04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

For any of you scrapbookers out there ... read on ...

I have a few Disney Vacation club books ... some with very good Disney & Disney related pics (prints) of resorts, theme parks, and SOME of DCL. If this is something you think you might be able to use (free of charge) :wizard: , please let me know ... as I would be happy to mail them to you prior to the cruise. I figured mailing them to you would be easier, than schlepping them in luggage.

Steven

WE ARE NEARING THE DEADLINE

REMINDER: We have arranged for deluxe motorcoach to transport us (and hoards of luggage) DIRECTLY to the San Pedro cruise port, on the morning of April 27th. We will NOT need to go back to the airport, merely to board another shuttle to the port. At only $15 per person, this motorcoach will save us time AND money!

The motorcoach will stop at a Disneyland hotel (to be determined on or about March 30, based upon our needs, etc). Most of us are either staying ON Disney property, or are a short walking distance away. If you are staying a bit further out, consider using your hotel shuttle to get you (and your luggage) to Disneyland (and hence, the motorcoach).

Most of us seem to want to get to the cruise terminal early :woohoo: ... in order to get early boarding on the ship (which means we get a LONGER CRUISE!). Accordingly, we tentatively estimate boarding the MOTORCOACH to begin at 7:45AM, with departure at 8:15AM (from the designated Disneyland hotel). In order to board upwards of 40 guests and their voluminous luggage, we would like to request that those taking the bus be in the designated meeting location (ie: designated hotel lobby), COMPLETE WITH ALL MEMBERS OF YOUR PARTY, AS WELL AS ALL OF YOUR LUGGAGE by 7:45AM. If 40 people show up at 8:15AM ... we will NOT be able to leave on time. :dance3:

The deadline for reserving your space on the motorcoach is March 30th.

AFTER March 30th, we will likely be able to add a few passengers on a *space available* basis ... at a cost of $20 per person (reserve on or before March 30th for just $15 per person).

You can reserve seats in one of three ways:

1) Send $15 per seat, via personal check to Donna Long, for receipt on or before March 30th (private message me for a mailing address).

2) Send $16 per seat, via PayPal, before March 30th. PayPal charges fees ... hence, the $16 vs $15 per seat. Send PM to me for my PayPal email address, which IS different than my main email address.

:rolleyes1 Regardless of payment method, PLEASE INCLUDE:
a) The number of people in your party
b) The name of the MAIN CONTACT person in your party along with Disboard ID
c) Current telephone number for MAIN CONTACT person (indicate day or night time contact)
d) Email address for MAIN CONTACT person
e) The name of EACH person in your party
f) The name of your California hotel (Grand Californian, Paradise Pier, Marriott, etc)
g) A cell phone number (to call on the morning of April 27th, in case of issues with the bus location).

3) Requests for reservations on or after April 1st can be made via option #1 or #2, at a cost of $20 per person. For those attempting to make reservations while we are in Disneyland (April 23rd, or thereafter), we will accept cash payments in person (exact change please).

If you need to reach us in Disneyland (beginning April 23rd), please contact Paradise Pier Hotel, (714) 999.0990, and ask to be connected to our room (Steven & Donna Long). Please leave your name, as well as hotel and cell phone numbers, and will will try to reach you ASAP.

Your seat will NOT be reserved until payment, and the aforementioned requested information has been received (and funds received).

Thank you,
Steven and Donna Long

THAT'S NORMAL FOR CATS, isn't it? :confused3

As megsablue said (about cats), they're not the brightest!

Steven

Don't know if my cat is smart or dumb...

when she can't find me (and only me) she goes into my closet and takes one of my slippers and walks around from room to room with it in her mouth crying. Trouble is most times I am calling her telling her where I am and to stop crying. She has even walked right past me crying looking for me....:thumbsup2 dumb

you be the judge...

She also will get into open suitcases and refuse to move. Blocking us from packing she thinks...smart? :confused3

SCRAPBOOKING CLASS ON THE REPO

Okay, sorry I have been MIA, but had a family crisis this last month with my mother, but she is out of hospital and has gone home, so I am trying to get my act together and get ready for the cruise. HA

Here is who I have PM's from that would like to scrapbook:

bonzie1-Georgie
COASTIEand MATE-Karen
disforever-Kathy
hamm1207-Sarah
Herbie'sgal-Erica
ibouncetoo-Jackie
LynnG-Lynn
Mickey&JoshNut-Elaine and Margaret
MJGirl-Mary Jane and Kirstyn
threebritts-Heather
Tigger1221-Jill
Tadsmommy-Karen, Tiffany, Ashley

That's 16 so far.

So, for those that have scrapbooked before, you know the drill, but for those that haven't, here's some info:

1. We usually have the scrapbook class on the 1st sea day at 11 a.m. However, it always ends up being a conflict with our Palo's brunch reservations, so I am inclined to move it to 1 p.m. on our first sea day, so we don't have any brunch issues.

2. I generally come up with idea and try to make it go around the theme of the cruise (i.e. this one would be west coast specific for repo and Alaska) and I generally charge a minimal fee to help me with a portion of the cost. Generally in the past I think it has been around $10 and if I get your scrapbook adhesive and bring it for you, add $5 to that for a total of $15. So I try to keep the cost under that.

So, you are asking--what are we doing. Well, next weekend is Scrapbook USA Expo here in Salt Lake, so that is where I go hunt for bargains and try to find whatever it is we are going to do. And then I spread things out throughout my house for the next month compiling everything and shipping it to California so it awaits my arrival.

