03/01/2008 Eastern!!

feiste: you could always do the timeshare thing where they make you listen to 90 minutes of nonsense and let you stay free in the hotel AND give you free park tickets....

micday:
it is gone, gone, gone.....

brenda:
I found on some board (I wrote the tip in my notebook) that they recommend tipping $2 for large suitcases and $1 for small ones. Also, $1 for one room service meal, $2 for multiple meals ordered at the same time.

somewhere on some board I thought I saw DW tickets for two parks in one day for the one park price. I would like to find that myself at we will be at MK the day before the cruise.

job for the day:
I just tried on my formal outfit to see which shoes made me tall enough to wear it -- packed the shoes. Put all formal outfits (except Craig's because he has one more court appearance in it) in the garment bag. Also - put magnetic tape on back of door signs. Use your Michael's coupons for 40% off the 1"x10' magnetic tape and it's only $3. and change.....

Ohhhh,

I LOVE planning for Disney and I'm NOT a newbie, been there so many times lost count !!

I want to help !! MK is my Favorite and AK is DD's favorite, Dh his would be sleeping in !!

What do you want to know or how can I help you ??

We might do a park or two too. I've got tickets but don't know if any have any days on them.

We are staying, you know where and you can spend some time at the pool, so your fish, I mean DD's can swim !!

I have the Entertainment Book for the Orlando area, bunch of coupons.

Get the Orlando magic card on-line you never know you might use it !!

I'm from Tampa, do you like coasters, Bush Gardens might work unless you have your heart set on Disney. Or for the fish, adventure island would be awsome !! My family goes there a ton !!

Let me know if I can help.

Michelle

Okay, so a list of questions from your questions :goodvibes

What is the Magic on line card?

What do you mean when you say you have tickets, but don't know if you have any days on them?

Although I think that we would enjoy Bush Gardens or Sea World, I think since I will be solo parenting it I will prefer to go someplace we have already been. If I buy a one day ticket what is the cost difference between a regular ticket and one that will let me into multiple parks?

What is the price difference between one and two day tickets? Is there anyway to get them at a better price than at the gate?

We may take you up on the swim one of the days. We can pm cell numbers to get in contact when we are there.

Do you know of any good rental car deals?

Thanks!!!

If you remember where you saw that it would be great!!

If I am traveling by myself would they let me do the time share tour w/o DH? Would the kids be able to take the tour with me?

Are you a member of "Refunds Make Cents" - Great site with tons of good coupon/refund info.

Thanks,
Jennifer

Timeshares:
Some require both folks to be there. But if you're there by yourself -- I guess you could tell them you are currently single parenting....We insist that our kids go on the tour with us -- usually that makes the person want to cut it short!

I do ebates -- it's wonderful.

I do remember the last place I saw it and the place before -- but it may have slipped into a bag or out of the car or into the trash or recycling or whatever -- it's probably just a message from beyond to take a chill pill.

you know -- maybe you could find a disney timeshare package?

We had to purchase one day tickets to get the Free Dining package (had season passes) so I can not remeber if I used these tickets toward a season pass or not ?

I did this by myself last March and it was weird because I've always had someone with me, DH or mom but we did great but I was very careful too

Let me know if I can help.

Hope this helps, I'm looking for my rental codes.

Jen- If you are going to hit one of the parks, for sure go to the one with the extended hours the day you are there, the one with the parade and the one with the fireworks or light show..... I do not commit those to my memory but if you hit the other threads on the boards, these guys know EVERYTHING. They so helped me plan for our WDW trip. They know WDW like I know DCL..... Post a thread on one of the WDW threads...

That sucks about your SIL.... Was really thinking it was going to be a false worry. Did Mike place velcro on the back of the door signs....:rotfl: :rotfl:

Help, Brenda is making "The List":scared1: and she wants me and the girls to list the things we want to pack. I never decide:confused3 what I'm taking until the night before we leave. This is like actually doing your Christmas shopping before Christmas Eve. I just can't do this. I blame you Rani.:lmao:

All this talk about packing got me to wondering how many pairs of shoes you girls take? Between the 3 of my girls, I think we need a suitcase just for shoes.

Ron

Boys/Dads
dress shoes, crocs/sandals, sneakers

Girls
dress shoes (1+), crocs/sandals, sneakers or walking shoes

Moms
dressy shoes, dress casual shoes, crocs (in my case, two), flip flops, walking shoes ( I only do sneakers at the gym - which I will NOT be attending on board.)

That's just my take on it.

Rani

ps - lists are good! "I make lists in my sleep." Joanne from Rent

I rather meet in the PARK tonight if possible. How about 8PM Central in the Park? BJ will bring the sweaters and Jen can bring the smores, you the rum and Mike the tent door signs....:rotfl: Thumbs up if you are okay with that.

:thumbsup2 I'm up for going parking with you ladies tonight :thumbsup2

So now I need help and advice from all those who have offered and even those who didn't. Send me your secret codes, discount ideas, and cheap, fun Orlando entertainment ideas.

Brenda,

Sadly, though I know I have offered in the past to help with planning future trips to WDW, my knowledge does not extend beyond the WDW property line. Our last six times down there, we never left WDW once. It sounds like you are seeking non-WDW advice? If so, hopefully Micday can help (I believe she said she used to live near there or visited often).

I would also like to know the prefered method for purchasing Disney Tickets. Before or at the gate. Price comparison of 1 day vs 2 if I'm not staying on property, price difference between a single park ticket and one that will let me do multiple parks in a single day...

Okay, you are looking at WDW stuff as an option. I'l let you knaow what I think I know, and Micday can correct me where needed.

I have never purchased tickets separately from a package, but I recall from information I read about a year ago that it is cheaper to purchase tickets in advance than at the gate. They do charge more for the ability to Park-hop (never made sense to me, as you spend about the same amount of total time in the parks, and hopping can reduce congestion, but I'm sure they have reasons for what they do). The primary pros of park hopping are that you can do things at more than one park (duh) and that you can leave one that is too crowded. The primary cons of park hopping are that the tickets cost more (double duh) and that the time it takes to hop can use up valuable park time. If you've been there recently, then I would suggets single-park tickets and save the money. How to choose which park(s)? The things to consider would be (1) if you have a favorite, (2) each park's hours, (3) if there is a new attraction that wasn't there last time, or (4) is there an attraction that your kids weren't old enough to ride, that was out of service, or that you otherwise missed last time.

We can talk more during our walk in the Park tonight, or afterward.

Hi everyone.:goodvibes
I have been trying to catch up on all the posts and learn everyone's names before I jumped on. But I have come to realize that your quest to reach 150 pages and my desire to digest all of your names and quirks are at a point where I cannot win!

I apologize if I repeat something- although I do know how to pronounce Rani- HA!:rotfl:

Anyway, Feiste, have you thought about that other park in Orlando, you know, the one you can only whisper about in the land of Mouse? My boys (ages 7 and 9) love Univesal (although not as much as Disney) and it is a lot of fun. They advertise a ticket that is good for 7 consecutive days for the price of one day at Disney.

Also, near Universal is the world's largest McD- they even have "goumet" foods such as pasta and paninis, plus a huge arcade.

I must say, I am intimidated by some of your um, how should I put it, enthusiastic organizational skills. I am lucky if I am packed the day before we leave.

Amanda

PS: I have never used a smiley before, but I was afraid you all would find me boring without them!

AS I am getting ready to start putting my stuff in the suitcases -- I want to make sure that restaurant attire which states 'no tank tops' does not require to sleeveless women's or girls' tops -- am i correct?
