My triplets started 5th grade today. Wow, time flies! Basement flooded with sewage, so we have major reno going on. And my DH was transferred to Dallas, TX, so we will be moving at the end of the school year (yes, a week before the cruise). It is crazy in our house right now.

Wow, busy time for you! And a big move to look forward to. Think of how much closer you will be, to cruise out of Galveston.

Oh my word. Has your DH already left for Dallas? You are one woman who will need a vacation by next June. I hope the next 10 months are smoother than this week. Hang in there.

We're eloping during this cruise (just the 2 of us, don't tell my parents.. lol). Thankfully DCL seems to take care of almost everything. And then, there is always the Disboards to get great support for the odd questions that nobody seems to be able to answer (even from WDW itself!). Hehe....

And yes, we're getting married on the ship, during one of the sea day. Stephen said that he'd bring his GPS and drop a MOB-point ("man overboard") to exactly point out the very location where I'll say "I do"...

In fact, given that we can't even take the cake off the ship (allegedly for health/safety purposes), I'm thinking that "wedding crashers" will be most welcome! Stephen and I cannot possibly eat cake 3 times/day!! Especially with all the great food on board!

Regarding the 5K, my son will be running. But by the looks of the most recent posts, it looks like the wedding crashers should join the run to burn off all of that wedding cake

This is funny because it reminds me of when DH (ssanders79) & I got married at WDW. We got married on a Monday at Noon, and then were heading off on a Disney cruise on Thursday, so we didn't have much time to eat it. There were only 9 of us total at the wedding (including us), and we got so tired of cake, we had to throw some out We were so tired of it. We gave our maid of honor the top of the cake to bring home, and ended up tossing it. We could've definitely used some wedding crashers to help us with it

Maybe......here's the thing with the 5K. It eats into your CC time......I did it on the first day of our 2-stop double dip back in Aug 2010, and by the time we ran, and I headed back, ate a little breakfast & showered, it was majorly cutting into relaxing at CC. It might be better if I send stuff down with DH & DD and just rinse off on the island in a bath house this time........I found it more time-friendly to "open" the Vista spa gym every day at 6:30am instead!

I was thinking of the 5K, I missed it last time because we slept in. I am not sure about it this time...I really want to do it, but Silverfox makes a good point, I don't want to miss a lot of time on CC (My most favorite place on earth now!!!) I will have plenty of time now to decide.

Silverfox, that's exactly my point....I am not a big sweet eater to begin with (and neither is Stephen), and on the night of our wedding, we're trying to score a reservation at Remy. No offense for DCL cakes, but I don't think I will gobble down a big piece of cake just as I am about to embark on a Remy adventure!

Great advice re: 5K. I thought that it was early morning, like 8:15am? And isn't it roundtrip, such that you'd be back to the ship before 9am (assuming one runs at -or- less than 12 min/mile). If you have any additional info on the 5K (or to a thread that is discussing this), I would be most grateful!

By the way, I have been following the Dream (since yesterday pm, when it left port right after the Carnival Sensation and the RC Freedom of the Seas), and was curious to see how its itinerary would be impacted by the Hurricane Irene. Last time it reported its position was 17 hours ago. Is this a normal occurrence? Considering that Irene will hit the Bahamas as a Cat. 3, do you think that the Dream will get back to port earlier?
