Phew, just read through the thread (yes, all 81 pages of it) - I haven't felt great all day, so I've been on the couch - the thread's kept me out of trouble
We just (as in 6am this morning) booked the Repo cruise through DVC - apparently we snagged the last Category 5 or lower (we were shooting for a Cat 5, but ended up with Cat 9 GTY). Originally we were booked on the Dream for May 1st, but a bunch of stuff changed for us, so we decided that this would be better (and longer!). We live in downtown Vancouver, so being able to walk home (depending on how much stuff I buy!) from the cruise terminal was a big plus for us when we were considering switchingThis is our first cruise ever - let alone a Disney cruise!
We're also staying at VGC for two nights before the trip, which is very sentimental to us - not only is VGC our DVC home, but we'll be checking in on our 7 year anniversary (and we celebrated our honeymoon at GCH) too. Maybe we'll get some pixie dust... but even if we don't I'm sure it will be a magical experience anyways!![]()
We are spending a couple of days at Disneyland (probably a hotel on S Harbor) before the cruise.
Can anyone give me the rough cost of a taxi between Disneyland and San Pedro Port?
I have asked Disney about their shuttle but they "recommend" any one staying of site to pick up the shuttle at LAX. I dont really want to go all the way back to the airport - I could be at the port in the same time.
Anyone interested in chartering a coach from Disneyland to the cruise port? I found a site that charters tour coaches. I have sent them an email to get an idea on cost.
Hi MJ!
We booked this cruise when we did the Baltic....should be fun. will be great to see you again!
We are just renting a car and driving south. We are only staying one night near the port before the cruise since we go to DL a few times a year. Plus that is Easter week and it will be crazy there.
Then we are staying several days in Canada and Washington before flying home after the cruise.
Wish we could do Alaska but not this time....
Also booked the Dream for New Years, a double dip....
Are things good? The Baltic was wonderful and fun. Lots of people from the Med cruise on it. It was very very hot though but such a fun time even with the heat.
Ken - Scott has been following a discussion on this topic - probably on the DVC boards. He may answer you also! If this is going to be the case, I guess we will just have to be sure to book our cruises the day they open!
