Hi! We booked this while on the Magic a few weeks back. I"m going to run the Princess 1/2 in the morning and sail away that afternoon. anyone want to do a FE or meet up?

Someone messed up the file, so from now on, send me any edits.

The FE is now officially closed to new members. There are still some missing cabin numbers so when you get them let me know. If there are any edits, let me know. There are some I think just wanted the kids in the FE, so there's no number for the adults, if this is wrong, let me know.

We are also going on the February 23, 2014 4-night Dream Cruise. I plan to run the Princess 1/2 the morning of as well and then we will be getting married in Nassau(onboard) on the 24th. Depending on wedding planning I may have to stick with the Castaway Cay 5k, but REALLY REALLY hoping to do the 1/2.

My fiance and I have two small children (will be 5 and our youngest will be a year old). This is my first cruise, but my fiance did one several years ago. So, needless to say, I'm very excited and looking forward to this cruise!

Thanks, Amunet! I would love to get in on a FE as well. I think it sounds like a great idea and a lot of fun for the family. That link was really helpful

For the other runners out there: Kelly, and Wedge's wife, do you know what time the 1/2 will begin? I'm concerned about not having enough time to finish, take pictures, get to the port, AND THEN... change into my casual wedding dress(for the legal part of our ceremony). It's going to be one BUSY day, but worth it!

The race starts at 5:30 and this year there were 8 corrals w/ 6 minutes between them. you'll have 3:30 from when the last runner crosses at around 6:30 so worst case is 10 am finish. Then assume another hour if you do after pics and getting back to the hotel. If this is your first 1/2 I suggest doing a 10k before then so you'll have some proof of time. they start everyone w/out proof in the last 2 corrals so you'll want as much cushion as you can. this year it took a friend 25 min in line to get Jack Sparrow on the course and she started in B corral. if you're a slow runner that can really eat into your time.

So excited that I'm not the only one trying to do this. I'm a perfect princess (I've done all 5 years) but this will be the first time we didn't stay for few days after.

Yes, this will be my first 'official' 1/2, but I'm a veteran so I have done a lot of different types of runs... particularly while oveseas. I still am a little nervous though. I've got almost a year to train and I've got some good goals in between (toughmudder and some other races) so hopefully I will be ok on time. But from what it sounds like I think I will be ok. 5 runs is awesome! It looks luke a blast And it sure is nice to see fellow cruisers doing the race as well! Good luck to you!

Haha now I feel a bit intimidated, I'm only doing the 5k!

Though, I have never really been active, so for me, this is like doing a full marathon.

Think this cruise will mainly be of people from the marathon weekend?

Amunet, don't be! I may very well end up skipping the 1/2 and do the 5k. The 5k in itself will be a great accomplishment and something we can do together as a family I really, really want to do the 1/2 but with time constraints, wedding plans, and two small children, It may make more sense for me to do the 5k. Not only that, I'm not sure if I want to spend my wedding day (Nassau Day) 'recovering'. We will see how training goes. There are so many options to weigh!! Have you joined the Castaway Cay 5k thread yet?

In MPO, I don't think there will be a ton of runners on our cruise. Although this is my first!

Awe thanks ^_^ That would be fun to do as a family ^_^ I like the fact that the 5k seems to be more lax on times and more about enjoyment. Seems to be great for a beginner, like me
I have not signed up for the Castaway Cay 5k, not sure I will cause the cruise is suppose to be a relaxing reward. Though, maybe some other cruise

I think I will wear my medal from the 5k all day on departure day! Well, we have some runners it looks like, though, I'll be more of a walker lol

we try to do a warm February vacation because of Minnesota's long winter.

I'd also like to update that I had emergency surgery on Sunday. I had a rather large cist on my female part and it was removed. So I'm just recovering and resting. Of course I'm spending all my time planning the cruise and other Disney trips lol
