Joining in late! I'm trying really hard to catch up on The Dis but it has been a struggle as I got so far behind!

I enjoy hearing about Universal/Disney trips as I need to figure out the best option for our family group for a few years down the road. Staying at Universal certainly seems the best option!

I really do think staying at US is the way to go, it would also depend on the time of year and how long you want to be there. I was surprised how busy it was for later August and I was glad to have the EP. It really makes sense with a group because if you can have 5 in a room, you get 5 EP’s, that would be very expensive buying outright for the day!

Thank you for following along! Our short stay at US was really perfect, other than missing Hagrid’s new ride! Oh well a reason to get back there for sure! I really liked Portofino Bay, I do like more quiet resorts and this was definitely that!

I felt so spoiled when I stayed at BC a couple years ago. It was so beautiful and the walk to Epcot was dangerous during Flower & Garden.

The Epcot resorts are so awesome! I always thought MK resorts were my favorite, now I am not so sure! The YC was perfect for walking to both Epcot and HS.

I secretly think I would have been happy staying here the whole trip and it would have saved me a few bucks!

What a nice upgrade and a beautiful view! That's so weird about the Instacart not getting out of the car, but I've never tried it so maybe that's the norm?

The room was lovely and he view was awesome! It was odd! I was going to call Instacart when Andi said I think that’s the car, I know some people order and have it dropped with bell service, so getting it yourself may not be the norm

Your time at Universal sounded really fun and productive! The Express Pass came in handy for the short time you were in the parks.

The view from your room at the YC is wonderful! Oh my goodness, kind of makes up for the MB not working initially.

I decided to put an order in for some groceries. I used Instacart for the first time. I signed up for the promotion and didn’t have to pay a delivery fee. I just had to remember to cancel by 8/30 or I would be charged for a year of service! I just ordered some water, bananas, string cheese, granola bars and a bag of Dove chocolates! A girl has to have chocolate! This worked well, I got real time updates from the shopper and he was set to be at YC in about 1 hour! In case you are wondering, I did remember to cancel in time

Love Instacart! It was so easy to use. They actually dropped our stuff off with Bell Services and we had them deliver it.

The CM was very friendly and said our room was ready and we had a waterview This was an upgrade from standard view. I was anticipating a roof top view or parking lot view so this was great. She said we were good to go. The next surprise was how reasonably close to the lobby we were. I mean this because we were on the 4th floor in a corner, but it wasn’t miles down hallways!! In May, our room felt like it was miles down a hallway. We found our room and guess what, magic bands would not open the door, nope, nada

Love, love, love the Yacht CLub! Too bad about your magic bands though.

I headed back up and success!! We opened the door and immediately fell in love with our room! It was so nice, we had 3 windows and this made it feel so much bigger. The balcony overlooked Crescent Lake and the Boardwalk. It was beautiful! It made me so happy.

Nice view ! YC is my favorite resort. I haven’t stayed in the rooms with the newest rehab . They look great .

Lyft to the resort was affordable and less than Universal’s shuttle service. Universal is expensive, it certainly isn’t any cheaper than a Disney stay, in my opinion. Food and drinks in the parks are pricey! City Walk is a fun area to visit and I suggest eating in that area rather than the parks.

They have one at Food & Wine and might try it (depending on how hungry I am and how many other things I've eaten already.)

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy all the goodies at F&W, Andi and I tried the impossible meatball at F&G and loved it!

It just doesn't have... the magic. You know?

Funny story, when I was at the real Kings Cross several years ago, we were wandering around looking for Platform 9 3/4 and a train conductor called out of his window "are you looking for Harry Potter?" and pointed us in the right direction. It was SO funny

I love this! I bet so many people look for it!!

Ugh, this happened to me, too! And I was at Movies and waaaaaaaay far away from the lobby. But I did take the time to ask to opt out of Mousekeeping so the trip was worth the $50 because I probably wouldn't have bothered to ask otherwise.

I read more reports of the magic bands not opening the doors lately!

That's a fantastic view from your room!

Every time I see a picture of beds at Disney now, I think how much I don't like the plain white bedding. A full patterned bed spread isn't necessary, but I at least liked the runners they used to have at the foot, just to give some colour.

I loved the view, it was amazing!
The beds are a bit blah all white! I have been bringing my little blue airline blanket now and I put it on my bed!

Love the room! That is one of my bucket list places to stay.

I hope you get to check it off of the bucket list one day and ask for this room! It was probably one of my most favorite rooms we have had at WDW!

I've noticed this, too! So unfortunate! It really was a sweet spot in the summer. If the crowds keep picking up, then I don't know if the heat will be worth it.

I was a little bummed how busy this August was, each year more so than the last!

It's an awesome ride! Good for you for only being a bit queasy. I think lots of people (including myself) get pretty sick on it, so it's impressive you're usually okay on it.

I love this ride! I did feel a little off after the first night and had to close my eyes a few times!

That's unfortunate! Sounds like you did lots of other fun things though

Haha yeah, it's a pretty intense ride! Andi must be pretty fearless when it comes to rides cuz it sounds like she will ride almost anything!

She really is and to think 5-6 years ago she won’t go on Everest, now she loves all thrill rides!

So do I. Very nostalgic for me, but a fun ride!

I made Jack watch Jaws with me when he was little, it is my all time favorite movie!! He loves it now but when he started to be afraid of taking a bath, I felt like mother of the year

Neat! Does Andi like the impossible burger? I've never tried it. It wasn't gluten free when it first came out, but I think they changed the recipe and now it is.

She really does! She said the Hard Rock was the best she has had until she tried one at Disney this trip!!

Loving all your time at Universal. I think we are getting pretty close to going since Casey is more aware of the stuff there now but I know nothing about it. Will be weird to be in a park and not know where everything is. The EP seems like a great deal too.
