04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Amazing how hard it was to find thermal Underwear in Palm Springs, Ca. Need some help and direction in getting Pins for these cruises. Disappointed in Repo. Panama Canal.

:cheer2:
I will have to e-mail you so I don't bore everyone on the board. We got our baby on Saturday she is a real cutie and Selah our 3 year old is ignoring her hoping that Francine will just go away.
Almost ready for opening day we play St. Louis. I am going to see 3 games against them and one against the Dodgers before I head back here for a couple of weeks to get ready for the cruise.

Not to worry! There are other Giants fans, and dog lovers as well, who love your posts!! We are so jealous of you at opening day!! Congrats on the new puppy, so much love! Our Cruise Docs arrived today!!:cheer2:

Sort of late in the planning game, but trying to do it all at once. Any suggestions on where to stay May 3rd? We don't fly home till the 4th and want to see some Vancouver sights. Too many options! Anyone here anything good about any of the hotels in the area?

Cruise docs made it all the way to the Netherlands

Groetjes! what part of Netherlands are you from? I'm Canadian and I lived in Soerendonk, NB for one year as an exchange student. It was definitely a great experience for me and back then I learned enough Dutch to talk (my host mom and host grandmother did not speak English). now "mijn nederlands zijn niet goed!"

Officially booked!:banana: Now to book hotel for May 3rd in Vancouver and flight home on May 4th.

congratulations!

:rotfl2: I don't think you'll need thermal underwear. I find that Accuweather can predict pretty well 15 days out - (don't count on the "historical average", our historical average is 55 for this week, and it's snowing) You will be able to look ahead at the ports and see what to expect weather wise.

I hope those storms blow away soon - Winter storm warnings for No. Calif and Oregon right now, with more coming behind it.

I missed where you were coming for sure!:cheer2: So happy for you! There were several who posted their hotels on here - you can probably do a search in this thread. Also the Vancouver FAQ thread had some listed - I don't remember what people found.

Cruise documents arrived here in the Vancouver area.

I need to start thinking about this Fish Extender stuff again. I had some items ready several months ago, but there's more people on the list now than I expected. Also the bag we intended to use as our FE is apparently too wide accoridng to some of the threads I've read, so back to the drawing board on that too.

I hope they do a better job with the pin releases than they did on the LA repo. The lines were crazy and everyday people started lining up earlier. For the last pin some people were in line the night before! The store didn't open until 10am! I got shut out twice, I missed the last 2 pins but was able to trade for them before I got off the ship.

There were lots of people that wrote Disney to complain and were told that a new method would have to be established. I hope so.

Happy Thursday
Our cruise docs arrived in Williamsburg yesterday!
Robin did yours come????
Puppy is sleeping throught the night. 3 year old is beginning to play with her. These two long hair dachsunds running around together are very cute.
Only thing left is to have Francine completely potty trained. Hope that we accomplish soon enough so she does not forget while we are on the cruise and she is on vacation!:rotfl:

I am on the road and Lynn has not mentioned anything about documents yet. We did get a flyer telling us in Dec of 2011 we can book stuff for our Fantasy cruise,

This is sooo SAD to read! :sad2: Although Disney says they want to fix the system, they don't do it and make the same mistake over and over. We love to get special pins but not at the expense of valuable cruising time. Standing in line when you can do other activities could be avoided by allowing folks to pre order. Good grief. They've had 5 years to fix things. The first PC Westbound had folks sleeping on the floor in line all the way back to Parrot Cay.

The pin line started at the store door, wrapped around the area of the theatre, back down the hall past the store, around then entire atrium and back to the elevators! I know there are special pins for the Alaska cruise, I have seen the prototype but I haven't heard anything about the repo portion. I too like to get one from each port.

I felt bad for the cast members, people were yelling at them and there were a couple of outbursts between guest. They tried to keep everyone calm and informed but it was a losing battle.

Joining in the cruise document dance!!! :cool1:

According to our docs, the transfer from the Disneyland Hotel to the Wonder leaves at 12pm, which is great, since we wanted some more park time that morning. Paradise Pier pickup is 12:10 and GCH is 12:20. I know there is a bus organized by a cruiser that is leaving earlier, but we didn't want to leave early, so these times really work out great for us.

I see you're in WY, very cool! It's my dream to move out there somewhere, but then I had my son, so now I'm waiting until he's grown up and moved out. I was in Moran for about 6 months about 20 years ago, living and working at Signal Mountain Lodge, and fell in love with the area. I only had to move home because of an accident, long story that I won't bother with, but if it weren't for that, I'd still be out there. So I wait another 10 years. It's been 20, so another 10 is nothing! :cloud9:
We lived in Jacson almost 30 years, nice place to visit but not much fun to live there any more. We now live in Cheyenne, other side of the state on the plains, much nicer place to live!

Glad to hear that the puppies are getting along together now!

No docs here yet.:confused3

No documents in Michigan today. It sort of makes me wonder (no pun intended) if Disney sends out documents to the foreign guests first knowing the mail might take longer?
I'm not in any hurry as I'm sure we will have them before we go. Like all the rest of you, I just like getting mail from Mickey! ::MickeyMo

Nothing here in Ontario Canada yet. More often than not we get our Disney mail after we get home  When we did the Panama in January we never did get anything :confused3 This time my TA phoned Disney yesterday and was told that our repo documents had been printed and mailed on Monday to her and that our Alaska documents were being printed at the end of this week and being sent directly to us :confused3 Even the TA cannot figure out their system??
