04/22/07 April 22nd Wonder

Heya, Cat! Thanks!

I vote for you NOT to use the magnetic sheets... *argh* I'm on my 3rd try today to get this door thing put together. I print it out on regular paper, then mess up getting it attached to the magnetic sheet. Maybe this time I'll wise up and only attach it on the corners, and leave the backing on everywhere else! :rotfl: I might also make some t-shirts with this design. Depends on how many white t-shirts I feel like sacrificing today. :rotfl2:

Bright sunshine here in Denver. 60-something degrees. Kiddo went off to school in Nemo swim trunks, but I made Daddy take a pair of jeans, just in case. She was pretty garish, with her long sleeve red shirt and Nemo-patterns on her boy shorts. Right now she's into all things "Nemo." Pretty funny for a kid who, since birth, has been a little fashionista. All things had to match or she spit up on them or took them off. Seriously. Thankfully, she seems to be emerging from her "pink" period. I was pretty scared. ;)

Yeah, well, that's it from this side of the Mississippi. Have a great day!

Brandie

*argh* Still haven't gotten up the gumption to pack... *argh* Anybody else going to be throwing things in a bag and frantically checking things on a spreadsheet tonight or tomorrow?

Brandie

We are actually half-way packed. I plan on finishing up clothes (most of them) tonight and then totally finishing with toiletries Saturday morning before we catch our noon flight.

So--I totally understand!

I bought some of those space saver / roll the air out of your clothing so you get more room to pack kind of bags. Working like a gem on my DD's stuff.

Now box arrived from my MIL and FIL. There's a ... a... a... MINI CAPTAIN JACK COSTUME IN IT!!! DH isn't home yet and i'm chomping at the bit to see his reaction when I put it on DD! She's going to be 50/50 on this costume... especially with the... the ... the WIG!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha hapirate:
WHERE IS HE!?!?!?!

Happy packing! Allergies are getting to me so I'm going to take it easy the next few days and TRY TRY TRY to "r-e-l-a-x!" Stress is not part of the vocabulary from this point forward! (remind me I said that b/c I know I'll be back on DIS BOARDS late late tonight freaking out that I'm only 20% packed if that and my allergies are keeping me up, blah blah blah!):scared1:

:hourglass tick tick tick....

So,

In addition to stressing about Palo, now Lisa is stressing a bit about what to wear in the main dining rooms. As I said, we are not really dressy people. We can both dress very casually for work. Lisa wants to know if Jeans would be okay for at least Parrot Cay and Animators Palatte. She has nice hawaiian shirts to wear with nice jeans.

What do you all think?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I'm going to wear skirts/dresses/skorts in the dinner rooms, but that's because I'm treating them like dates... I have heard that you need to dress up a little more than jeans, but I've also heard to just relax and be on vacation, too. If Lisa is worried about dressing right, maybe throw in a couple pair of nice slacks or skirts?

Here's the DCL recommended packing list, which does unfortunately agree that nighttime attire is slacks, not jeans: http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/myCruise/landing?name=WhatToPackDetailPage

I have some nice black capris I'm wearing. I am bring a nice dress for whichever night is pegged "semi formal" . Which night is that?

Pirate night attire is still being worked on! HUBBY saw DD in CAPTAIN JACK costume last night! It was so much fun... she even gave us an "arrrgh!" like a pirate!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Didn't know she had it in her to be such an actress!!! :rotfl:

Kept DD home from school today... we've been up with allergies all night. THANK GOODNESS FOR TODAY's ALLERGY MEDICINES!!! I got really worried. We are not letting allergies keep us away from this trip!!! no no no no!

I've packed some khaki capris along with a black skirt and a nice black dress for Palo/Semi-formal night. I never get to dress up with a 15 month old (you run the risk of snot all over your clothes!).

I understand about the allergy issue. I've taken my son to the doctor twice now (the last time on Tuesday) because of a runny nose. He has assured me that it is allergies but this time he gave me some prescription decongestant/antihistimine/cough medicine just to help with the runny nose. I'm so paranoid because my husband and I both need this vacation. I agree--thank goodness for the new allergy medicines.

Here's a recent set of Navigators to pore over: http://www.disneycruiser.info/w070325/w4day0.htm which say dress-up night is Monday.

Movies for the cruise: Wild Hogs, Meet the Robinsons, Bridge to Terebitha, Prestige, Deja Vu, the Guardian, Santa Clause, Cars, Pirates II, Primeval

Fiona got refills for all her prescriptions, so she's taking Claritin syrup right now. Which reminds me, I need to run to Wal-greens and get her a flavored syrup. She says the one she has tastes yucky.

So,

We are heading out. The bags are packed and all the clothes that we have packed will have to do! No more stressing. I am sure that we will be fine, but being a bit obsessive and wanting to make a good impression that stress began to creep in.

I am so looking forward to meeting everyone and having a wonderful vacation.

See you all on Sunday!

Linda ( and Lisa)

Linda and Lisa,

Have a safe trip and enjoy your dinner with Paula! See you guys on the boat!

LINDA AND LISA SAFE & FUN TRIP! See you Sunday!

Brandie - Flavored syrup with Claritin? My DD would love it if I could do that for her!!! Never knew of this!!!! I'm from old school mothering where "ya get what ya get" when it comes to OTC meds & flavors! Guess since we suffered when we were young..... but heck if I can avoid the tantrums over taking a teaspoon of "YUCKY STUFF" by all means I'm all for it!!! (My DD once said to me "But mama, Mary Poppins said a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down!" as she went to grab the sugar bowl from the kitchen counter!!! OH HOW MUCH DISNEY INFULENCES OUR LIVES!!!!! LOVE IT!)

Good to know others are dealing with allergies!

Fruit and grape flavored Claritin syrup. Available over the counter at drug stores. Wal-greens has it for $11. Seems to be working for Fiona, and she normally takes Zyrtec.

And I still need to pack... :scared:

*wave* Brandie

Just finished packing! I'll throw the clothes from the closet in our hanging bag in the morning--yeah! Currently charging camera batteries and wishing that DH would come home so I can ask him if he wants to take the tripod. I also need him to watch DS so that I can go get a Mystic Tan. I've heard that fat looks better tanned than it does white. We will see, I guess.

I've also already set aside our prescription medication for our flights. I'm hoping that TSA doesn't make a big deal of benedryl (they shouldn't as I've checked their website about what I can and cannot bring with a toddler)--I'm planning on giving some to DS so that he will sleep on our 3 hour flight.

Hi there! Me, my DH and 13 month old son will be on the cruise. We are so excited. Our room number is 7078. Let me know if you all want to chat about the trip. - Carolyn:cool1:

We've got a 14 month old (soon to be 15 months on the 26th) as well. We will be in 7500.

So looking forward to leaving town tomorrow. I can't wait to see Mickey and his boat. I just hope I don't cry at the sail away party when the blow the horn.
