03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Help, Brenda is making "The List":scared1: and she wants me and the girls to list the things we want to pack. I never decide:confused3 what I'm taking until the night before we leave. This is like actually doing your Christmas shopping before Christmas Eve. I just can't do this. I blame you Rani.:lmao:

All this talk about packing got me to wondering how many pairs of shoes you girls take? Between the 3 of my girls, I think we need a suitcase just for shoes.

Ron

Isn't that what everyone has???? A suitecase or two of shoes.....:lmao: :lmao:

AS I am getting ready to start putting my stuff in the suitcases -- I want to make sure that restaurant attire which states 'no tank tops' does not require to sleeveless women's or girls' tops -- am i correct?

rani

CORRECT...... No room for sleeves anyway....

you know -- i meant 'refer' to womens' tops...thanks tink....

anyone have info on photo packages on board?

Hi everyone.:goodvibes
I have been trying to catch up on all the posts and learn everyone's names before I jumped on. But I have come to realize that your quest to reach 150 pages and my desire to digest all of your names and quirks are at a point where I cannot win!

I apologize if I repeat something- although I do know how to pronounce Rani- HA!:rotfl:

Anyway, Feiste, have you thought about that other park in Orlando, you know, the one you can only whisper about in the land of Mouse? My boys (ages 7 and 9) love Univesal (although not as much as Disney) and it is a lot of fun. They advertise a ticket that is good for 7 consecutive days for the price of one day at Disney.

Also, near Universal is the world's largest McD- they even have "goumet" foods such as pasta and paninis, plus a huge arcade.

I must say, I am intimidated by some of your um, how should I put it, enthusiastic organizational skills. I am lucky if I am packed the day before we leave.

Amanda

PS: I have never used a smiley before, but I was afraid you all would find me boring without them!

Let me the first to :welcome: you and your family!!!!!
Yes we have gone a bit CRAZY with all the post lately...I too am having trouble keeping up with them LOL!!!! But it is FUN!!!

Is this your first Disney Cruise??

Sleeveless dresses and blouses are going to be fine. May I suggest though that you bring a lightweight sweater to put over yourself in the dining rooms and out on deck? Let me tell you - some areas are very chilly - if you tend to run cool like me.

As far as the tipping - we usually tip $1.00 pp with the room service.

amandaC - welcome! Email me and I'll email you the list. Is there a DH in your troop?

Rani - LOVE Rent! Josh and I love to put on the soundtrack in the car and crank it up and sing to it.

Have a great night - we're watching last night's Survivor - I had a soccer game to play!

Kim

Hello everyone. TGIF :woohoo:

Well, I wasn't planning on coming on here tonight because I have so much I need to do. I just can't seem to help myself though....I'm getting so excited about the trip

EJKJMOM: Thanks for the welcome. It's not our first cruise- it's our 4th (2 previous cruises on the magic and 1 on the Wonder).

Kim: Yes, there's a DH too. Don't tell him I left him out on my first post. I tried to email you but I wouldn't let me. Did you mean private message?

Mike: I saw you didn't know your cabin # yet- did you book a guarantee room? Have you checked your ressie on the DCL website? My cabin# just showed up tonight.

Amanda

:cool2:  DS7, my night owl, wanted me to add these smiles!:3dglasses

Kim -
We are major RENT fans. Being the liberal that I am - we took the boys to see RENT on stage. But first we wrote down all the social issues and curse words and explained each of them. There are a lot of things we don't see in suburbia that do exist - so I wanted them to be exposed and learn to be non judgemental. It worked like a charm and we went to see the movie as well. NOT as good and electric as the show -- but did have it's positives.

I wrote an article about the experience with young kids - but magazines thought it was too "much to digest" for the average parent. Go figure!

3 weeks from TODAY...dot dot dot!!!) the ejkj family hopefully will be driving to the port at this time!!!!!!
What time does everyone plan to get to the port????

We are going to try to be there as close to 10:00 as we can!!! Our plans are for Ron to drop the girls, myself and luggage off at the port..and he then will return the car to Budget, and catch the shuttle back...

Last year, we too planned to get to the port by 10:00, but...that didin't happen.. we tried..but it didn't happen :upsidedow ..this year we are going to try a new approach, we'll see if we do any better LOL!!!!! :goodvibes

Hey BJ,

We will be doing the same thing as you !! We are renting from budget too, Ron and James can ride back together. While Ron has James he can fill him in on how great it is to cruise again and again !!

By the way Good Morning everyone, I'm already back from work !

Ok,
I'm asking you guys your opinons because I value it.

DD's B-day is coming and I'm torn between two options:

1. Give her money instead of presents
a. presents I'd have to carry back in our luggage
b. help a little in DD seeing the value money has
c. neat things to buy, can't get here
d. Is 9 a good age to start value of money

2. buy her presents
a. What do you buy a child that has a lot !
b. She's asked for a Hannah Montana guitiar oh and she'd like it autographed
c. What child does not like to open presents

What to do ??

So girls and guys what would you guys do ?

Audrey (who is 10) has been saving for her own Ipod. She often will ask Aunts and Grandparents for cash for gifts. What she really wants is her own ITouch, but I won't let her have one. I don't think it's too young to start the lessons of money. Perhaps just the token gifts on board and then cash for the rest. Or celebrate before you leave or when you come back, if you think she will be upset over no presents.
