04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

It is a special 1 hour opening at ToonTown that you need a special admission ticket for. ToonTown normally opens 1 hour after Disneyland opens. On certain days if you have a ticket you can get into ToonTown earlier. The tickets are included in resort packages and are not available for purchase.

hmm - I wonder if I can get one, since I am staying at DLR for a couple of days before the first cruise...but I am staying on DVC points...who would I call to ask?

It's FRIDAY!!!

I have only SEVEN, that's 1 -2 -3 -4 -5 -6 -7 weeks to plan and pack for these cruises! :scared1: It's exciting and overwhelming all rolled up into one! All I know is that I'm jumping in with everything I've got!!! :cheer2:

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE! :wizard:

OMG...that means I have less than 6 weeks...ok - quick check list check...

way to get to airport - check
plane confirmation of eticket - check
DLR ressy - check
cruise docs - ???!!!?!?!?!?!?! WHERE ARE THEY??????
not quite priceless.....

Just called Cruiseline Formalware for Joe to see if they would let us get the combo B/W package from April 27th - May 10th, dropping off the jackets in Vancouver on the 10th instead of the 3rd... same stateroom, etc.

Since this is considered 2 cruises with 2 separate itineraries... so far Cruiseline Formals says "no"... 2 separate packages at $120 each. :sad2:

BUT, it it was a Panama Canal cruise with just one 14 day itinerary it would be 1 package at $120. :confused3

I explained it is just one long cruise for us... :goodvibes same room and docking in the same port for the drop off of their garments.

A supervisor has been summoned into the mix and I will soon be called back with the reqults of my inquiry. I will let you know the news. :thumbsup2

Hey... 3 out of 4 is really quite good! :rotfl2:

Good luck with the cruise docs!!!

P.S. I would call DL planning to inquire about the tickets. DVC is great, but sometimes we get left out of package perks.

Okay, so I am not the only one having a small panic attack.......This cruise has snuck up on me! We are getting together this weekend to iron out final details....now, what to wear?

If it's going to be $240 for the two cruises, you could probably go to a tux rental place and buy a slightly used tux for that price. Alex

What to wear this weekend??? or What to wear for the cruise??? :rotfl2:

Just kidding! I'd just worry about what to wear for the weekend!!!

The Toontown tickets are only available if you book a package. Room only doesn't qualify. The packages that include them are with the WDW/DL Travel Company and AAA Travel. We were there after the PC cruise and stayed at the DLH, I asked when we checked in if they made exceptions and they told me no but to try at the travel company desk in the park. I didn't have any luck.

I think because it is now March, so the cruise is NEXT MONTH, that it seems so much closer to me than it did just a week ago, lol. Now, all of a sudden, I'm in a dither about what to wear and should I get my daughter a wetsuit so she won't freeze waiting for the Mickey slide? So much to do! What a thing to be busy for though, huh?

THEY consider it two cruises ... while we all consider it ONE cruise! You have ONE itinerary ... 13 days long. I guess they don't understand the concept, or have not made plans for such an event. Did you check with DCL to ask about pricing?

I've NEVER rented a tux. I purchased a brand new, double breasted tuxedo (with pants) for $99 at K&G Mens. I also purchased a few shirts (with tie & cummerbund) for under $20/set, and a few vests for about the same price as well.

(alterations were not included). Why not look around ... you might be surprised at some of the low prices!

a couple of questions:

have cruise docs gone out? I havent gotten mine yet :confused3

next for those going on just the repo and are coming back to the Los Angeles area, whats a good airfare price I should be shooting for?

as you can tell, Im super late in the planning process. I havent even thought about excursions yet :scared1:

Hello! I don't think they'll send docs - although if you booked a DL pre-cruise stay with your cruise you will probably get luggage tags:confused3 They are doing all the docs online - at least that's how it looks to me - our last cruise with RCCL was like that.

You will need to go to the planning section of the cruise website, and do the online check in. Print and sign the pages it tells you to and bring those to the port.

As for airfare, I'm not sure - although we are going to an out of the way small town in Oregon, so it may be comparable price-wise. I think you'll see about $200 one way from Vancouver to LA. Try Kayak or airfarewatchdog.com. They track flights for you - also Bing has a good search engine. I have found the best prices at cheap-o air.com. Good Luck!

I don't know how we only have 6 weeks left! I'm suddenly realizing I'm not really preparing for this cruise - no magnets made, no door signs, need an FE - have my gifts planned but need to get things - Time to get busy!

I did try on my pirate wench dress and it is a little snug, so DH and I may be shopping for POC T-shirts at DTD. We do have pirate head Mickey and Goofy ears and POC medallions so I guess that is something!

I think lately cruise docs have been going out about 45 days before the cruise. So in another week or so we might start seeing them.

Airfare depends on what airport you are flying out of. I doubt you'll find anything cheaper than $150 plus tax for a nonstop from Vancouver to LAX. Alaska Airlines has several $89 fares from Seattle to LAX, but on 5/3 and 5/4 they have a few $89 fares from Bellingham to LAX via Seattle. So if you are arranging your own transportation, a shuttle to Bellingham then Horizon and Alaska are the cheapest way to go.

I need to get on the ball as well. I don't have a rental car or hotel for our two nights in the LA area yet!

Cruise docs do come in the mail, however, you ca print the contract page from the website, you wll need that at the port.

Airfare, I bought mine a couple of months ago, I think I used Travelocity, I wanted to see the range of flights and prices, I am flying USAir from Vancouver to PHX for about 230 with taxes, just have to pay the luggage fee at the airport, unless I can cram everythig into a roll aboard, which I doubt.

Hi All!! :yay:

I had so much to do that I forced myself to stay away in February. :guilty: :sad2:

Geesh, I take a month off for "real life" ... now have two working teens (total of three part-time jobs), two new driver licenses, one early college acceptance, and one scholarship (wheew!!) ... and I am a cajillion pages behind and missing all the fun stuff!!

Please count us in for "everything":
TADsMommy (2602): Tiffany, Ashley (16), David (15)
TADsDaddy (2604): Dave & Karen

Now I need to catch up on the fun posts I have been missing!! popcorn::

thank you for all the responses. Its good to know I havent missed the cruise docs.

As for transportation back to the LA area, a couple of days ago I saw a $160 nonstop flight from vancouver to lax and didnt jump on it. Now its close to $200 :headache: Thanks Trimix for the good tip on Bellingham airport. I didnt know about it, and it seems like a more reasonable distance to travel than going all the way to seattle.

52 days out! The FE Repo Roster is updated and available at post 2199 or by using the link on post #1 to this thread. A couple of GTY groups got their rooms. Please PM me ASAP if you know of any further additions or deletions.

I did some more FE shopping today. Fun Fun! :thumbsup2

I have a question about B2B when we get to Vancouver. Since we will be on the ship before the new guests are, will we able to go to Wave Bands and check for Palo availablity any earlier? If not what time do they usually have someone there?

This who have been on B2B's before have reported the debarkation / embarkation process of B2B'ers can, and does change (depending on the itinerary, etc). Some have been able to reboard within a fairly short time frame, while others get very little (if any) advance time on the ship, prior to normal embarkation.

I am guessing, but do not believe DCL will have Wave Bands opened just for B2B'ers ... and will likely only have it manned beginning with the embarkation of the first passengers. Since this is an inaugural sailing, the boarding time is subject to hiccups. That being said, I would think the "ballpark" time for Vancouver embarkation would be best answered by the cast members who are assisting the B2B'ers off and on the ship (assuming you are opting to reboard the ship ASAP).
