03/08/09 4-night Disney Wonder!!!!

Welcome! It is nice to see some more people joining our cruise.

Honestly I would LOVE to go on the Disney Cruise with just DH and myself. So not having kids won't take any fun away at all. In fact, you can enjoy the adult areas all the more.

This time (our 9th Disney cruise) our twins will be 15 1/2, so we are planning to give them more freedom and we are going to try to enjoy some of the adult areas more (I would like to see what it is like to go to the adult beach at CC---although I am not sure we will stay there. I think I will miss the family beach, so we will probably only go there for a short time--we will see).

On nice adult activity is the brunch at Palo. We did this once and really enjoyed it. So you may want to consider that. We also like having lunch at Triton's....AND....we find that there is so much food around that we prefer to try to eat light during the day so we can enjoy our evening meal more, so we won't be doing the brunch again. But I am glad we did it once.

I am hoping for nice warm weather. Right now we have 9 degrees outside and it is suppose to be dropping over night. Thinking of Castaway Cay is getting me through my days! :beach:

I agree with WestJones that it is so nice to have new people on board our Mar 8th cruise! Welcome and get ready for a great cruise!
DisneyCP08, you will have a great time even with just the two of you! My husband and I just went on our first ever cruise on the Wonder on Nov 2, 2008 and we had a blast! We have commented many times how the only time we really noticed how many children were onboard was during the bus rides to and from WDW and airport!:rotfl2: Disney has the ship set up so well with the adult areas and have many activities for adults that we had a great trip! We loved the Couples Villa at the spa and we almost cancelled it due to the cost, but we were sooooo glad we didn't. Palo was not the best experience, but that is another story:sad2: adn the Adult beach at Castaway Cay was unbelievable!!!!:yay: We snorkled at the family beach and then headed over to the adult beach and it was so relaxing and quiet and we had no trouble getting hammocks for the two of us and the buffet there was wonderful.
We are heading back this time with our 2 children and can't wait to see their faces as we go over the bridge at the port and they see the Wonder for the first time!:woohoo: So, just look forward to a great time and enjoy yourselves!!

What is a fish extender? I heard about this before, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Its 12 degrees outside and I all I keep thinking about is this cruise. We can't wait! We have been looking at all the shore excursions in Nassau, but I think we decided to explore on our own. Has anyone else done this before?

I just got into it last Oct 08 when our cruise buddies explained how it worked, so when we sailed Dec 08 we participated and had a blast. Help me out and correct me if I am wrong or say something that does not sound right, but you just need people to join, then you hang either the "Fish Extender" (to put the goodies in) outside your door, everybody gets assigned a day and you give out small gifts. Sorta like a secret Micky but it is ok to let people know who gave what. I have given note pads, stickers, calendars, small bottles of booze for the guys and even baby appropriate things. Nothing expensive, it just becomes a treat to return to your cabin and find something in your "Fish Extender". You can either make a "Fish Extender" if you are talented (I am not) or figure something else. I used two pot holders that I sewed together and decorated with Mickey Stickers. If you go to Disney.com and search Fish Extenders they have one that is really cute.

If you get the chance go back to the Oct 3, 08 I believe cruise and you can see pictures of what one lady received during her time on the Magic.

I hope this helps. I know that I am not an expert on this but I also know we had fun even on our last 4 day cruise in Jan 09.

Teri

Hi Everyone,

Count us in for this Wonder cruise. We had to last minute cancel a WDW trip back in December to deal with family medical issues and so decided to last minute (for us anyway) book this trip. It will be Bob (DH) and Dale (DW) and we're looking for a relaxing trip, no excursions.

We'll have a fish extender as it has become tradition for us and a simple way to find the cabin. :thumbsup2

Can't wait as it is snowing again :confused3 :confused3 , seems like every other day. Wouldn't be bad if one didn't have to go to work and could really enjoy it.

See you all soon,

Bob & Dale :wave2:

:) I'm new to the DIS boards and have spent hours just reading everything. I booked my March 8-12th cruise a few days ago. It will be me (amanda) and my boyfriend(milton) of almost 5 years first cruise ever. We are both 21 almost 22. Would love to meet new people. I work at WDW part time, and a full time student at SCC to get my paralegal degree. We are very excited about the cruise. I'm interested in learning more about the FE and would love to do them on this cruise if we can get enough people. :) Anyone on this cruise around our age? Also are we allowed to bring our own alcohol? How do people bring it if it's not allowed (i know some people do).:thumbsup2

Hey, my name is Katie. I am going with my boyfriend of 4 years. We worked as CP's last spring. The original plan was suppose to be a group of us from the Spring College Program, but everyone kind of backed out at the last minute. We are both twenty ( a little young i know), we are missing the big 21 by 2 months. This is our first cruise and we are excited. Where do you work at?:beach: :earsboy:

No prob about being 20 wasn't long I was just 20. Are you going to do the Fish Extender thing? I am hoping a few people on this cruise will do it I haven't made one yet I'm waiting to see how many people will do it first. Where do you live at?

Where did you work during your CP program?

anyone else interested in the FE on this cruise? This will be my boyfriend and I first cruise and would love to do the FE I've got mine layer out but haven't bought the fabric yet. Also planning on door decorations. Please let me know this sounds like great fun for everyone.

Where did you work during your CP program?

I worked at CRT in the castle as a hostess. I was planning on extending and auditioned for character performer. I got the part but I had to leave the week before training, because of a family emergency. I was thinking of doing the alumni program, but found out that I wouldn't be able to go back to entertainment.

We are not sure what room we are in either, but Im sure we could meet up and hang out sometime.

Also we definately in for the fish extender. From what I've seen on other forums it looks like fun. Count us in:mickeybar :mickeyjum

Does CP mean College Program? I would love to know more about that. My DD15 wants to do this.

That's wonderful! I will let me DD know, she may have some questions for you about it. She is very excited about the idea of doing it, I just hope she is able to get in when the time comes (she is just a Freshman in high school now, so we have a few years).

I'd love to participate in a Fish Extender event! I know my boys would think it's great! I've seen the decorated doors...are they metal? Is it all magnets? I know I can get sheet magnets at the craft stores and make something for our door, plus I think that would make it easier to find our room, especially for the kids!

Yes, as far as I have read in different threads is that all the doors are magnetic so you can print anything on magnetic sheets or use magnetic tape to put things up there are many samples in a few threads that give great ideas. I'm looking forward to the Fish Extender event also hope fully enough peope will join in.:flower3:

We'll be doing a fish extender!

For those planning on door decorations - magnets only please - yes, the doors are metal. DCL has had problems in the past with folks using tape, glue, etc., needless to say it does a real job on the paint!!

Yes, I bought magnetic tape to put the back on the signs, etc that I made. I'm working on my FE right now so count me in. I'm not sure how to organize it hope someone going on this cruise is an expert!!! Also I know there are a few kids that will participate what are the age groups so we can get age appropriate stuff. Thanks!!!!:thumbsup2

What are magnet sheets? are they actual sheets that I could use to print a picture on? Also with the fish extenders do we give out things each night, or are we assigned nights? I am going to the craft store today to get stuff to make our fish extender and I am excited. :cheer2:

Yes the magnetic sheets can be put into a printer and u can print pictures or signs on them. Also craft stores sell the magnetic tape. I'm not sure how the FE thing works about having assigned nights or having a different thing for each night. Will someone post here what and how we are going to do the exchange. Thanks

Amanda
