He requested his medium with the crab meat and grain mustard sauce.
I ordered the crab cakes appetizer with a side of Turf Club potatoes.
A few slices of fresh sour dough type bread was provided on a platter. Later we were offered more and took the server up on that. Were given three, that were sliced much more thick than the first two. (Not sure why they initially don't serve much bread.
Maybe they were throwing too much of it out.)
The food was awhile in coming. But again, not terrible. And they were busy, with some large parties too. (Memorial Day weekend at a large DVC resort. So figures large parties are probably more the norm there.)
Our food LOOKED LUSCIOUS.
And it tasted just as good as it looked.
I was surprised to have three crab cakes. The serving of potatoes was as expected. And they were very good. DH was served potatoes with his steak. He said they were the cooked the same as the potatoes he ate at Olivia's a few weekends prior. (He REALLY likes Olivia's potatoes.)
I thought they were pretty good, but on the greasy side.
Crab cakes were very good. And I only ended up eating one, between the potatoes and bread (and previous popcorn). So I have a Very nice lunch waiting for me in the frig!
DH LOVED his steak. The steak looked like a really good cut of beef. And it was. But he really raved about the topping. He said it was right up there.
And after he finished eating the only thing left on his plate was a little remnants of the sauce. No bone. No gristle. No fat.
We watched Iron Chef last night and the secret ingredient was Cowboy Steak. (American version of Kobe Beef.) DH said the steak he had at Turf Club was of that caliber, when including the sauce.
I bet it is not too long before we return to the Surf Club.
The tables around us ordered dessert. Even the desserts took as long as getting a regular meal. The length of time to have the food delivered to the table is the only downside I could see. If someone was in a hurry, they might have stewed a little. But it could be it just being a busy holiday weekend too. We were not in a hurry. SO time was not an issue for us.
With the DDE discount, pre-tip, our total was $37.54.
