01/04/05 4 Day Magic Roll Call

I think we'll wear our lime-green Mickey Mouse paint chip heads from Home Depot, unless we find some lime-green t-shirts in the meantime. Either way, you'll see the green!!!! :bounce:

I have green Mickey Heads attached to all of our luggage.

I also do have a DIS pin with my user name on it that a fellow DISer sent to me.

I might have to look into getting a lime green shirt before I come too. I know exactly where to look, because my brother is in the t-shirt business :D

Gail, I'm not sure about the kids clubs. I know that they are open for registration and sort of an open house from 5:15-7pm, but I don't know if they'll be ready to sign kids in yet. My guess is that most counsellors are assisting with registration. Everyone is definitely more than welcome to bring their children along to the meet and greet. In fact, it's a great way for them to maybe hook up and make friends.

Tammi

Tammi-That is so nice of you and DH. We are looking forward to meeting everyone. Gail

So is everyone who is posting on this board going to wear something lime green the first night of the cruise so we can all find each other?
We don't have a home depot near us but maybe I can print something out on the printer and cut them out. I want to decorate our door as well for our 10year old so he can find it easily.
I'm a little nervous about turning him loose on the ship. ::yes::

Here is a copy of the Alien Green Mickey Head paint chip from Home Depot that I downlaoded into my computer. Feel free to use this if you like.

Thanks so much for the invite to meet everyone. We'll try to find some thing lime green to wear. If the room is too crowded we could spill over to a new spot. Great idea about the kids meeting up as well. DD14 can be a little timid until she gets her footing then watch out! :bounce:

Tammi - thanks alot for the invite. I also can't wait to meet everyone.
Andy - great to hear that you were able to rebook.
Does anyone know what happened to the theory that all of the remaining cabins were booked at the end of October. After that post I had gone to the DisneyCruise site and Expedia and they weren't showing anything more available. Like Gail, I was also thinking of trying to upgrade my cabin category - maybe there is still a chance.
Just received my special trip planning packet from WDW. "The Magic's Just Beginning" is on the front cover with Tink - how right she is!!!

I was just on the DCL website for this cruise on Saturday, there were still many categories to choose from, that's how I was able to rebook this cruise. I thought for sure it was sold out, and just went on the website hoping I might find a cabin, I was surprised by how many I saw was available. Of course it was near the 60 day out mark, so more cabins may have just opened up.

Dorenda,
I think I have some extra Mickey Heads from Home Depot. If you want me to mail them to you, PM me (I'll check and make sure I can find them).

MagicMaker,
Just wanted to say "welcome" - I also have a DD14. Hopefully they can meet each other at Tammi's cabin - it might make it easier to go to the teen club if they already know someone.

Everyone Else,
Can't wait to meet you all. Can't believe how close it's getting!

Lisa

Hello, everyone.

A few quick things -

When I called Costco a few days ago, they said that they had "quite a few" staterooms left to sell.

If anyone would like me to send them some of the Home Depot Mickey Mouse heads, just send me a PM with your name & address & how many you'd like & I'll send them right out.

Anyone that hasn't PM'd me with their personal information & would like to, please do it asap, as I would like to complete our list to give to everyone. Listed on the sheet is the following:

DIS s/n, Name, Kids Ages, Cruising family members/friends names & ages (kids only), state your from & your stateroom #.

Include ONLY what you'd like to share.

(There is also a column checked off for those that are attending the Palo dinner, but we would like to hear from everyone that would like to be included on the list, whether you're attending the dinner, or not.)

Thank you very much & have a great day! :wave2:

Hi everyone-Happy Wednesday. I called DCL to confirm DH shore excursion on CC. He will be doing the botttom boat fishing in the am. I heard it is excellent.
We are either going to do Atlantis-I put a hold on a Comfort suites room or we will do the Cable Beach area. I think the children will love Atlantis if it is warm enough. We could always hang on the boat????!!!

When I called to confirm the Shore Excursion I gave them my ressie and told them I was a guarntee cabin and they told me"not any more that I had a cabin #". Of course they would not give it to me so I am waiting to hear from the TA.

Caril, When I get it I would forward it to you.

Winter is starting to set in to NY. Very chilly this AM. I am looking forward to warmer weather than 40!!!!!!

Have a great day all. TTYL-Gail

I know what you mean, I left the house to go to work this morning and it was 30 degrees out. Oh, to be in Florida or the Caribbean right about now!!!

It is chilly here today, but I didn't have to scrape the windows like yesterday.

The sun is shining and actually it is not too bad out once you get out there.

Not Florida weather though!!

Well, I know you probably all hate me, but I'm glad it's finally getting cool here - today it's in the high 50's and it feels great! Up 'till last week it was in the high 70's - low 80's and humid, and I was getting so tired of it. I love fall and it seems like it's so late getting here this year.

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Lisa

I love the cold weather too! It's snowing here in Colorado as I type. I love it but I will be ready for a little break from it--like Dec. 28th! Any one know what the weather is usually like end Dec.-Jan.? Want to be able to pack enough but not too much for the cruise.
Lynne

The weather at the end of Dec/ first of January is very difficult to predict.

We have been in Florida at that time when it was shorts weather and other times it has been very very chilly weather. I have video of us at WDW with the kids huddling in their winter coats and mittens and shaking with the cold and we are from the north ;)

I guess the best thing to do would be to keep an eye on the weather forecast when the time gets closer and go from there.

It is usually fairly nice weather though in the Caribbean at that time of year. Not necessarily hot but comfortably warm.

Oh, Lynne, you are making me homesick for the first time in six months! SNOW! I love it! :lovestruc  I just tried to call my son in upstate NY to have him tell me about how beautiful it is up there.

I'm also glad it's cooling down a bit down south here, too, Lisa. I'm not a heat lover to begin with & the summer kept me hibernated like a bear as much as I could. Oh, I did make it to the pool & the theme parks, but believe me, if I didn't have a son still living at home, I would've stayed in my nice air-conditioning from June thru August.

It should be nice weather when we cruise in January. Usually Dec-Jan is pleasant in Florida & it's always much warmer & nicer in the Bahamas.

Been very bored at work today so have been spending lots of time looking up trip reports about the cruise and other info.

Is lunch included on Castaway Cay or do we have to buy it?

Trying to get all this figured out.

Thanks:wave:
