Hi,
First timers for cruise in general, let alone disney.... Would love to participate in FE. 2 adults, a toddler (15 months) in room 8143!

:yay: We just completed our On-line check in with a 12:30 PM Arrival Time!! Counting down the days!! :goodvibes

We are flying in on the 8th and spending a few days prior cruise at Disney's Vero Beach. We have never been there but are looking forward to some sun and relaxation! :cool2:

Our DD (14), turns 15 in May, is also looking for a buddy so we will have to connect them on that 1st day. :)

That's great we have DD's the same age!!! We should come up with a time and place to meet up after boarding. Where do you suggest?? One of my daughter's closest friends she met on our last cruise....they still text and facebook each other.

If you want PM me and we can set up a meet for the girls :goodvibes

I know I have seen it somewhere on these boards before but of course I can't find the info that I need right now... anyone know where the shipping stuff to port info is at? thanks.

Happy New Year~:mickeyjum

*** DIS DCL FAQ - New Alphabetical Listing of DCL Information ***

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

If you DO NOT want to concern yourself with the carrying of ''stuff'' home that you have purchase or too much to take on the plane, you can take it over to their place of business or they will be more than glad to pick it up from Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and they will ship anywhere and everywhere. They are UPS and FEDEX office. Owners are Raul and Dwane - super nice folks to work with and very accomodating to your shipping needs. Must mention this board for discount.

I think I was supposed to be organising the (first day) on board meet :guilty:, but this is our first time on the Dream, and I haven't a clue about where would be a good spot on this particular ship...any suggestions ???...is there an equivalent to the Promanade Lounge ?- indoors would be best given Port Canaveral weather can sometimes be a bit 'iffy' in Feb., from past experience.

Most meets I have attended have been 15 mins or so after the life boat drill, and before the sail away party (so roughly 20 -25 mins).

Looking at the deck plans it seems as if the Bon Voyage Lounge or the D Lounge would be like the Promanade Lounge......I think:confused3 LOL! Bon Voyage seems too close to Guest Services :scared1: and I think they do reservations and dining changes in the D Lounge on boarding day.........maybe the movie theatre. On our last cruise it was open and deserted....I think that night they were doing the shopping lecture, but it should be vacant until then. Just a thought for an out of the way spot that's indoors.

Hi there! I am getting so excited about our first cruise. We have signed up to be part of the FE exchange. Is there going to be a final list posted so that we know names, numbers, etc. Also, is there going to be a FE meet?

The Vista Café might be good.

Or, I am not sure if it is open to the general public or not, but a neat place may be the "Outlook" which is above "The Edge" at the forward smokestack. I think it is basically a reception room, I don't know if it has to be reserved or not (or if it can be reserved or not.) They may have some kind of function when we set sail.

Just a couple of sugestions... :thumbsup2

Nothing like waiting until the 11th hour...

After doing some research, it looks like we won't/can't actually have a "fish extender" due to the concierge gates on 12. I was told that our "surprises" could be dropped off in the concierge lounge with the staff. Seems like a big pain in the butt for others to have to go through in order to drop something off, so it won't hurt our feelings if we are bumped from anyone's list!

This will be our first time to participate in the exchange and we think it will be a lot of fun!

If it helps, you are welcome to "borrow" on of our cabin doors for your fish extender since we have 2 cabins - they are both on deck 8 (and close together so easy for others to drop off).....so not too far to commute IF you think it could work for you ? ?

Let me know.

Also wondering if we are going to split the list into two lists ....or stay with one big one ??

That would be great :woohoo: for the girls to meet each other. Since there is so much with boarding and moving into our staterooms along with the Drill and Sail away party, how about we just meet at the DIS meet & greet and let the girls decide if they want to go from there to the VIBE or make arrangements for later?

We are new to the cruise thing but are SUPER excited for the adventure!! :goodvibes