That is kinda the rundown.

So the plan.......

1. First sea day 1 p.m. most likely in Animator's

2. If you want to join the fun, please PM me ASAP so I can add you to the list so I can kinda figure out how much to buy next weekend; and,

3. Deadline to sign up to participate will be April 10th.

4. That's it!

Can't wait to cruise. This has just been a hectic spring. Guess I need to make my plane reservations next, but my adult daughter has me on hold because she thinks she has a life separate from mine and I am waiting for her to hear on her summer job. Hopefully, we will have an answer this next week and then I can plan from there.

Sorry, could I ask a question? Okay here it is, even if I can't ask!:rotfl2:

Will we be making pages to use for photos from this trip, or bringing photos we want to scrap?

Ha ha ha! I have to explain that my cats are not the brightest about some stuff (like only one suitcase out versus the usual two or three), yet at times they drive me bonkers because they're smart (i.e., like figuring out how to open doors). Maybe part of their smartness is they play dumb? :lmao:

I'm just wondering what's going to happen once I bring out the other suitcases - hopefully nothing other than the usual climbing in. Even though they love the cat sitter, we'll definitely get "punished" with snuggles when we get back. ;) Also, one of our cats only likes myself (so I'll be double "punished") and the cat sitter - she tolerates my husband, but only because she has to. She was somewhat feral when we adopted her from the shelter, but they didn't tell us that... figured that out on our own :rolleyes1. The other cat loves everyone - they're all new friends to her.

Also, for those in the Lower Mainland who may be looking for the shoe organizers, I found one at Amy's Loonie Toonie Town for $6.99 so check your local dollar store! (Thanks Padalyn for the idea - I saw your note afterwards, but great minds think alike! ;))

/
My cat lays on the clothes thinking we won't move her to pack. A side note we left Animal Planet on TV when we left for Disney and came home to a different station. Maybe we should have put Disney Channel on.

Welcome Aboard! :cheer2: Your name looks like you do comedy?

Thanks for the warm welcome!
I mostly do improv comedy. My group does a weekly show of short form games like the stuff on Whose Line. I occasionally do standup but I prefer dealing with the unknown of improv. :)

As a side note, I'm having a hard time trying to find those over the door clear shoe organizers that people use for toiletries and such. I found one at Bed, Bath and Beyond, but it's $25! The regular Walmart by us didn't have any clear (just canvas) and I forgot to look at Target when we were in Seattle :headache:. Any Canadians have luck at Super Walmart or Superstore? Those are the two places I'm going to try this weekend... For the Americans who have the organizers, where did you get them? (I have half a day to shop in SoCal)

Have you tried dollar stores? I'm also in BC, and got our last one at the local Dollarama.

I think this is a great idea ... interesting ... can't imagine too many servers get a letter from guests, in ADVANCE of a sailing!
:cloud9:

what a neat idea!

Okay, I made my own FE today!

Congrats! :thumbsup2

Cool!:cool1: Who knows, you might get a chance to show off your improv talent in one of the lounge games or something!

Hi Linda! Glad to hear that your mom is back home and doing better. Just wanted you to know I have never done a scrapbook before!! I am really looking forward to your class because I don't even know where to start! I will be buying a Disney scrapbook and some pages, first thing on the ship. Can't wait to get started!! Thank you for doing this! Karen

Don't worry, I had never scrapbooked in my life until doing Linda's on the 2005 WB PC cruise. Her step-by-step instructions include pictures, so it really is just like "Scrapbooking for Dummies" (at least that's how I felt). It's wonderful! You can impress your family and friends back home, they'll think you've turned "crafty". :rotfl2:

Yes, we will be making pages to use our photos from this cruise, since it will be themed as such. Afterwards all you have to do is insert your photos.

Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, wrong cruise, or if you are no longer
going on one of these cruises. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

PLEASE REVIEW YOUR LISTING AND PM ME IF IT IS CORRECT!
A * before your listing means your have verified the names and you are good to go - you do not have to respond.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

GETTING YOUR LANYARDS AND NAME BADGES
If your name is on this list (except for those on the "not confirmed" list), I have a name badge and lanyard for you. Please make an effort to pick them up.

Name badges and lanyards will be available at the following locations:

In Los Angeles:
At the terminal - I will get there fairly early - you will have to play "Where's Ken" to find me. It probably won't be to difficult - just ask the people with the special lanyards and name badges.

On Deck 10 - Starboard side (that's the ride side of the ship) - overlooking the Goofy pool from 2:30 to 3:30pm - if it's raining, I will move to the Promenade Lounge.

If we can't connect in these places, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

I will be giving out two sets of lanyards and name badges in Los Angeles for those doing the B2B!

In Vancouver:
Because I'm on the Repo, I cannot guarantee that I will be in the terminal at Vancouver. Therefore, I will be in the Promenade Lounge from 2:30 to 3:30.

If we can't connect at that time, you will have to call me in room 6584 and make arrangements for pickup.

The finalized FE Repo roster is available at post 2199, which is also available from the link on Post #1 of this thread.

We have 59 staterooms participating!

Please PM me with any stateroom changes or emergency cancellations.

I plan to be in the Promenade lounge at 3pm on 4-27-11 with copies of the roster. If you change staterooms at port please come a touch early with your changes. I am going to print the roster on ORANGE paper to make it easier to find me.

This is now my shameless plug to stuff those little bottles of rum in my FE, so get packing! ;)
