»»June 16, 2012 Father's Day Cruise on the Fantasy!««

Hello All. Been quite a while since I've posted. Got good news and bad news:
Good news: we're still cruising Father's Day weekend.
Bad news: we have to withdraw from the FE and SM.
I don't have a small kid anymore - 13 yr old son . . . going on 27.

Have fun . . . still hope to meet many of you on the cruise!:thumbsup2

The FE/SM List has been updated.

Let me know if you change your mind. It is not just for kids.

Count Us In!

We are:
Stephanie (Me)
Craig (DH)
Brooklyn (11)
Madison (7)
Linda (Grandma)

We are in 9079 & 9579. Def count us in for the FE! I will look back and see if there is something special we have to do to sign up.

We are on a few cruises before this one. We are on Oct 23rd Wonder, Christmas Wonder, Hawaii Wonder and then this one! Whoa, that's a lot of cruises! lol The prices out here on the west coast are just too good to pass up! This will make cruise #13.

We are looking forward to the Fantasy. I liked the Dream but I LOVE the classic ships. We love both the Eastern and Western Itinerary. We did the Eastern in April and it was great. We are happy to be doing this one again! :)

Life has a knack for throwing us major ball curves when you're expecting a straight one (even at 100mph!)...

Sadly we have to cancel our cruise....

I know that you will have a "ball" out in the Caribbean Seas!! :thumbsup2

Well, I think I found the right place!

Booked this earlier this month for our 25th anniversary!

Myself and my DW. This will be our second DCL cruise and we haven't even gone on my first cruise yet.

Hi Everyone!

Just posting to say that we have cancelled this cruise. We just got off the Dream a week ago, and while we LOVED it and had the best time, we decided that we would rather stay 2 weeks at the parks next summer instead 1 week on the Fantasy (for about the same price!)

Will hate not meeting you all. Stateroom #6190 ( 6B aft off the back of the ship) will be up for grabs soon if anyone wants it.

Have a great trip!:goodvibes

Hello to all!!

My fiance and I will be joining this incredible cruise in June...I am so excited! We don't know our room yet, but I know it will be on 10th deck.

Cast: Stephen (48); MarieLou (46)...no kids, but then again, we're kids at heart...

This group is so active already, this is great!!!

Have subscribed to the thread....popcorn::

Best,

Hey everyone!!! My family will be joining you all on this cruise. It will be myself, my two DSs (13 and 6 when we sail), and my sister.
Sailed an Eastern Caribbean itinerary on the Magic this past February, and we loved it. We also just returned today from a 5-night journey on the Dream... it was a blast! Makes me even more excited for the Fantasy!!! :yay:

We want to join the fun! I booked this in November of last year. Seemed like forever, but now that it's less than a year away, I want to start dreaming.

Unfortunately we have had to change our plans so we won't be sailing with you all - Please adjust the "who's sailing" list to take us off. Fortunately, we were able to move to the Dream for Thanksgiving 2012 - which we may or may not do - just awaiting the 2013 itinerary announcement to see if something jazzes us more.

It's been nice getting acquainted. Bon Voyage.

Just stumbled upon this site - looks like a great resource! We are looking forward to making some new friends! And benefitting from your cruise experiences too!
Welcome to all the newest members! We will miss all of those not sailing with us! The list should be updated now.

I just realized I haven't been over here to DIS in ages and haven't let you all officially know that we've rescheduled our cruise and won't be sailing with y'all. Please take us off the FE list so that the count isn't off. I know you all will enjoy your trip. We've rescheduled for Thanksgiving 2012.

I'm excited to report my FE making has started! I plan to have them done and ready to go early for this cruise! Who am I kidding I will still be working at the last minute

Booked our studio at Old Key West using the DVC rental program listed on the disboards. We got a great price and are so excited about staying there:banana:. I had really wanted to stay in the new princess themed rooms but money talks, so went for the best price.

So do you guys think that renting DVC points for some villa is a better deal than looking into the WDW packages that you can get online, the ones with hotel, ticket and dining packages? Just looking at the best option for a couple years down the road.

Yes but depends on what you want to get. The points are $13/point (through this company, you can sometimes get them directly from DVC member for $10) and we got a studio for 56 points for 4 nights. The Port Orleans hotel room was $220/night (princess room) or $190/night for normal hotel room. The Studio is $395/night. The studio of course only holds 4 people so the bigger 1 rooms are of course more points about 104-128. You can get dining through the DVC for same cost you pay through the Disney website ($42.99 adult and $11.99 kid), but we are not planning to use food plan this time since it is just me and the kids. If they are offering free dining then you might benefit from the package deal. Even though they package it all up for you it is no different than paying for it seperatly, but they do have some nice offers like the free dining or 40% off the room. We are also DVC members and are going to buy a season ticket because we will be going back down in May of 2013 because of how our points need to be used, and this was cheaper than buying a non expiration, hopper tickets. I hoped this helped you out. Trust me I played with all the options, drove DH crazy.:rotfl2:

Looks like a job offer is looming...keeping my fingers crossed that I get it AND that we're still able to join you all on the cruise!!!!

I officially start my new job on Monday. Not only can I now still afford the cruise, my new employer is very family oriented and when I timidly asked if I could have 8 days off next June, he said it wouldn't be an issue!

Thanks for the positive thoughts!!!

Congratulations!!! I am glad they won't have a problem with you taking off next year for vacation with us all!!! Most of all glad that you found a job so quickly in this economy. Hopefully it's something that you can stay with a long time!

Thanks - you are so right about finding a job so quickly. I think I can stay with this new job awhile. I have been given a wonderful opportunity which essentially allows me to work only 30 hours a week, but with full-time pay and benefits. With kids going into junior high and high school next year, it's pretty much a dream job for a single mom. I'll be home when they're home - how great is that?

Well folks, it's all but done.

My wife and I have booked our 25th anniversary cruise on RCL's Freedom of the Seas. We'll be taking the Western itinerary at the end of June.

It was our original intent to use this Disney cruise with all of you folks to celebrate our 25th, but after our last experience aboard the Disney Wonder, we think we'll be happier for this event in our lives to be celebrated with a different cruise line.

As soon as the 2013 dates are announced for DCL, we'll be moving our deposit for this sailing to one in 2013. We're hoping to get something aboard the Fantasy, but it will depend on what they announce.

I know you folks will enjoy your sailing. If you are at all curious what changed out mind, feel free to ask. I'll be as specific as you like, but I am still a Disney fan so don't expect me to bash DCL. Generally speaking, we just don't think DCL fits our demographic for adults traveling without children.

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to let you know we will be canceling this cruise. We have lots of cruises planned and this one is just not top on the priority list. We are on the Inaguaral Hawaii and it would be impossible to turn around and head back out for this one.
