03/01/2008 Eastern!!

Regarding the picture of our family as pirates, My DD has exchanged some e-mails with Feiste's DD and Tink's DD. I think the photo may have gone to one or both of them. I have not posted photos on the thread because I have been, quite frankly, too lazy to do such things. I don't even take the time to add the smilies to my posts that the rest of you are fond of.

- Mike

P.S. My wife has never posted to the thread, she only reads them. It's all me, Baby.

Thanks Mike for making up for the smilies in one post.:yay:

Hey Mike I just noticed you do not even have a signature. How can you be fond of matching underwear if you do not even have a signature. I just noticed that after making the smilies comment.

The Minnesotans are all about taking time for us this cruise. HINT HINT, one of the reasons we have the kids talking precruise. It usually takes them a little bit to make friends and since the first day out is a sea day, we say "let's get the party started". DD is a little older now, so we are not going to be pager worried. Last couple of cruises we were so stuck on the pager we would go to the clubs and I would sit in the back just in case it went off. This time, I know they are fine. So "Let's do it"...... (Go out that is).

:

On our last 7 day cruise Audrey ate dinner with us twice. Once was because it was the first night and the clubs were not open yet. The 2nd time was because I forced her to! She had met a friend onboard, and all they wanted to do was swim and play in the club. No boring drawn out dinners for these two. Audrey and Ryan still keep in touch, two years later! If Christopher is up for it I'm sure that Audrey will talk him into skipping more than a few family events in favor of the clubs. Audrey did however go with us to most of the shows. Is Christopher planning on attending the shows with you?

Tell your wife that I for one enjoy your posts, so no worries here!

(Oh my gosh, I just noticed that I forgot to add some smiley faces!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: )

Yes Mike...we too enjoyed your post...you had Ron laughing so hard through out the day..every time he thought of it he would burst out lauhging:laughing:
So no worries here either!!!!:thumbsup2

And our vote for DW name would be Mad at Mad on Disney...too cute, we both got a big chuckle over that!!!!'

Mike, tell me again how old are your kids???

Pirate Night the girls will be the only one dressing up for that one...the only thing piratie (is that a word ????) that we will be wearing, is our ARRGH face when they come around taking pictures and tells us to put on our mean pirate face pirate: ..maybe I'll try to post our pirate night picture later...

As far as the kids club and dinner....Emily and Kaylee really looked forward to the dinners...they really never did get totally crazy about the clubs...about the only time they did the club was when we had a Palo brunch, did the couples spa, and when we went to the adult only club/dances..

We are getting SOOO excited!!!! Is anyone planning on rebooking while onboard? I think that we will probably go ahead and rebook...we can always cancel, or hop onboard w/ the Story's:yay:

Audrey will choose the club as long as she can't be swimming. She does like the shows, and I could probably talk her into a movie, but other than that if it's not swimming it's the club.

I do think that we are planning to rebook while onboard, but I do not think that we are going to be actually cruising again until 2010. I think that we are going to do WDW winter 2009. You never know though, Bob really gets in the spirit while on board, and might just decide that we need to go back in 2009.

I'm pretty sure we wouldn't rebook on board....DH would have to have a couple months to get over the shock of the bills and tipping! Not to mention...two years from now starts our Bar Mitzvah season and that's huge.... But just maybe I could convince him if we got two staterooms instead of the one....let's see how it goes...

HE came home from work today and saw the bed piled with stacks of clothes and asked what I was doing. I told him I was just setting aside the stuff for the trip that I didn't think would be used in the next 49 days so I wouldn't have to worry about it being worn and needing washing or being misplaced.....he said, "Are you serious?" YES!

I have three of our formal outfits hung in a bag only for lack of time for the other two. I'm strategizing how he'll have to drop us off and pick us up at the terminal so we don't have to wear bulky winter coats - just jackets...but with this weather from global warming, that may not be an issue....

Went to the doctor today and got preventative scripts for pink eye, ear infections...blah, blah, blah...stocked the medicine bag....I AM VERY FOCUSSED! YEA - I CAN'T WAIT!

Hope you're all having a good night (and laugh!)

OOOPS, sorry to shout....

does anyone have any tips about phone cards or making calls to shore.....or feelings about whether it's necessary to bring two-way radios on the ship?

thanks for the help,
rani

I'll chime in on this one:goodvibes
we never tried to make any phone calls, cell phone or pay phone...we keep in touch w/ family/friends via e-mail...worked real well, we purchased internet minutes at the beginning, of the trip, can't remember the exact cost. (I just made sure that there was enough minutes left on Friday, so that I could check us in with southwest)

As far as the two-way radios...we have never tried them, but I think that I have read in the past that there is two much interference with all the metal and what not on the ship..I'm not 100% sure though, maybe someone else knows..like say..maybe Michelle????:)

Aaaaarrrrgggghhh,

I have been working on a post for over half-an-hour, and accidently deleted it!!! It was full of a generous mix of philisophical musings and meaningless ramblings that I couldn't possibly replicate! I guess I'll break things up now to avoid losing it all in one stroke of the pen (actually keyboard).

First of all, since my wife reads this thread, you all MUST act as if you are ALL dressing as pirates on pirate night, and that you are GOING ALL OUT as far as costumes are concerned!!! You are going to ruin a fantasy of mine that has been months in the making!!!

Next, Brenda inquired about the ages of our kids. I'll give that and then some. DD Kailyn is 7. DS Jacob is 5. According to official government documents I am 37, though I more often tend to behave as if I am 7 or 17. DW Melissa is 28, and has been so 8 years.

Could the Mommies of Grace and Michaela let them know that Kailyn has not forgotten them. She just hasn't had any computer time recently.

While you veteran cruisers have been pretty helpful, I have some previously asked questions which remain unanswered (or perhaps I missed the answer, and now you must suffer for my ignorance). The key ones that I would like a response on are: (1) Do we pack a week's worth of clothes, or plan on doing laundry? (2) Brenda, are the black Mickey ears the ones that make that round thing on the door into a Mickey head, and if so, could we get a set? (3) Does anyone want us to make them some magnetic door signs? (is anyone planning on bringing a Johnson Rod? (Just kidding)

And it just wouldn't be right to leave without asking some brand new questions as well, so here they are:

(1) Could someone clue us in on the "Customs morning" that I think someone mentioned earlier. (It's much easier for me to have you take the time to explain it in detail than for me to search the Boards.)

(2) What are the pros (presumably a price break) and cons to booking the next cruise while on board, and how far in advance can you book while on board? (MY WIFE ASKED THIS QUESTION!!! So unlike her. I think she asked it an hour ago, but I only recently regained consciousness.)

I have 60 different colored Micky Heads cut out (paint chips from Home Depot) for all.., will try to get more...remember we live in the boonies, our nearest Home Depot is actually closer than our Disney store, it is only about 45 minutes away... I will also bring Mickey Ears for everyones door..

Laundry...we did send some laundry out to be washed, they really did do a nice job...was quite expensive though, so I don't know if I will do that again or not...but to answer your question...I guess we will probably bring a weeks worth of clothes and then some:sad2:
That's more or less what we did last time, and we really did not wear all the clothes we brought...surprise surprise!!!!!
